Kelly Carlson feels "shocked and saddened" by Julian McMahon's death.
The actor died from cancer on July 2, aged 56, and Kelly - who played his on-screen love interest in Nip/Tuck - has now taken to social media to react to the news, admitting that she feels "completely shocked".
The 49-year-old actress said in a video posted on Instagram: "I just heard about the passing of Julian McMahon and I've gotten a lot of really nice messages on Instagram and I just checked 'cause I was just told and I was trying to verify it, right? Because people can say stuff like that, but it looks to be true — and oh, my gosh, I'm completely shocked and saddened by it.
"I didn't know he wasn't well for a while. But I will say my heart goes out to Kelly, his wife, his daughter and Brooke Burns, his ex-wife, who they remain close friends and raise their daughter together and I think he has a sister…"
Kelly subsequently described her former co-star as a "good friend".
She said: "It's tough to process a little bit because he played my on-and-off husband for several years, [he] was a good friend and my acting partner. Anyways, Jules, thank you for a great seven years on Nip/Tuck together and we had so much fun."
Kelly also observed that Julian had a "great life".
The actress said: "I hope he had a peaceful journey. I wish him a peaceful journey and I know he had a full, great life so that's a good thing."
Julian's passing was announced by his wife Kelly McMahon on Friday (04.07.25).
In a statement given to Deadline, she said: "With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.
"Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.
"We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories."

The kind who checks in. The kind who remembers. The kind who shares. The kind who tells you the truth, even when it's uncomfortable—but always with love. "My heart is with Kelly, with Madison, and with Iliana—his girls, his world. He adored them. You could feel it in every conversation, every story, every text. He was a family man above all, and he loved deeply. "Losing him feels unreal. Too soon. Too unfair. "Rest, my friend. I'll carry your laugh with me. "Forever Cole. Forever Julian. Kelly Clarkson postpones her Las Vegas residency

Kelly Clarkson feels "devastated" after postponing the opening of her Las Vegas residency. The 43-year-old pop star was supposed to begin her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday (04.07.25), but Kelly was forced to postpone her plans amid concerns about her voice. The chart-topping star wrote on Instagram: "We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans. I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars. "The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. (sic)" Kelly is determined to begin her residency in the best fashion possible, and she's already looking forward to her first performance. Her post continued: "The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. "I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on. (sic)" Kelly's Las Vega residency was originally set to feature 18 performances between July 4 and November 15. The pop star previously performed a series of sold-out shows at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in 2023 and 2024. And earlier this year, Kelly revealed what fans could expect from her residency. She said on the Today show: "This is totally different for us, how we're doing it. "It's called Studio Sessions, and the reason for that is I feel like you don't get live anymore - maybe back in the '70s - but you really don't get live what you really feel in the studios. "There's no tracks at all of any instruments or anything. It's all live. It just feels amazing in the studio, so we wanted to bring that into the setting for everybody, so it's going to be really fun."
