Laura Byrne divides opinion with a controversial feature in her new $2million home: 'Looks like spew'
Bachelor star Laura Byrne has unveiled the most controversial feature in her seaside home renovation, leaving fans divided.
On Monday, the Life Uncut host shared the end result of covering her grand old fireplace in retro tiles that her followers said 'look like spew.'
Laura and her husband Matty 'J' Byrne splashed out $2.19million on a rundown 'blue chip' home in Ulladulla, about 230 kilometres south of Sydney last year.
More than 120,000 people have opted in to follow the Bachelor power couple's renovation @chante.mer.house on Instagram.
When Laura first shared the tiles that she 'fell in love with' in September, they proved so divisive that she posted the follow-up: 'So I take it you don't like the tiles'.
The simple photo, that showed blush, deep purple, rust, and mustard-coloured tiles had attracted thousands of fiery comments.
'As you guys know, the "spew tiles" have been the most controversial part of this reno,' Laura began in her fireplace reveal video.
'But I wanted to do something bold and beautiful and really make it the heart of our home.
'Here is the great fireplace reveal for everyone who has been following along. The most controversial of all our reno choices.
'I found these tiles and absolutely fell in love with them, and thought that maybe a green border would be the way to go.'
Laura's intention was to create 'contrast' and add to her '70s inspired 'retro' style interiors with the green tile border.
But instead, she and Matt decided 'to bag' (plaster) the bottom half of the fireplace and add curved edges so that it matches the rest of the house.
'Things started to come together, and so we threw away the green [tiles], we bagged the whole bottom half of the fireplace, and we put in this beautiful soft pink grout to tie it together,' Laura said.
'I could not be more happy with how it has turned out. It's so beautiful and here's your reminder that it's okay to do something really fun with your interiors.'

In one camp of opinion, naysayers said the tiles looked 'a bit like the urine chart at the doctors', 'will not age well' and are 'pretty terrible' as well as 'DISGUSTING.'
In the other, some design fans said they adored the colours and encouraged Laura to 'go with her instinct'.
Somewhere in-between the two were the more polite critics who said they didn't like the design, but that Laura should do what she wants with her house.
However, feedback on the completed fireplace has been overwhelmingly positive.
'Love that you modernised it but kept the character, choosing to use the tones and colours of the original space,' one commented.
'I just love that you have your own unique style and are going for it. It feels like a home that is loved,' added another.
'Glad you kept the layout pretty similar to the original. Appreciate how sympathetic you are to the old girl. Doing a great Reno,' wrote another fan.
The 'soft exaggerated edges of the fireplace' were deemed 'so cool and different' by another supporter.
Many fans praised the decision 'to not include the green tiles', saying that it 'saved' Laura's vision.
'She's quirky and I love it! Matches the vibe of the house,' a follower wrote.
Laura and Matt recently hit the 'halfway' milestone of renovating the two-storey oceanfront property that was was last sold in 1984 for $62,500.
The reality TV stars turned entrepreneurs expanded their multi-million property portfolio by purchasing the dilapidated oceanfront home last October.
The locale holds special meaning for the happy couple, as they tied the knot in 2022 at nearby Cupitts Estate Winery.

