Shweta Tiwari shares rules she set for her daughter Palak, "I would not let her kahin....'

Actress Shweta Tiwari, 44, who is mother to two children, daughter Palak Tiwari and son Reyansh, recently opened up on her parenting style. Shweta, who has been married twice, has largely brought up her two kids (one from each marriage) on her own, with her daughter Palak too, following in her footsteps, having made her debut in the web series "Rosie: The Saffron Chapter" in 2021.
Strict, but reasonable
Recently while talking to couple Haarsh Limbachiyaa and Bharti Singh for Jist, Shweta made it clear that she is a strict, but reasonable mother. She said that when Palak was younger, she had a strict curfew time that she had to abide by. She said that it could be as early as 11 pm, or as late as 1 am, but it was sacrosanct. "I would not let her go

. However, if you tell me you will be home by 1, you have to be at the door by 1, not leave from the party at 1, " she said.
She also added that she also made it a point to note down all of her daughter's friends' phone numbers, along with their mothers, but was wise enough not to call unless there is an emergency.
The world is sketchy, says the protective mother
Shweta also added that the world can be extremely intimidating for a young woman, so doing all this was a way of protecting her daughter. She said that she also tracked Palak's location when she was out, because even though Palak does not drink, people around her might still do, hence she had to go the extra mile to ensure that she was safe.

Keeping her away from technology
In the world of relentless social media peer pressure, Shweta shocked the hosts by revealing that Palak did not have a phone till when she was in school. "She got her first phone in college, and her first makeup kit at 16". Shweta also pointed out that even during school plays etc, Palak would go makeup free, or do her makeup at home and go, and not use the products at school.
Stipend based home work
Shweta said that she has faced umpteen monetary struggles in life, so it was important for her to teach her daughter the value of money.
She said that all of Palak's payments etc, are routed through her, and after deducting what is needed by her daughter, Shweta makes it a point to put that into the right investments. Not only that, while growing up, Palak used to get a certain amount of money as per need, beyond which she would have to help around the house to earn stipend.
"It could be 1k to clean the bathroom, or 1k to help with other odd jobs, I would pay her as per the task", added Shweta.
How to manage teenage tantrums
When Bharti and Harsh asked Shweta how she was able to manage all this, without any rebellion, the Kasautii Zindagii Kay star said that you have to be firm, yet willing to talk. She said "The most important thing for the child to know is that 'zid mana nahi jayega'. Once they know that the parent will not budge, they will stop demanding so much." She also added that at times, her daughter also knew on what mummy will budge and on what she will not, so they worked out things accordingly.
