Deputies arrest 1 adult, 4 teens involved in multi-county high-speed chase
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Tuesday afternoon, two young adults and three teenagers were involved in a high-speed police chase that began in Livingston County and ended in Lansing, according to Livingston County.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff's Office say they tried to pull over a stolen 2020 black BMW X5, but the driver wouldn't stop, leading to a chase on I-96 into Brighton, which turned into a dead-end street.
Deputies say they tried to pull the car over again, but the driver hit the patrol car and got back onto I-96 westbound. They say stop-sticks were unsuccessful in stopping the BMW.
While driving through Livingston County deputies say the driver of the BMW hit two other vehicles on the interstate before getting into Ingham County and eventually Lansing near Jolly Rd and Cedar St where they crashed, hitting several other vehicles.
Deputies say five people, including the driver, jumped out of the BMW and ran.
During the initial investigation, authorities found a 19-year-old man from Lansing they say was the driver. Deputies booked him into the Livingston County jail.
Deputies also found the four other people from the BMW who are all underage. They are 15, 16, 17, and 18 years old.
Livingston County says, 'One of the juveniles had a juvenile apprehension order and was turned over to a juvenile facility in Ingham County. The other juveniles were turned over to parents. The 18-year-old occupant was lodged at the Livingston County Jail for violating his bond conditions from a court case in another county.'
No one was injured in the chase or the crash according to Livingston County.

Proctorsville teen arrested for stalking, unlawful restraint

Seniors in these Cleveland neighborhoods can soon get free doorbell cameras
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Senior citizens who live in Cleveland's Ward 1 will soon be able to apply for a free Ring doorbell camera. 'It would make me feel better than I feel now. It would deter some of the crime in the neighborhood,' said resident Willie McBride. People who live along East 173rd Street in Cleveland were happy to hear Monday that seniors living in Ward 1 can soon apply for a free Ring doorbell camera. 'I'm so thankful that the county made the first step and rewarding us with $160,000. We will match it with discretionary funds,' said Jones. Jones said they hope to give out 2,000 cameras to seniors in Ward 1, which includes the Mt. Pleasant, Union-Miles and Lee-Harvard neighborhoods. New video shows wrong-way driver crashing into 5 cars on Ohio interstate Jones said the cameras are needed now more than ever, especially after seven teenagers were shot in the area of Lee Road and Harvard Avenue over the weekend. 'It sends a strong message that someone is watching you,' said Jones. The cameras and installation are free of charge. Jones said to be eligible, homeowners must be over 55 and make less than $40,000 a year. Jones said seniors will soon be able to apply online and the cameras will be distributed in September.
