Adam Scott Responds to Ben Stiller Agreeing It's a Missed Opportunity He Wasn't Asked to Host ‘SNL'
Adam Scott won't be hosting 'Saturday Night Live' this season (his 'Innie' won't get the chance either), and Ben Stiller thinks that's a shame. But Scott seems willing to take Lorne Michaels' call should there be one for Season 51.
'SNL' on Thursday announced its final three hosts for Season 50, starting with Quinta Brunson, followed by the hosting debut of Walton Goggins, and concluding with Scarlett Johansson. Shortly after the cork board announcement from the show was posted, Stiller responded to a comment saying it was a 'missed opportunity fr' that Scott wasn't among them, simply saying, 'I agree.'

IndieWire spoke with Scott on the red carpet where he's being honored for the annual Time 100 gala (his old 'Parks and Recreation' co-star Nick Offerman wrote up the blurb naming Scott one of the 100 most influential people of the year). When asked if he was interested in hosting the legendary variety show, Scott said 'Of course. It would be amazing.'
''SNL' is, I think it's hard to argue it's not the greatest show on television because of its longevity and because of its influence on culture,' Scott said. '50 years of really kind of guiding culture in a lot of ways but also reacting to culture at the same time. The cast right now is unbelievable. They're really in one of their peaks, I think. So yeah, of course. It would be amazing.'
While 'SNL' lampooned buzzy series and films like 'The White Lotus' and 'Anora' and even brought Oscar winner Mikey Madison on to host, 'Severance' has gotten the short shrift, but we'd love to see what they can do with all the inscrutable goat stuff on the Apple TV+ show. And we'd love to see Scott reunite with 'SNL' great Amy Poehler; we bet she could do a great Harmony Cobel.
'SNL' returns May 3 with the return of Brunson to Studio 8H, and Season 50 concludes on May 17. 'Severance' will also return for a third season after receiving critical praise and dominating streaming charts in its return for Season 2.

Trace Cyrus's Scathing Instagram Post About His "Evil" Dad, Billy Ray, Is So Wild That You Have To Read It
Trace Cyrus is really at odds with his dad. On June 10, Miley Cyrus's older brother posted an Instagram calling out their dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, with a fairly heartbreaking accusation, claiming that he skipped their grandmother's funeral to attend a fashion show in Italy. "This man is so hungry for fame it's pathetic," Trace wrote with a photo of his dad. "He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn't come to LA for Mammie's funeral while he was still married to my mom." Billy Ray and Tish were married for almost 30 years before they split in 2022. Trace is one of Billy Ray's five kids with Tish Cyrus, along with Brandi Cyrus, 38, Miley Cyrus, 32, Braison Cyrus, 31, and Noah Cyrus, 25. "Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded," Trace continued, "then he still didn't come even after the plane was paid for." Related: Here's Why People Are Raising Their Eyebrows Over Chris Pratt's Post About The Fatal Shooting Of His 'Parks And Recreation' Costar Jonathan Joss Mammie is Tish's mother, Loretta Finley, who died in 2020, two years before she and Billy Ray split. "You're the lamest man to ever walk planet earth," Trace added. "Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I'm old like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it." Related: 21 Times Celebrities Revealed Wildly Juicy, Shady, Or Even Disturbing Things In Interviews Following up on his post about Billy Ray, Trace shared an Instagram story, writing, "Also why does he think that homeless hairstyle looks good? So weird." One person in the comments suggested Trace's comments "seem like a cry for help from a son that desperately needs attention from his father," which prompted a response from the Metro Station singer. "I'm past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again," he said. "I've surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet," Trace continued. "There's nothing left to learn from his [sic] except from his mistakes. I had hope at one point but I'm convinced he's finally a lost cause." "I'll continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have. I will raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances are." On the same day as Trace's posts, Miley revealed on an episode of Monica Lewinsky's Reclaiming podcast how she fixed her "hard" family feud with Billy Ray. "Half of us weren't speaking to each other at one point," Miley said, "and we cleaned all that up." She said of her parents' divorce, "In that situation, I watched what happens when you don't clean things up as they're happening. They really do stack, and then all of a sudden you go, 'Oh my god, it's been 10 years, and this is a mess that I barely even know how to start. This is emotional hoarding.'" "I just kind of bust through the pile that's stacked and just go, 'I'm here. You're here. Let's start by having a good time together,'" Miley shared. "And then as we start bringing some happiness and joy into each other's life, then we'll just be in a better place to have these conversations. 'Cause I'd rather get it balanced first." "We're so messy we didn't even do any of that," Miley said, responding to Monica's question about family therapy. "To get each other in a room to even get to counseling would have been a war. So, it was easier to just go, 'White flag,'" she continued. "I always wanted my family to feel like I was the safe place that I always had the white flag when they came to talk to me." We'll let you know if Billy Ray responds to Trace's posts. Harvey Weinstein Receives Mixed Verdict, but Found Guilty of Sexual Assault in New York Retrial
The jury in Harvey Weinstein's New York retrial reached a partial mixed verdict on Wednesday, June 11, finding the disgraced former movie mogul guilty of one count of criminal sexual assault against former 'Project Runway' assistant Miriam Haley and not guilty of a separate count of criminal sexual assault against model Kaja Sokola, per reporting in the Associated Press. The jury has yet to reach a verdict on a third charge of third-degree rape against aspiring actress Jessica Mann, and is expected to resume deliberations on Thursday. The retrial of Weinstein's criminal case in New York was prompted by an April 2024 ruling from the New York Court of Appeals that deemed 'egregious errors' were made in Weinstein's 2020 trial, in which he was found guilty of assaulting Haley and committing third-degree rape against Mann. Regardless of how the New York retrial plays out, Weinstein is still serving a 16-year prison sentence following his conviction on three counts of rape and sexual assault in his 2022 Los Angeles trial. As the jury deliberated on Monday, the foreperson approached Judge Curtis Farber to discuss a private matter, per the AP. The judge later explained that the juror did not want to return to the deliberation room. 'He said words to the effect of 'I can't go back in there with the other jurors,'' the judge said, adding that the juror was being pressured to change his position by other jurors. 'He did indicate that at least one other juror made comments to the effect of 'I'll meet you outside one day,' and there's yelling and screaming.'Weinstein's lawyers saw the situation as cause to ask for a mistrial, with defense attorney Arthur Aidala saying 'I don't think the court is protecting this juror. Period.' But prosecutor Matthew Colangelo pushed back, saying that tense conversations are standard procedure during trials. 'He said he'd made up his mind, he didn't want to change it, and people were pressuring him to change it. That's what jury deliberations involve,' Colangelo said. But the trial continued, and the jury began Wednesday by re-hearing Mann's testimony about Weinstein's alleged rape in 2013.