Brittany Hockley left heartbroken by 'burned pizza' wedding cake after paying $1,000 for culinary eyesore: 'We ordered from a French patisserie... and got Temu'
Brittany Hockley has been left broken-hearted after she shelled out $1,000 for a lavish wedding cake - only to be delivered a culinary disaster. The former Bachelor star, 37, married Swiss footballer Ben Siegrist in a clifftop ceremony in Bali last week. While Brittany's nuptials went off without a hitch, the genetically blessed couple were left red-faced at the reception when they came face to face with their 'Temu' sponge that looked like a 'four-stacked pizza'. On Wednesday, Brittany shared an image of the ornate sponge she ordered, complete with piped dollops of rich white cream and a vibrant topping of fresh berries, and an image of what was delivered to illustrate her heartache. Instead of the berry-laden showstopper she hoped for, the final product resembled 'four burned pizzas slapped together' - dull, brown, and uninspired. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The disappointing dessert left Brittany and her guests in shock. Brittany's co-host Laura Byrne did not hold back when describing the disaster on their Life Uncut podcast. 'I kid you not, this cake looked like a four-stacked pizza,' she began. 'It looked like someone had gotten four humongous supreme pizzas and layered them on top of each other,' she continued. 'It was covered in little cut-up strawberries which looked like tomatoes!' 'It was like we went to a French patisserie... and got Temu!' added Brittany. 'We tried to cut it, but it was so burned it just crumbled everywhere.' The presenter added she was so horrified by the cake she pleaded with guests not to take any photos of it. The couple's wedding took place last week at Pandawa Cliff Estate, which promises a 'dramatic and romantic clifftop setting overlooking the Indian Ocean' and stunning views of Bali's Bukit Peninsula. Brittany was ever the blushing bride on her big day, walking down the aisle in a strapless dress by Steven Khalil which featured a lace corset with dramatic long train. Brittany and Ben gave followers a glimpse into the nuptials, sharing a duo of loved-up snaps from the big day to Instagram. One showed Ben romantically embracing his new bride as he leaned in for a newlywed kiss. 'From the very first day, it was you,' Brittany captioned the images. 'Across any ocean, it is you. For the rest of our lives, it will always be you. Mr and Mrs Siegrist 4.6.2025,' she added, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis.

West Lothian Film Festival announces partnership with breast cancer support charity based in Bathgate
Breast Friends and Family emerged as the winner from 30 nominated organisations West Lothian Film Festival has confirmed that its first official charity partner is Breast Friends and Family. The announcement follows more than five months of public voting and 2,164 individual ballots cast, and the partnership will run for the next three years. Nominations opened in October last year and the public were invited to nominate and vote via social media for local causes they felt deserved recognition and support. There were 30 organisations in the running, with Breast Friends and Family emerging as the winner after securing more than 700 public votes. Breast Friends and Family aims to support patients through a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Based on Glasgow Road in Bathgate they provide practical, emotional, and peer support for breast cancer patients across West Lothian. From its office, affectionately known as The Heart, the charity distributes treatment support bags, runs wellbeing sessions, and offers a vital sense of solidarity to those facing diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. West Lothian Film Festival has attracted 306 films — an unprecedented increase from last year's 82 submissions. All submissions are currently in the hands of the 20 strong volunteer judging panel. Festival Director Christopher McPhillips said: 'Every nominated charity had something meaningful to offer West Lothian, and we're grateful to have celebrated them all over the past five months. With 747 votes, Breast Friends and Family clearly resonated with our community, representing compassion, strength, and unity. 'The people of West Lothian chose them as their charity of choice, and we're proud to use our platform to support and celebrate the incredible work they do. While it's been an honour to spotlight 30 brilliant organisations, we're equally proud to now walk alongside Breast Friends and Family as our official partner for the next three years.' As part of the three-year charity partnership, the festival has committed to: full marketing and promotional support, volunteer days from the festival team, and a dedicated Breast Friends and Family showcase day at each edition of the festival from 2026 to 2028. Hazel Orr of Breast Friends and Family said: 'We were delighted to be nominated. The 30 nominated charities are all worthy charities and community groups, so we knew we faced some strong competition. 'On first meeting Christopher, we realised that this could be a fantastic opportunity for Breast Friends and Family, with so many ways he could help promote our charity through the film festival as well as his business associates and connections. It made us think about how we connect with our followers through social media, through our own Facebook and Instagram platforms and how we could encourage our followers to like, vote and share posts. 'We grabbed the opportunity offered by the film festival and Condor Entertainment, to go along on one of their media days, to record an interview about how the charity came about and what it provides. "We loved sharing the finished result. And, we took advantage of the leaflets and posters provided by Artos Digital and Clear Colour, not just taking them to our events but sharing with work colleagues, neighbours, family and friends, at every opportunity. 'Thank you, Christopher, and the West Lothian Film Festival for this fabulous opportunity, thank you to the 2000+ people who voted and to those who voted for Breast Friends and Family. There's also an online fundraiser been set up by the film festival for Breast Friends and Family:
