2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally
(WHTM) — When Ford introduced the all-electric Mustang Mach-E a few years ago it was like many electric cars, fast, but not very entertaining.
Now for an extra $6,000 in the Mach-E Rally, you'll be grinning ear to ear. With all-wheel-drive, adjustable magnetic ride suspension, 480 horsepower and more. This thing is a blast.
White wheels, a hatch-mounted spoiler and stripes give it visual appeal too.
EPA rates it at 265 miles range, about 20 less than a base Mach-E, but in my opinion, worth it.
I don't care for the seats in a regular Mach-E, but these are better.
The rally package includes Ford's blue cruise self-driving feature. A Tesla-like center screen works well once you get used to it. More room is freed up in the center console because of the rotary gear selector. Also, clever is the audio knob that doubles as a fan speed control.
Two adults will be comfortable in row two, three would be snug. The battery pack sits high in the Mach-E and that cuts into cargo space.
Even on ice and snow handling and braking are balanced and power is excellent. One of the most entertaining electric cars available.
So for the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E rally, I say thumbs up to the fun factor. Excellent traction and decent range. Thumbs down to the price.

Ford is offering what appears to be a nationwide lease deal on the base Mustang Mach-E Select of $344 per month for 39 months, with a $4,343 down payment. If you don't mind paying a bit more, you can step up to the Premium model with a $365 monthly payment and $4,764 due at signing. While both of those lease offers are already a bargain, Ford offers even better deals for specific locations. Residents of Los Angeles and Honolulu can get behind the wheel of a Mustang Mach-E Select for just $299 per month for a 24-month lease term, with $4,099 due at signing. In Seattle and Anchorage, you can park a Premium model in your driveway for just $349 per month for 36 months with a $5,000 down payment. New York City residents can get a Premium model upgraded with AWD and an extended range battery for a $349 monthly payment on a 36-month term and $5,299 due at signing. Both the nationwide and area-specific offers come with a 10,500-mile annual mileage allowance and are valid through July 7th. You might recognize this TeslaVision campaign seeking fan-submitted ads as a callback to the Project Loveday contest from 2017 (that was the year the Model 3 started shipping, but the new Roadster and Semi did not). Beyond the request for free advertising labor amid an ongoing brand crisis and political quagmire, Tesla's 2025 request is also designed to try to flood social media, requiring posts on YouTube, X, and Instagram by July 17th to maybe win a Model Y and a trip to Gigafactory Texas.

Elon Musk says Tesla robotaxi rides in Austin 'tentatively' set to begin June 22
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Tuesday that his company's robotaxi service is "tentatively" set to launch in Austin, Texas, on June 22. In a post on X, Musk indicated that he's flying from Los Angeles to Austin for the kickoff, which he'd previously said would be sometime in June. When a commenter asked when public rides will start, Musk said the current plan is for June 22, and that the first ride from the factory to a customer's house will take place on June 28. "We are being super paranoid about safety, so the date could shift," Musk wrote. Earlier on Tuesday, Musk shared a video on X showing that Tesla was testing driverless vehicles on the roads of Austin without a human safety supervisor behind the wheel. The eight-second clip showed the latest version of the Model Y SUV, painted black with a white "Robotaxi" graffiti-style logo painted on it, navigating an intersection and pausing to allow pedestrians to traverse a crosswalk. Musk recently told CNBC's David Faber that Tesla will start with a very small rollout, including about 10 to 20 of its robotaxis, with a new, "unsupervised" version of the company's FSD or "Full Self-Driving" technology installed. The tests will involve the Model Y, not the futuristic looking CyberCab that Tesla plans to produce next year. Musk said Tesla will "geofence" the service, limiting where the robotaxis can initially operate, and that employees will remotely monitor the fleet.
