Liza Minnelli Making Drag Race Debut in Season 17 Grand Finale — First Look
We've seen Liza Minnelli imitated on Snatch Game, but after 17 seasons, the real deal is finally coming to RuPaul's Drag Race.
The legendary performer and longtime gay icon will guest-star in the show's grand finale on Friday, April 18 (MTV, 8/7c), TVLine has learned. Minnelli will grace the main stage to receive Drag Race's first-ever Giving Us Lifetime Achievement Award.

This news comes on the same day that PBS is premiering Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story, a documentary about the star's life and career. You can catch its on-air debut on Tuesday, April 1 at 9 pm.
Five queens remain in the running to become America's Next Drag Superstar this season: Jewels Sparkles, Lexi Love, Onya Nurve, Sam Star and Suzie Toot.
If we're going by the numbers, Onya is currently the Season 17 frontrunner with an impressive four wins under her belt. She's followed closely behind by Sam with three wins, Lexi and Suzie with two, and Jewels with one.

Outlander's final season does not yet have a premiere date, but we'll be sure to update this post as soon as Starz announces one. Some context: The bulk of Season 8 filming wrapped in September 2024, though several cast members filmed reshoots shortly after. And in March 2025, series star Sam Heughan announced via Instagram that he'd just finished 'the last ADR' (aka re-recording dialogue that wasn't captured clearly during filming) on the series finale. Yes, Season 8 will be the time-travel drama's final run of episodes. Starz announced the series' ending in January 2023. 'It's been an incredible journey,' Heughan said in a video released at the time of the announcement. 'Thank you so much for being with us since Day 1,' series star Caitríona Balfe added. Since its start, Outlander has covered roughly one book in Diana Gabaldon's novel series per season. So it reasons that Season 8 would follow the events of Book 8, Written in My Own Heart's Blood. However, given that Gabladon has published Book 9 (Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone) and is working on Book 10, there's a good chance Season 8 will include storylines from all of the above. Co-showrunner Matthew B. Roberts says the guidelines for Season 8 were 'Nothing that doesn't affect Jamie and Claire gets in. It's gotta affect Jamie and Claire. All the main characters do — they're a part of it — but that's the drive. There's so many aspects. I mean, they're all big books. There's things where you kind of go over here, and you go over here — that's what makes the books so readable and fun. But when you have 10 episodes, you have to stay literally on track.' One plot that is not in the novels but will be addressed at the top of the final season: The Season 7 finale cliffhanger of whether Claire and Jamie's daughter, Faith, somehow survived what we thought was her stillbirth in Season 2. Roberts promises that fans will have that point cleared up 'visually' in the upcoming season. On the MacKenzie side of things, might Brianna and Roger have another baby in Season 8, like they do in Go Tell the Bees? 'As you know, we sometimes stick to the books, and we sometimes don't,' Skelton told TVLine coyly in February. 'But I think it would be great if they had another child. And wearing the fake pregnancy bumps is super fun, so sign me up.' Though Starz has not yet released an official cast list, we have it on good authority that Heughan, Balfe, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, Charles Vandervaart and David Berry will be back for the final season. Someone who won't return for the series' swan song is Kristen Atherton, who played Jamie's sister, Jenny, in Season 7. Though Jenny eventually joins her brother and his family in America in the novels, Roberts said time constraints meant making some tough cuts for Season 8. 'With 10 episodes,' he explained, 'there's a lot less you can do.' Along those lines, Tobias Menzies — who played Claire's husband, Frank, and his villainous forebear Jonathan 'Black Jack' Randall — also will not return, TVLine reported exclusively in March 2024. 'They're going to bring it home magnificently, I'm sure,' Menzies added. You'll be able to watch Outlander Season 8 on Starz and the Starz app. Starz has not yet released a trailer for Season 8. Sesame Street's Pride Month post sparks backlash from Republican lawmakers amid PBS funding threats
