Longtime Browns RB and legend Nick Chubb expected to sign with Texans
Longtime Browns RB and legend Nick Chubb expected to sign with Texans We have likely seen the last of running back Nick Chubb in a Cleveland Browns uniform. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has reported that, barring a bad physical, the former All-Pro running back is expected to sign with the Houston Texans on Monday. This comes after Chubb suffered season-ending injuries in back-to-back seasons to end his time in Cleveland. This includes a devastating tear of his ACL and MCL in 2023. The writing was on the wall in Cleveland at the end of April. The Browns drafted not one, but two running backs in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL draft. They used a top-40 pick on Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins, then turned around to use their fourth round pick on Tennessee's Dylan Sampson. The Browns also renegotiated the final year of Jerome Ford's contract to lower his base salary, effectively securing his roster spot. The Browns have committed to overhauling their running back room with youth. Chubb ends his time in Cleveland with over 6,800 yards and 51 touchdowns on the ground. He made four Pro Bowls during his time in Northeast Ohio. He will forever go down as one of the best to put on the brown and orange uniform over his seven years spent in Cleveland. Best of luck to a Cleveland legend as he looks to rejuvenate his career in Houston.

Can The Falcons Overtake The Buccaneers For The NFC South?
Can The Falcons Overtake The Buccaneers For The NFC South? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Falcons were two games behind the Buccaneers in the standings event though the Falcons were 2-0 against their division rival. With the youth of the Panthers and the quarterback dilemma of the Saints, the Falcons are the main competition for the Bucs, and it will be an interesting battle in 2025. Advertisement It is very important for the Falcons to not drop certain games, especially against division rivals. The NFC has been dominant and it's the kind of conference that is requiring at least 10-11 win to have a shot at making the playoffs. Feb 25, 2025; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Atlanta Falcons coach Raheem Morris speaks during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Lee-Imagn Images The team has improved over the last few seasons, and they believe that the team they have now is the one that can get them over the hump. The playoffs have eluded the Falcons since 2017, and with Raheem Morris as coach they hope that the improvement reaches an all-time high. The Bucs have won the NFC South every year since 2021, and even when they were second in the division, they ended up winning the Super Bowl. The Falcons must step up and take that crown from them, and they must utilize all their weapons and step up on defense. Advertisement There are still many questions that the Falcons have not answered yet, those include the statuses of Kirk Cousins and Kyle Pitts. There is still a long way to go until the start of the season. The Falcons are hoping to finally get back to the playoffs, and 2025 is the year to do it. They had a successful draft and a good offseason overall. There Are Multiple Trade Proposals For Kirk Cousins
There Are Multiple Trade Proposals For Kirk Cousins originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Cousins signed a $180 million contract with the Falcons in 2024 and would end up struggling in his first season with the team. Now, as it stands, Cousins is linked to multiple teams around the league and could be moved real soon. Advertisement Multiple teams in both conferences have multiple trade proposals for Cousins, and all of these teams are in need of a veteran presence at quarterback. All of these teams have assets and any one of them could be the next home for Cousins. Kirk Cousins (18) celebrates after a Davis-Imagn Images Pittsburgh Steelers The Steelers need a quarterback more than any other team in the NFL, as their number one is currently Mason Rudolph. They also do not have experience outside of Rudolph on the roster, and have not been able to sign Aaron Rodgers. The proposal would send multiple draft pics, along with a swap of a Day 3 pick to the Falcons for Cousins. A sixth-round pick that can turn into a fifth rounder, depending on how much Cousins plays, and Atlanta might have to pay most of the guaranteed money owed to him. Advertisement Minnesota Vikings The Vikings had traded for Sam Howell during the draft, and he is currently the backup for J.J. McCarthy. The proposal for the Vikings would send Howell and a few day three picks to the Falcons. Vikings would pay around $12 million of the guaranteed money and help the Falcons more than most teams. The Vikings would not mind reuniting with Cousins and having a veteran presence in the locker room for McCarthy. Cleveland Browns The Browns already have four healthy quarterbacks on their roster, but none of them are screaming full-time starter. They have been linked to Cousins all off-season and that only lowered when they drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Advertisement The trade proposal would send Kenny Pickett and multiple picks to Atlanta for Cousins. It all depends on how the quarterbacks show out at OTA's and training camp. These three teams could make a move at any given moment, and the Falcons could make calls all around the league.
