Madhya Pradesh gangrape victim's intestines were protruding, postmortem reveals
The postmortem report of the Madhya Pradesh tribal woman, who was gangraped by two men, revealed extreme brutality inflicted on the victim with her intestine protruding and injuries to her genitals. The 45-year-old woman died of grievous injuries and excessive bleeding after being gangraped by two men she knew before.According to the postmortem report, accessed exclusively by India Today TV, the woman was brutally assaulted and died due to excessive bleeding. "Her intestines had come out, while the uterus remained unharmed. However, there were genital injury marks," Dr Seema Sood, head of postmortem investigation and forensic expert, said.advertisementThe horrific incident took place in Khandwa district on Friday night when the woman went to the house of the accused, Hari Palvi (35), after attending a wedding where they were joined by Sunil Dhurve (26).
The three of them got drunk, following which the two men gang-raped her.Hari's mother discovered the woman in an injured state the next morning, following which she informed the woman's family. Later, the woman told her family members that she was sexually assaulted by both Sunil and Hari. She started excessively bleeding following the sexual assault and reportedly died due to it.Khandwa Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Raghuvanshi had said that prima facie, it appears that the woman was severely assaulted, and she bled to death.According to police, the woman had two children, and she and the accused belonged to the Kurku tribal community. She died around 2 pm on Saturday, following which the police were notified.advertisementBoth the accused have been booked on charges of gangrape and murder under sections 103(1), 66 and 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Reacting to the incident, the Congress said that Madhya Pradesh was turning into the country's "rape capital" and said that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had failed to handle the responsibility of law and order as the Home Minister. Bawankule meets protesting Bachchu Kadu, Cong backs his stir
Nagpur/Amravati: Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday met ex-MLA Bachchu Kadu at Amravati and urged him to end his indefinite fast, which has continued for six days now. On Friday, the Congress also threw its weight behind Kadu's ongoing agitation for farmers, just a day after NCP (Sharad) MLA Rohit Pawar drove down to the Amravati protest site where Kadu is on indefinite fast. Earlier on Friday, high drama unfolded at the protest site, when a member of Kadu's Prahar Janshakti Party consumed poison, and was rushed to the hospital by the medical team present on site. The activist, identified as Ajay Bhagwatrao Chaudhary, has been admitted to a private hospital at Warud. Chaudhary, like many other Prahar activists, had turned restless on Friday citing 'government's apathy' towards Kadu's Annatyag Andolan, now into its sixth day, at Gurukunj Mozari (about 30km from Amravati city). Kadu's agitation raises issues related to farmers, divyangs, widows, fishermen etc. Before Bawankule's visit too the govt has tried to persuade Kadu to withdraw the agitation. Ministers Bharat Gogawale, Pankaja Munde and Jaykumar Gore held online meetings with Kadu, who expressed his resolve to continue the agitation as no concrete assurance reportedly came out of these meetings. As the monsoon session of the legislature is set to begin later this month, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has already hinted that Kadu's agitation will be an issue discussed there. No foreign military leader invited to the June 14 parade: White House
The White House has categorically denied reports that any foreign military leader, including Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, has been invited to the upcoming U.S. Army parade in Washington, marking the 250th anniversary of the American armed forces. 'This is false. No foreign military leaders were invited,' a White House official said, refuting multiple media reports from South Asia. The reports claimed that Mr. Munir would be a guest of honour at the June 14 celebration, which is also U.S. President Donald Trump's 79th birthday. Derek Grossman, a senior defence analyst at RAND Corporation, criticised the rumoured invitation, calling it a 'diplomatic setback' for India. 'For India, the Trump admin's invitation to Pakistani Field Marshal Asim Munir is tantamount to inviting an avowed anti-India terrorist,' he said in post on X. Congress responds India's Opposition Congress Party described it as a diplomatic setback for the Modi Government. 'Failed Marshal Asim Munir, who gave such inflammatory, incendiary and provocative statements, talked about the two-nation theory, Hindus and Muslims, and there is a direct relation between his statement and what happened in Pahalgam on April 22. 19 charge-sheeted for last year's 1,200kg drug bust in Delhi
The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has filed a 10,000-page chargesheet against 19 individuals, including a former Congress party worker, a Dubai-based fugitive, a British national, for allegedly running an international drug trafficking network that led to the seizure of 1,289kg of cocaine and over 40kg of marijuana in Delhi-NCR during a sweeping three-month-long crackdown last year. The chargesheet, submitted at the Patiala House court on Thursday, estimated that the drugs were worth ₹13,000 crore. Of the 19 people accused, 14 were arrested during raids conducted last year. The chargesheet mentions that five people are 'proclaimed offenders', but currently at large. This includes the alleged kingpin of the racket — Virender Basoiya, who is believed to be in Dubai, and his son Rishab. Police arrested Basoiya's younger brother Ravinder Basoiya from a hotel in east Delhi in December last year. One of the first major busts came in October 2024, when the Special Cell raided a godown in Mahipalpur, south Delhi, seizing 562kg of cocaine and 40kg of Thai marijuana. The storage facility was owned by Tushar Goyal, a former Congress worker, who was arrested along with three others. Goyal's interrogation led police to UK national Jitendra Pal Singh Gill, who was apprehended at the Amritsar airport. Gill, police said, had been dispatched to India by Basoiya to manage the consignment. Several consecutive raids included one at the manufacturing unit of Gujarat-based company Aavkar Drugs in Ankleshwar. The company makes precursors for cough syrups. The chargesheet states the drugs were made in Gujarat and Delhi. 'The raw materials were procured from five pharma companies in south India and Gujarat which have been sent notices. The drugs were smuggled by three shell companies created by Basoiya on forged identities. These firms were used for transactions and for buying raw materials and then selling them,' a senior police officer explained. Police said the five pharma companies are not accused but witnesses in the case. 'Once the raw chemicals were procured fraudulently from the pharma companies, they were processed in Aavkar and then sent to Delhi in trucks and other vehicles via Uttar Pradesh. Goyal further mixed the chemicals with the cocaine mixture. This cocaine mixture came from South American countries via Dubai,' added the senior officer. Police said Basoiya's family members have been named accused for 'handling the coordination' between key players in the nexus. The Special Cell stated in the chargesheet that the drug ring has been running since February last year. Basoiya has also been accused in the Meow Meow drug case in which 1,700kg of cocaine, worth over ₹3,000 crore was traced to Delhi and Pune. The seizure was made by Mumbai Police. Additionally, the chargesheet has shown technical evidence — mobile data records, CCTV footage, transaction records, digital footprints apart from the seizures. 'It is believed that Basoiya left India after the February drug hauls. There are some other key associates of Virender Basoiya who are also involved in the syndicate. Further investigation is on,' said another officer.
