Adam Sandler on a Potential 'Billy Madison' Sequel: ‘Let's Write That Tonight'

Yahoo23-07-2025
The list of iconic Adam Sandler movies from the 1990s and early 2000s is lengthy, and the release of Happy Gilmore 2 is set to give fans a blast from the past. The decision to remake the beloved 1996 film has now sparked hope from some fans that there could be more on the horizon.
While there doesn't appear to be any other Sandler-led sequels in the immediate future, the topic of one memorable film was brought up at the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere on Monday, July 21.
Billy Madison.
During the press segment of the movie premiere, Sandler was asked by Variety when the Billy Madison sequel is coming, and he had a great (yet seemingly sarcastic) response.
"Let's write that tonight," Sandler said.
In the 1995 film, Sandler plays a spoiled rich kid who spends his days partying, but when his father gives him an ultimatum, he must reconsider his priorities. If Madison doesn't retake and pass every grade in school within 24 weeks, his father's hotel business will be given to his business associate, Eric, instead of Madison.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely that Sandler will run back another one of his popular films anytime soon. However, if he did choose to do so, fans would surely love to see the 58-year-old bring Billy Madison back to life.
After all, who wouldn't want to know what the former man-child Madison is up to after his grueling 24-week stretch of school?Adam Sandler on a Potential 'Billy Madison' Sequel: 'Let's Write That Tonight' first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 22, 2025

The actor Manny Jacinto says the best marriage advice he's ever gotten is to go to couples therapy when things are good

Manny Jacinto says a good tip he's received is to start couples therapy before problems arise. Otherwise, "it might be too late," the "Freakier Friday" actor said. He also finds it helpful to ask himself if he's reacting to his feelings or to what his partner is saying. "Freakier Friday" actor Manny Jacinto knows that the honeymoon phase doesn't last forever, but he doesn't wait for cracks to show before working on his marriage. In an interview with Cosmopolitan published on Tuesday, Jacinto said a good piece of relationship advice he once received was to "go to couples therapy before you need it." "It goes for therapy in general. You don't want to be going to couples therapy when you're in a really bad spot because sometimes it might be too late," Jacinto told Cosmopolitan. Having a neutral third party can help with communication and deepen understanding between partners, he said. Moreover, maintaining a marriage requires constant effort. "It takes work, time, and communication, but it's worth it. If it was easy, everybody would stay married. But it's not easy," Jacinto said. Jacinto, also known for his roles in "Top Gun: Maverick" and "Star Wars: The Acolyte," married fellow actor Dianne Doan in 2021. When navigating relationships, he said he finds it helpful to ask himself whether he is reacting to his feelings or to what his partner is actually saying. "So it can be as simple as, 'Am I hungry and is this why I'm acting like this? Or did I not get enough sleep? Am I actually responding to what they're saying properly and giving it the full attention?'" Jacinto said. "Because I noticed that if I don't get a good amount of sleep or if I'm hungry, if I'm having a bad day, that gets passed on to our relationship." A representative for Jacinto did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent by Business Insider outside regular hours. Other Hollywood celebrities have also shared why couples therapy is essential to their relationships. In August 2024, Rob Lowe said he and his wife of over 30 years, Sheryl Berkoff, have gone for counseling even when they "didn't need it." "It's like taking your car in and making sure the engine's running great," Lowe said. In March, Meghan Trainor told Business Insider that she and her husband, Daryl Sabara, started going to marriage counselling once a month. "We heard our friends were in couples therapy, which made us wonder if we should do that, too. We said to ourselves, 'Let's try it and see how we can get even closer,'" Trainor said. Haus of Comedy moving into new space in Old Sacramento

There will soon be another spot in Sacramento to tickle your funny bone. A new comedy club is opening up in Old Sacramento just two blocks away from Laughs Unlimited, which has been in business for more than four decades. Jessilee Windhaus is the owner of Haus of Comedy, a new venue opening up in an underground location at 2nd and K streets. Haus of Comedy has been renting space in a midtown theater for the last two years, where they could only perform about six shows a month. Now, they'll be able to do five or six a week. "A lot of people are shocked," Windhaus said. "There's so much incredible talent here in Sacramento when it comes to improv and comedy." Haus of Comedy was runner-up in this year's Calling All Dreamers contest, a program offered by the downtown partnership to assist new business entrepreneurs. "We were really impressed with their passion and creativity," said Andrew LaFrance, with the Downtown Sacramento Partnership. "They're really a fun group of people to be around." Laughs Unlimited just celebrated its 45th anniversary and is one of the oldest comedy spots in the nation. Windhaus said that her club is improv-based, while Laughs Unlimited focuses mostly on standup. Comedy fans are excited about another entertainment spot opening in Old Sacramento. "Even more reason why to come to Old Sac," one person said. Windhaus once worked at the Old Sac museum, leading history tours of the tunnels. Now, she's bringing her own funny business to the underground. "It will probably be haunted, which I'm excited about," she said. "I think ghosts are good at improv." Haus of Comedy will begin moving into their new Old Sacramento space at the end of this month, and it's planning on holding a grand opening celebration in January.
