EastEnders villain's exit 'sealed' after disgusting secret revealed

Daily Mirror07-05-2025

Vicki Fowler was left fuming in tonight's episode of EastEnders after learning Joel's true involvement in Ross' debt - and some fans think his exit could be on the way...
EastEnders finally revealed Joel's huge secret in tonight's episode, as his stepmother Vicki Fowler also learnt the truth Ross' debts, which Sharon paid off, for the first time.
Joel and Ross were introduced to EastEnders fans earlier this year when they came to Walford with Vicki Fowler for Martin's funeral. The residents were stunned to learn that Vicki was no longer with Spencer Moon, and was in a new relationship with Ross, who came with son, Joel.

Upon their arrival, fans were aware Ross owed £50,000 and it became evident quite quickly that the money had something to do with Joel. Tonight, Ross revealed all to Vicki, telling her how Joel took a picture up a girls skirt, and proceeded to send it to all his friends.

To Vicki's disgust, Ross revealed he had to pay the family off, as he "couldn't risk getting the police involved." However, Ross is still yet to tell Vicki that he discovered Joel had secretly recorded his intimate moment with Avani.
Upon learning about the reason behind Ross' debt, Vicki went storming into the living room to express her disgust with her stepson.
"First things first, I'm moving you to a boys' school," she told Joel who tried to object, telling Vicki he liked Walford High, and had friends there.
"The girls don't want some pervet in their class!" a fuming Vicki responded. "You'll find new mates and hopefully learn to respect women."

Could the move mean Joel will be leaving Walford for good? Fans already think Joel will be in trouble when Avani's dad Ravi gets his hands on him.
"Bring it on for when ravi finds out what Joel has done to avani he will be on the train tracks!! #EastEnders," tweeted one fan, while another predicted: "He will get dangled off a bridge, and also dropped from it," referencing his famous scene with Barney Mitchell.
"It'll be brutal, I know," said a third. "But I bet he'll be restrained by someone before he unleashes 100% of that brutality on Joel's head."
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

EastEnders stars tease Joel's downfall as 'trouble' ahead in 'big' new storyline

EastEnders cast members Shane Richie and Sophie Khan Levy have both hinted there could be twists and turns when teenager Joel Marshall's sickening actions are exposed There could be a downfall set for EastEnders teen Joel Marshall, who has been at the centre of some dark scenes recently. The son of Ross Marshall only arrived weeks ago, but he's already targeted one teenage girl with a sex tape filmed without her consent, while it was also revealed something happened with a girl while he was living in Australia. It was said to involve an inappropriate image, and it led to Joel having to flee while he also owed someone money in a bid to pay the girl's family off. ‌ It was clear Joel had not changed though, recently isolating Avani Nandra-Hart from her friends before sleeping with her, only to record her without telling her. He showed the video to pal Tommy Moon, while Avani has been trolled over sleeping with Joel - but the video is yet to emerge. ‌ Amid this, Joel has been leading Tommy astray, and recent scenes saw the latter being introduced to pornography by the bad influence. Joel appears to have some worrying views and thoughts about girls, with fans fearing what's ahead for the character and Tommy amid a shocking assault in upcoming scenes. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, two stars somewhat involved in the ongoing storyline have teased "trouble" on the way and a "big storyline" ahead. There's also hints of what could happen if Avani's parents find out about the sickening video, with a revenge teased. READ MORE: Coronation Street star speaks out over major show change and teases 'exciting' twists Actress Sophie Khan Levy who plays Avani's mother Priya on the BBC hope hinted that if the truth does get revealed, Priya and ex Ravi may take revenge on Joel, suggesting they'd go "crazy" at the teen. Meanwhile, Shane Richie, who plays Tommy's father Alfie Moon, has also promised more drama ahead. He addressed a huge storyline on the way that was just about to kick off, and hinted it could be linked to Tommy and Joel. While he didn't confirm this, the timings would certainly match up. Shane said: "There is more trouble ahead and while I was away there was a lot filmed. Sonny who plays Tommy texted me saying, 'Shane, I'm doing this and that'. It's great. It's big stuff." ‌ As for Sophie, she spilled on Ravi and Priya's likely reaction: "I really don't know. I think I can imagine them two going crazy. After what she was like with Jack Branning... that was an awful moment for Avani. "Priya and Ravi are both quick to get angry so who knows what Joel will face when they find out. We'll have to see!" Shane also teased big scenes ahead as he addressed Ben Wadey replacing Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw. He shared with us: "There have been a lot of positive changes and everyone's really embracing it. Everyone worries when you change Executive Producer but the handover has been brilliant. Chris and Ben are such big fans of the show and that's important. "Ben has already told me what is ahead. There's a lot of fireworks, there always are. There's a story that's about to kick in which will carry on through til after Christmas, an it's a big story. You thought the 40th was big, wait until you see this story that's all I'm saying."

