'It's Not a Corporate Job'
In a conversation with Screen, Ali addressed Deepika Padukone's reported request for an 8-hour workday, which allegedly led to her stepping away from Spirit. Sharing his views, Fazal said he supports everyone finding satisfaction in their work. He noted that filmmaking isn't a typical corporate job and shouldn't be treated like one.
A Call for Collaboration and Compassion
The Metro…In Dino actor further emphasized that work hours on a film set should be a collaborative decision.
He stressed that creativity requires compassion and understanding, and such matters—like the distribution of hours on a project like Spirit—should be discussed and agreed upon by actors, creators, and technicians alike.
He further elaborated on his stance by pointing out that different genres come with different demands, making it unrealistic to apply a one-size-fits-all approach to work shifts in the film industry.
He explained that VFX-heavy projects may require less physical time on set, while action or drama films demand more. According to him, the nature of filmmaking is inherently subjective, and imposing rigid standards or asking people to take sides in such debates is both harsh and unfair.
Deepika's Reported Demands Sparked the Conversation

Saiyaara Box Office Day 1: Ahaan Panday's Debut Creates History, Gets Massive Rs 15.51 Cr Opening

Last Updated: Saiyaara Day 1 Box Office: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara makes a historic debut with Rs 15.51 crore on Day 1. Mohit Suri's Saiyaara has taken a flying start at the box office. Released today, the romantic drama marks the much-anticipated debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned a whopping Rs 15.51 crore by 8 pm, making it the highest opening day figure for any film directed by Suri — even surpassing his previous blockbusters. Saiyaara has outperformed the Day 1 collections of Murder 2 (Rs 6.95 crore), Aashiqui 2 (Rs 6.10 crore), and Half Girlfriend (Rs 10.30 crore). It is inching close to eclipsing Ek Villain (2014), which collected Rs 16 crore on its opening day. If the final figures exceed that mark, Saiyaara would become Mohit Suri's biggest opener ever. The film clocked an overall occupancy of 41.07% across 3,523 shows nationwide, with Mumbai accounting for 649 shows and Delhi-NCR for 804. These numbers reflect a strong buzz that has been building for weeks, fueled by the film's music and strategic pre-release decisions. Produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has become a talking point not just for its collections but also for its unconventional approach to promotions. Director Madhur Bhandarkar praised the film on X, writing, 'Saiyaara has shattered every myth about launching newcomers… It's not about who you know. It's about what you bring." Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta echoed the sentiment, giving credit to YRF's strategy of keeping the lead pair away from pre-release promotions. 'They kept alive the freshness exclusively for the big screen. And look at how it's worked," he posted. The film's opening has exceeded expectations, especially considering that neither Ahaan nor Aneet had prior visibility. This could mark a much-needed comeback for Suri, who hasn't had a major box office hit since Ek Villain — a film made on a budget of Rs 39 crore that went on to gross Rs 155 crore worldwide. If the word-of-mouth continues to grow and weekend numbers stay strong, Saiyaara might just emerge as one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. Will Mahesh Babu turn into Indiana Jones for SS Rajamouli's film? Alleged SSMB29 plot leak explored

SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role, is currently in the making under SS Rajamouli's direction. As more details about the movie are yet to be unveiled, a recent report has revealed its plot, and here's what it says. SSMB29: Mahesh Babu starrer's leaked plot According to a report by the Tanzanian portal, The Citizen, it read, 'Inspired by Indiana Jones and African adventure classics, the film follows a rugged explorer who sets out on a high-stakes mission through uncharted terrain, battling nature, mystery, and a powerful enemy to uncover a long-lost secret that could change the world.' As SSMB29 is currently in production, the movie is reported to begin shooting in East Africa with Mahesh Babu being joined by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The shoot for the jungle adventure movie is expected to take place in the Serengeti first, and later move towards the Southern parts of Africa. More about SSMB29 Talking about the magnum opus, SSMB29 is touted as one of the biggest cinematic ventures ever envisioned in Indian cinema. Aiming to portray a never-before-seen experience, the movie is speculated to be made on a budget of Rs 900-1000 crore. Initially, the film was said to be releasing in theaters as a two-parter with the shoot going up until the end of 2026 and hitting the big screens in 2027 and 2028, respectively. However, we at Pinkvilla exclusively reported that the makers have moved away from the decision and will release it as a single film, likely with a long runtime. Apart from Mahesh Babu, the adventure film will have Priyanka as the co-lead with actors like Prithviraj and R Madhavan in key roles. Recently, it was also reported that similar to Kurchi Madathapetti, Mahesh Babu will have a solo dance number in the SS Rajamouli directorial. The track is said to be a massy number with several dancers alongside him. Moreover, it has been speculated that Mahesh Babu has decided not to use any body doubles for the adventure movie and will do his own stunts.
