Katy Perry Raises Eyebrows As She's Seen On A Date With Justin Trudeau After Split From Orlando Bloom
The "Roar" hitmaker, who recently split from her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, has been struggling to keep her "composure" while performing breakup songs during her shows.
Katy Perry recently sparked concern when she nearly fell off a flying prop during her tour stop in San Francisco.
Katy Perry Seen On Date With Justin Trudeau
Katy Perry isn't just in Canada for her tour, as she has also taken time to enjoy the company of the country's former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
According to photos obtained by TMZ, the 40-year-old singer was seen on a dinner date with Trudeau at Le Violon in Montreal on Monday night.
Perry looked so invested in their conversation and often leaned in across the table as they spoke. Sources told the news outlet that the pair sipped cocktails and shared several dishes, including one with lobster.
They weren't alone in the private establishment, as security guards reportedly hung around to keep tabs on them and monitor things from the mirrored glass.
At some point, the chef came over to their table to exchange pleasantries with them, and after their meal, they returned the gesture as they headed to the kitchen to thank the staff.
It remains unknown if this was a romantic date or just a friendly hangout.
The Singer Has Had Some Challenges In Her Personal Life Amid Her World Tour
Perry is currently in Canada as part of her ongoing "Lifetimes" world tour, and would be performing tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre (formerly Scotiabank Place) in Ottawa, before heading to Montreal tomorrow for another show.
Her tour was earlier plagued with issues of low ticket sales as well as unfinished venue construction, which led to some of her shows in Mexico being cancelled. Things compounded for the worse as she suffered a very public backlash following her all-female trip to space with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin.
Just when fans thought she'd be getting a break, her relationship with longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom ended.
Despite the emotional setback, Perry hasn't stopped giving fans the time of their lives and took things to new heights when she rode on a flying prop during her show in San Francisco on July 18.
Katy Perry's Prop Malfunctioned Mid-Air
In multiple fan videos seen on social media, the pop star was performing her 2013 hit "Roar" while riding on the prop. It then tilted and dropped, causing her to lose her balance for a bit.
In some clips, Perry looked back up at the prop wires and down at the audience before continuing with her performance, per USA Today.
She later took to her Instagram stories to share a blurred, zoomed-in picture of her reaction to the incident, captioning the post "Good Night San Fran."
The Singer Struggles To Keep Her 'Composure' Performing Breakup Song
Following her split from Bloom, the "California Gurls" singer has seemingly found it difficult to maintain her "composure" while having to perform her breakup songs on tour.
Perry usually gives fans the chance to choose a song for her to perform, but was quite uncomfortable with those who voted for her to sing "Not Like the Movies" during her Inglewood, California, concert earlier this month.
"You're gonna make me sing this song in this time in my life?" she asked, referencing her and ex-fiancé Bloom's recent split, per People Magazine. "OK, we'll do it! Because you voted for it. … I'm gonna try not to cry. Don't worry. I won't cry."
She explained that the song dated back to her "first divorce" from ex-husband Russell Brand.
Perry told fans, who also voted for her to perform "The One That Got Away," that she would "try and hold [her] composure while sing[ing] it a week before [her] period."
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Are Focused On 'Coparenting'
According to Us Weekly, the "Teenage Dream" singer and the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor confirmed their split in a joint statement where they shared that they're now focusing on raising their daughter, Daisy.
"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting," a statement from their reps read.
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect," they added.
According to Page Six, a source shared that their split had been "a long time coming" as things between them had been "tense" more recently.
"It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life," the insider shared at the time.

Katy Perry Endures Midair Malfunction as Butterfly Prop Plunges During Concert
Katy Perry had a near-disastrous moment at her San Francisco concert Friday as the singer's giant butterfly prop plunged several feet while the singer was riding on it. One of the set pieces of the Lifetimes Tour features Perry saddled atop the butterfly prop as it floats above the audience during her performance of 'Roar.' However, at the Chase Center on Friday, the prop suffered a brief malfunction and suddenly descended several feet mid-flight, startling Perry and likely the crowd below her: More from Rolling Stone Katy Perry Closes Australia Concert With Tears Amid Orlando Bloom Split Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Break Up: A Complete Timeline of Their Relationship Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom End Engagement, Split After 9 Years After the initial scare, Perry calmly collected herself and — once the butterfly steadied — jumped back into 'Roar.' The rest of the performance continued incident-free. Perry later joked about the near-disaster on Instagram, sharing a screen-grab of a close-up of her face the exact moment the butterfly dropped. 'Goodnight San Fran,' she quipped. The 'Roar' incident marks the second time this summer that a floating concert prop nearly put the artist and the audience at risk: In late June, Beyonce faced a similar situation when her flying car tilted and stalled above a Houston crowd during '16 Carriages,' causing a brief delay (and the song's temporary removal from the Cowboy Carter Tour set list, until the car was replaced with a horse). As People notes, Perry endured a previous stage malfunction during the tour's Australian leg when a flying sphere she rides in began tilting mid-performance, forcing her to cling to the cables connected to the sphere.