Emmerdale confirms full-time exit as legend is gone for good

It was Eric Pollard's (Chris Chittell) birthday in Emmerdale tonight, but one of the gifts he received wasn't a happy one. Eric has slowly come to accept that he needs extra help around the house. The beloved character lives with Parkinson's, and has now reached a stage where he cannot do small tasks such as putting his shoes on, or drinking from a cup. Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) decided to organise a carer for Eric, but his pride got in the way. He felt the lady was patronising, and also couldn't accept that his poor health had got him to this point. The only person who managed to get through to Eric was Kerry. She is never afraid to say what she thinks, and admitted on a number of occasions that she thinks Eric is stubborn, grumpy, and ungrateful. The two friends made a deal that Eric would pay Kerry to help look after him. She agreed, and one of the first things she did was take his bank card into town for some shopping. However, when Eric started getting loads of bank notifications, he assumed that Kerry was just splashing his cash for her own gain. When she got home, he apologised after learning that she had bought things specifically to make his life easier. More Trending Eric hoped at the start of tonight's episode that his birthday would be a pleasant one, free from drama. Sadly, he then opened some mail from Brenda (Lesley Dunlop), his ex. Eric later revealed to Kerry that she had sent him a 'Dear John Letter', also known as an announcement that their relationship had absolutely come to an end. In April, Brenda and Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) left the village to go on a cruise for three months. Before she departed, Brenda told Eric that she'd return if he needed her – but that isn't going to be the case anymore. View More » And suffice to say Eric was gutted. As it comes to an end, with the final episode airing on Wednesday evening, June 11, many viewers have been sharing their views on the last seven episodes. The fifth series of the BBC competition programme introduced us to five teams, former married couple Yin and Gaz, sisters Elizabeth and Letitia, young couple Fin and Sioned, brothers Brian and Melvyn, and mother and son duo Caroline and Tom. ‌ While Yin and Gaz were eliminated after not reaching the third checkpoint, the four other teams have managed to travel all the way from the Great Wall of China at Huanghuacheng in China, through Nepal and into India. ‌ The final checkpoint will be in Kanyakumari - the southernmost tip of India. The seventh episode saw Caroline and Tom reach first position while Brian and Melvyn ended up last with a 17-hour difference, despite finishing on top in the last checkpoint. While it has undoubtedly been an exciting race for the competitors and the viewers watching from home, with many twists and turns along the way, some fans have expressed their feelings on the recent series and have called for change. On X, formerly known as Twitter, some fans have asked for the series to show less "sob story" segments. Article continues below With each episode, viewers get to find out more about the contestants, who are often friends, family or couples, their lives before the race and their reasons behind taking part in it. One fan, named @Wilderauthor, on X said: "This series producers have ruined Race Across the World with long drawn out sob story segments, it's too much! "People watch for the locations, the experiences, the excitement of the race across the world. Also it jumps too much, one moment they are stuck next they arrive, no info." ‌ Some fans agreed, with one saying: "Said exactly the same last night watching the show." While another fan, named @Supernovadragon on X, had this to say: "Please for future series, less sob stories and more racing. I'm getting bored of the stories." In response, another viewer remarked: "It's fine getting to know the contestants but when it detracts from seeing the adventures there's an issue". ‌ @ThornhillNina said: "These people are watchable enough, they are all worthy. Please stop forcing sob stories it's not X Factor." But not everyone felt the same way. One fan, named @lfc_lara, said: "I'm so obsessed with Brian and Melvyn from Race Across the World. To see older British men speak about their childhoods in the way they do is so moving and so important for reminding young men: your feelings are valid." Article continues below Another fan agreed and responded with: "Watching it now, they are so open about their childhood trauma. Very moving." Viewers can watch the final of Race Across the World on Wednesday, June 11, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
