A WOMAN has told how she was left traumatised after being mauled by an XL Bully in a savage attack.
Gina Evans, from Bournemouth, was bitten on her left calf by a "XL pocket Bully" on July 1.

Gina was rushed to hospital after the attack where she stayed for four days and required 22 stitches in her injured leg.
Since then, she says her life has been "absolute hell".
Her own dog was also left with three puncture wounds despite her frantic attempts to protect it.
The XL Bully attacked after Gina returned to her home after walking the dog that afternoon.

'I put my dog behind me to stop her from getting hurt and he just sunk his teeth into my leg,' she said.
Gina has been left traumatised by the incident and has been "stuck between four walls" since, adding she's been thinking about moving house as a result.
On one visit to the vet, she recalls how another XL Bully was in there at the same time.
"It was muzzled and oh my god, I was sweating," she said.

Upon her return from hospital, she found the XL Bully hadn't been put down after the attack.
Instead, she discovered that the dog had been sold to another family with two children.

This is despite Gina having had run-ins with the same dog on previous occasions too.
The daylight mauling last month marked the fourth time the XL Bully had tried to attack Gina and her dog.

On one such occasion she was forced to throw her pet over a nearby wall to stop it being attacked.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At around 4.20pm on Tuesday July 1 2025, we received a report from the ambulance service that the victim – a local woman aged in her 50s – had been bitten by a dog in Campbell Road in Bournemouth, sustaining a serious leg injury.
"She attended hospital for treatment to her injury.
"Officers have directly spoken to the dog owner and enquiries are ongoing.

"The victim has been updated with developments of the investigation.
"We would advise members of the public to continue to report incidents of this nature to us so we can investigate further and take appropriate action."
This follows a spate of dangerous XL Bully attacks in recent weeks.
Just last week, a victim of a suspected XL Bully attack was forced to climb over a fence and leap into a river to escape the crazed dog.

It left the man hospitalised with police now appealing for information to track down the owner.
That same week a seven-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after he was mauled by a dangerously out-of-control XL Bully too.
He was savaged by his own family dog in the kitchen of his home suffering serious injuries.

Abdullah arrived in Britain as an asylum seeker in 2023 and has been granted permanent leave to remain. The student was arrested at his home in West Drayton, Middlesex, following the alleged assault. Police were called to the public toilet in Undercliff Drive in Bournemouth, at around 1.57am on July 6. Detective Inspector Shaun Inkpen, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Investigation Team, said: 'After extensive enquiries, an 18-year-old man from the West Drayton area of Middlesex was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. "After consulting with our colleagues in the Crown Prosecution Service, charges were authorised in respect of rape and sexual assault. 'I would like to pass on my thanks to the members of the public who have come forward and assisted our investigation. 'The victim is continuing to be supported and has been updated with the developments in the investigation."

The youth was mauled by his own family's dog in the kitchen of his home. On Monday South Yorkshire Police received 15 calls warning them of a dog dangerously out-of-control dog which had reportedly bitten someone. Cops raced to the scene at around 8pm to discover that a boy, aged 7, had suffered serious injuries after being attacked by the family dog. The registered XL Bully is understood to have lunged at the youth, injuring his neck so severely that he required surgery. The XL Bully has since been seized by cops. Another dog attack was the reported to South Yorkshire Police just a few hours later. Police then raced to a house in Doncaster where another child had been attacked by their family dog at home. A nine-year-old was left with injuries to his ear after the family Shih Tzu mauled him, officers seized the small dog. South Yorkshire Police issued a warning to parents, saying in a statement: "We understand the joy that pets bring to a home, and a child's life, but as the school holidays are underway and children are spending more time at home and visiting friends, family and local parks, we are continuing to urge parents and owners to act. "Any dog of any breed can bite and cause harm or fear. "It is important that you understand your dog, it's behaviour and ensure it has a safe space where it can be alone."