Republican lawmakers called to defund PBS after the television station's long-running children's show, "Sesame Street," celebrated LGBTQ "Pride" Month on social media. The children's show went viral after it posted a short message on June 1, kicking off Pride Month. "On our street, everyone is welcome. Together, let's build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are. Happy #PrideMonth!" Sesame Street's X post read. The post reached over 23 million views and sparked criticism from conservatives, who slammed the kids' show for turning "woke." Npr, Pbs Honchos Face Tense Grilling By Gop Lawmakers Over Biased Coverage, Taxpayer Funding In response, Republican legislators called on PBS, which has been the historical home of Sesame Street for over 50 years, to lose its federal funding. Read On The Fox News App "PBS is shamelessly grooming our children while collecting taxpayer dollars. This is evil and should infuriate every parent in America. DEFUND!!" Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., posted to X. "Federal funds aren't for grooming. Through Sesame Street characters or otherwise. Defund PBS," Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, posted to his personal X account in reply to a video of a 2020 episode of "The Not-Too-Late Show" with Elmo featuring Johnathan Van Ness of Netflix's "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy." Van Ness is also scheduled to appear as a celebrity guest on Sesame Street this season. Democrats Invoke Children's Shows In Bizarre Defense Of Pbs, Npr: 'Fire Elon, Save Elmo' Miller's office did not immediately return a request for comment asking why she believed "Sesame Street" was "grooming" children with their post. Lee's office told Fox News Digital the senator has been a consistent advocate of pulling taxpayer dollars from PBS for many years. Republicans in Congress have long tried to pull government funding from public media organizations NPR and PBS that they argue are liberally biased. PBS and Sesame Street did not immediately return Fox News Digital's request for comment. In March, Rep. Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, reintroduced a bill to defund NPR and PBS, saying they have been "pushing Democrat talking points under the fake banner of 'public media.'" Defunding Pbs And Npr Could Make Them Even Worse President Donald Trump also signed an executive order on May 1 with the goal of eradicating federal funding for NPR and PBS. The order, titled "Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Biased Media," called for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) Board to cease direct and indirect funding to the two media outlets. "At the very least, Americans have the right to expect that if their tax dollars fund public broadcasting at all, they fund only fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news coverage. No media outlet has a constitutional right to taxpayer subsidies," the order reads. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) receives about $500 million annually from Congress to distribute to public radio and TV stations, with some of that funding going to support NPR and PBS. Pbs Sues Trump Administration, Says Executive Order Cutting Federal Funding Violates First Amendment PBS and NPR responded to the executive order by filing lawsuits against the Trump administration in May. "[In] an Executive Order issued on May 1, 2025, the President declared that government funding of private sources of non-commercial media is 'corrosive,' and singled out PBS (alongside National Public Radio) as failing to provide 'fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news,'" the court filing obtained by Fox News Digital reads. "PBS disputes those charged assertions in the strongest possible terms. But regardless of any policy disagreements over the role of public television, our Constitution and laws forbid the President from serving as the arbiter of the content of PBS's programming, including by attempting to defund PBS," it continued. 9-1-1: Nashville Adds Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost and 2 Others to Cast — See Who Everyone Is Playing
9-1-1: Nashville is filling out its ranks with four new cast additions: Hailey Kilgore (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), Michael Provost (The Sex Lives of College Girls), Juani Feliz (Harlem) and influencer Hunter McVey have all joined ABC's 9-1-1 offshoot in series-regular roles, TVLine has learned. Kilgore, a Grammy and Tony Award nominee, will play firefighter Taylor, who also happens to be an incredible singer; Provost will play modern-day cowboy Ryan, also a firefighter; Feliz will play former trauma surgeon (and current adrenaline junkie) Cammi; and McVey will play a haunted bad boy who has since become a firefighter. Country singer LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Nashville) have also been cast in undisclosed roles. Though a specific series premiere date has not yet been announced by ABC, we know that 9-1-1: Nashville will air Thursdays at 9/8c this fall, sandwiched between new episodes of 9-1-1 at 8 pm and Grey's Anatomy at 10 pm.
