Former Def Jam President Kevin Liles Sued for Alleged Sexual Assault
In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Manhattan, the woman claims she was hired by the corporate defendants in 1999, with Liles acting as her supervisor. She alleges that between 2000 and 2002, Liles sexually harassed her on numerous occasions. According to the lawsuit, Liles allegedly 'pressed his body against [her] breasts,' and 'grabbed [her] on the buttocks.'

The woman claims that in 2002, Liles made 'sexually inappropriate comments and advances' that she rebuffed. 'Kevin Liles proceeded to physically force himself on top of [Jane Doe] where he began to sexually assault and ultimately rape her despite her continued protests,' the 21-page lawsuit alleges.
The woman was able to file her decades-old claim using a special two-year lookback window under a New York City law that was enacted in 2000 with the aim of allowing victims to sue their attackers and related institutions over alleged gender-motivated violence. The window, which closes Saturday, has allowed plaintiffs to file lawsuits that otherwise had passed the statute of limitations.
Attempts to reach Liles and a spokesperson for UMG were not immediately successful Thursday. After his time as president at Def Jam, Liles, 57, went on to become the co-founder and CEO of 300 Entertainment, a label whose artists include Young Thug, Gunna, Fetty Wap, and Mary J. Blige. Liles, who previously testified at a court hearing in an attempt to get Young Thug released on bond during the rapper's RICO prosecution in Atlanta, announced he was stepping down from 300 Entertainment last September.
The plaintiff behind the new lawsuit claims UMG and Def Jam should be held liable for her alleged abuse because they 'enabled, permitted, directed, controlled, approved, managed, operated and ratified the manner in which Liles engaged with employees.' She is asking for compensatory and punitive damages to be decided at trial.

Chance the Rapper Reflects on Viral Carnival Clip: 'Nobody Knew That Me and My Wife Were Separated'
Chance the Rapper concedes that he was 'tripping' when he was seen in a viral clip of him dancing with a woman at Carnival circa 2023, noting that the world was unaware of his separation from ex-wife Kirsten Corley at the time. During a recent chat on the New Rory & Mal podcast, Chance, whose new album Star Line is out Friday, was asked about the viral moment. As Chance tells it, his 'tripping' can serve as a teaching moment for others. Def Jam | Official Store Justin Bieber: Holy ft. 'After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,' the couple said at the time. 'We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.' In his conversation with Rory and Mal this week, Chance said the clip marked an example of him 'putting our business out there.' While he made sure to point out that he was celebrating his 30th birthday at the time and that the level of 'lit' observed in the footage is par for the course at Carnival, Chance also said he was 'glad when that s**twas over,' as everyone from family members to press outlets were 'blowing up' his phone. 'Everybody was lit,' he said. 'That was probably the cleanest whine I caught. Y'all are lucky they censored the other whines I was catching. But the truth is, like I said, don't have anybody looking stupid. I went out there for fun. I think, at the end of the day, I do wish that that s**tdidn't happen that way and I wish that I was protective of her. But I think it's, you know, it's in the past. That's the reality.' Dog found starved, abandoned and shot twice in Armstrong County
After a dog was found starved, abandoned and shot twice in the head, Armstrong County humane officers are asking for help figuring out who's responsible. Around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, humane officers said a man spotted the dog, named Rico, walking on a dirt road in Troy Hill in Kittanning. He noticed the dog was very skinny, so he gave him some food. But since he had his own dogs with him, investigators said he went home and called his niece. Then, between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., officers said someone stopped and shot Rico twice in the head before leaving the scene. When the woman and her husband arrived, humane officers said they found the dog whimpering, injured and lying on the side of the road. The couple called police, who contacted humane officer Susan Clark with Humane Animal Allies. She took Rico to an emergency vet hospital in Monroeville, where an exam showed his injuries were so severe he had to be euthanized. A forensic veterinarian performed a necropsy on Rico, which showed he suffered from starvation before being shot twice in the head. Humane Animal Allies thanked Clark, an unpaid volunteer, for getting Rico to the hospital. They said after leaving the vet at 11 p.m., she went directly to her job as a firefighter and EMT, working the midnight to 8 a.m. shift. Investigators are now asking anyone with information about Rico to call Clark at 724-316-7691 or email her at armstrongposclark@
