Alarmed pilots on the flight from Los Angeles radioed ahead to report an emergency and police boarded it after landing.
The kids — understood to be from well-heeled US families — were taken into custody, had mugshots and fingerprints taken, and told they could face jail sentences.
Their plans to attend summer camps across Europe were in tatters.

Cops revoked the teens' Electronic Travel Authorisations, which had allowed them to visit the UK.
Virgin initially refused to fly the kids back after the chaos aboard Flight VS008 on July 14.
When bosses relented, they 'took revenge' by sending them to various cities across the US and telling parents — some said to be sports stars — to collect them.
A source said the kids bought booze before the flight, then smuggled it on.

The BBC has reportedly hired a leading law firm to investigate claims of cocaine use among two stars of Strictly Come Dancing, with rumours suggesting that their drug use was widely known on the programme. According to The Sun, one of the claims involves a Strictly celeb who purportedly made a quip about another person's wide-eyed appearance, insinuating drug use, with the remark: "Have you seen their pupils . . . they're off their face". Moreover, The Sun has disclosed that a celeb has alleged it's well-known amongst the show's insiders that two stars indulged in cocaine use, sparking widespread gossip within the cast. An insider remarked: "These claims are extremely serious and should be taken as such. Given only last year that the BBC's Director-General promised to clean up Strictly, it seems particularly shocking. The idea of the show's stars discussing drug-taking is deeply disturbing. The BBC have known about these allegations for some time, and acknowledged receiving them." It's understood that the taxpayer-supported broadcaster is "taking firm action". The Sudanese man appeared in court accused of attempting to swipe the girl of ten while she was with her father. He had been living in a three-star, £100-a-night hotel in leafy Manchester suburb Wilmslow. Prosecutors say he travelled two miles south, where he made the attempt at taking the child near the Walnut Tree Playing Field. Abdelrazig appeared before JPs on July 15.
