Ministry of Education opens applications for trainee teachers at Egyptian-Japanese Schools - Society
The post is available for a period of one to two academic years.
Applicants aged 21 to 23 can apply through a dedicated online portal for 15 days. Candidates will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including motivation for teaching and creative potential in educational settings.
According to a ministry statement, selected trainees will receive intensive technical and personal assessments to identify the most qualified and prepared individuals. Successful candidates will undergo practical training and receive continuous academic and technical support to enhance their professional capabilities and adopt modern teaching methodologies in an interactive learning environment.
The initiative introduces a new pathway for recent graduates to gain real-world classroom experience while being immersed in an advanced educational model aligned with international standards for teacher preparation.
The Ministry described the move as a significant addition to its teacher qualification system and a reflection of the EJS model's commitment to nurturing educators with both academic and pedagogical competence.
Egyptian-Japanese Schools follow the Japanese Tokkatsu philosophy, which emphasizes holistic student development, cooperation, discipline, and responsibility through daily integrated educational activities.
In May, the Ministry announced that 11 new EJS schools will open for the 2025/2026 academic year, raising the total to 69 across the country.
The EJS initiative was launched in 2016 following President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Japan, which led to a strategic partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to support the development of 100 schools with Japanese expertise and funding.

The Egyptian Red Crescent continues its food and relief support to Gaza. On Thursday, it dispatched the tenth convoy of 'Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza,' carrying food and medical aid toward the southern part of the Strip via the Kerem Shalom crossing. The tenth 'Zad Al-Ezzah' convoy was loaded with 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including 2,500 tons of food baskets and flour, as well as tons of personal hygiene and medical supplies, baby formula, and tens of thousands of bags of fresh bread. This effort is part of the Egyptian Red Crescent's work to address the severe food shortages within the Strip. The 'Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza' convoy, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, has so far delivered thousands of tons of varied aid. This includes food supplies, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, medicines, personal hygiene products, and two fuel trucks. The Egyptian Red Crescent has been a key national mechanism for coordinating and mobilizing aid to Gaza since the beginning of the crisis. The Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side. The organization remains on high alert in all its logistical centers, with ongoing efforts to deliver aid that has now surpassed 36,000 trucks, carrying nearly half a million tons of humanitarian and relief supplies, thanks to the efforts of its 35,000 volunteers.

Egypt dispatches 10th aid convoy to Gaza
Egypt's 10th aid convoy started rolling through the Rafah crossing on Thursday early morning towards the inspection point of the Karm Abu Salem crossing, waiting for permission to unload tons of life-saving food and medical supplies for the Palestinian Red Crescent and UN aid agencies to deliver to Gaza. The convoy is part of the emergency Egyptian response, in collaboration with the UN and its humanitarian partners, to stem famine conditions unfolding in Gaza over the past several weeks amid the Israeli genocidal war and engineered famine in the strip. The convoy is carrying freshly baked bread, hot meals, flour, and urgently needed medical supplies for the besieged strip, according to media reports. Late on Wednesday, Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) Executive Director Amal Imam said the total aid sent from Egypt to the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has reached 36,000 trucks carrying over 500,000 tons of aid. Seventy percent of this is humanitarian aid, while the remaining 30 percent consists of relief and medical supplies. "This aid includes 200 trucks coordinated with the Egyptian National Alliance for Civil and Development Work," Imam told the Al-Hayat Al-Youm TV programme. Media reports also confirmed that aid trucks unload their cargoes at the Karm Abu Salem crossing after inspection by the Israeli occupation forces, waiting to be delivered to starved Palestinians by the Palestinian Red Crescent and other UN aid agencies working in the strip. The five-month-old complete Israeli blockade on the entry of food, water, and medicine to Gaza has driven most of the strip's 2.3 million population into famine. This Israeli-induced starvation has killed at least 200 Palestinians, including tens of children. Since 27 July, the ERC has managed to deliver 20,000 tons of aid supplies to Gaza under the Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza humanitarian initiative to save starving Palestinians. However, Israel has continued to delay the entry of aid trucks into Gaza at the Karm Abu Salem crossing as Israeli soldiers inspected trucks over and over for hours at a time. On Wednesday, the Egyptian military spokesman said twelve Egyptian military transport aircraft have airdropped large quantities of food aid to areas in Gaza that are difficult to access by land over the past three days. The airdrops are conducted in parallel with land convoys through the Rafah crossing. On Tuesday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi described the war in Gaza as "a war of starvation and genocide," calling for an immediate ceasefire and the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid to the strip. He also categorically rejected the accusations levelled at Egypt of blocking aid. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
