F1 star Max Verstappen creates controversy with dangerous contact on George Russell during Spanish Grand Prix
Formula 1 star Max Verstappen created a stir in the waning moments of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix as he appeared to purposely make contact with driver George Russell.
The issue began on the restart with about four laps to go in the race. Verstappen was attempting to catch some speed but got sideways on the front stretch. He saved his car from spinning and crashing but Charles Leclerc was able to get around him. Leclerc and Verstappen touched briefly as the Ferrari racer moved around the Red Bull driver.
As Leclerc zoomed past Verstappen, Russell was on the Austrian's tail as well. Russell went to the inside of Verstappen in the first turn and the Red Bull racer was forced off the track. He ended up ahead of Russell for the time being. Replay showed that Verstappen and Russell made contact.
Verstappen was then told by his team to let Russell pass him to alleviate any possible concerns over whether he illegally got in front of the Mercedes driver.
On Lap 64, it appeared Verstappen was going to let Russell through, but the two ended up making wheel-to-wheel contact. Russell fell back and Verstappen pulled ahead.
"What the f---?… He just crashed into me," Russell was heard on the radio.
Verstappen eventually gave up the position to Russell before the race was over. Russell finished in fourth and Verstappen initially finished fifth but then was hit with a 10-second time penalty. He dropped to 10th after the discipline.
Oscar Piastri picked up another win for McLaren on the year. His teammate, Lando Norris, finished in second. Leclerc was third.

‘Operation Mincemeat': Next Stop, The World

More Malone announce the show's world tour Operation Mincemeat, the hit Broadway and West End musical is embarking on an epic tour that will bring the production around the globe with performances throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Mexico and New Zealand. The show, which began in 2019 at the 77-seat New Diorama Theatre in London, tells a wild I-cannot-believe-that-happened story in the midst of WWII. In 1943, when most of mainland Europe was under Nazi occupation, the Allied forces knew that in order to get a stronghold on the war, they had to invade what Winston Churchill called 'Europe's underbelly.' Determined to invade Sicily, the Allied forces had to do whatever they could to keep their plans from the Nazis so they could attack without massive resistance. But how? The British naval intelligence hatched a stranger-than-fiction plan to get a corpse and gave him a detailed fake identity and back story. They dressed him as a British officer they named Major William Martin and attached a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist filled with fake mission papers revealing plans to invade Sardinia. The body was dumped off the coast of Spain so the briefcase with key details about the fake invasion could be washed up and fall into the hands of the Nazis. And crazily enough, the plan worked. The mission inspired Hitler to move thousands of troops from Sicily to Sardinia and became a turning point in the war. And upon hearing this story—Natasha Hodgson, Zoë Roberts, David Cumming and Felix Hagan—the writers/composers and masterminds behind the theater collective SplitLip, knew it would have the makings for a great musical. Make that a madcap musical comedy with a lot of heart. 'We had been making comedy together for a while and love getting into a room together, making ourselves and audiences laugh,' says Hodgson. 'We decided to embark on the biggest challenge of our lives, which was to create a two-act musical based on a true story. And we wanted to dedicate these years of our lives to a story that we fell in love with completely.' Roberts, Hodgson and Cumming first connected when they were students at Warwick University and created and performed horror comedy shows, which they did throughout the United Kingdom, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Hagan and Hodgson met when they were in a band together. While searching for ideas, Hodgson's brother suggested that she listen to a Stuff You Should Know podcast about Operation Mincemeat. 'It was a crazy, true spy story that changed the course of World War II. My jaw was on the floor. I sent it [to the others] and we never looked back,' says Hodgson. 'There was never a question in our hearts or minds that we had to tell this story.' With just two songs and a scene, the group got the support of the 77-seat New Diorama Theatre which offered a five week run. In 2019, with a cast that included Hodgson, Roberts, Cumming the tiny-budgeted production was a big success. That production launched more theater transfers and a passionate and devoted fan base of 'Mincefluencers.' In 2023, Operation Mincemeat opened at Fortune Theatre on London's West End, where it has been extended fifteen times and won the Olivier Award for Best Musical. In addition to Hodgson, Roberts and Cumming, the cast also starred Claire-Marie Hall and Jak Malone, who has been with the show since the Diorama production and won an Olivier Award for his performance. (Malone is also nominated for a Tony this season.) 'Maybe in our secret hearts that we never spoke we might have hoped one day that the show might make it on the West End for one day,' said Cumming: 'We never thought it would get to the West End let alone pop across the pond to like the home of musical theater. It's beyond anything we ever imagined possible. This show was made by a very small team, with no money, doing it for free, just to try and get this story told.' Even when times were hard and their intrepid determination kept them unstoppable. 'What is great about theater—particularly fringe theater—is that at no point were there so many gatekeepers that stopped us from doing the first version of the show which was cheap as possible. We were in it, cast two [additional] people who are really talented and got a box of sweaty hats' says Hodgson. 'The great thing about theater is that you can put something on yourself. And we wanted to do this more than anything.' This past February Operation Mincemeat debuted on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre with the original five member West End cast playing around 86 people. In fact 300 Mincefluencers flew to New York just to be at the first performance. Directed by Robert Hastie, the musical is nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. In a fitting nod to its roots, the world tour will begin at the Lowry theater in Manchester, on February 16, 2026, where the musical was nurtured in its early development. (Tickets go on sale June 5.) In 2017, during the Lowery's Rewrites showcase for new musicals, SplitLip presented some early songs and one scene from the show, including 'God That's Brilliant,' which permanently remained in the production. 'The Lowry Theater in Manchester was the very first theater we ever performed in as a team and the first theater to ever give us money because they believed in our potential to make work that could really fly,' said Cummings. 'We have been desperate to pay them back ever since. So we are delighted to get to start our world tour where our careers all began. And also it means our mums can see it, which is pretty nice as well.' With all the accolades and world tours the actual dead man, whose real name was Glyndwr Michael, who made Operation Mincemeat a success is never find from their minds. They are particularly honored to take a kind of custodianship of his memory and hope that his legacy will be remembered throughout history. 'We we say his name during every performance in front of hundreds of people—both sides of the Atlantic now. And soon, internationally,' says Roberts. 'That in itself is a hugely powerful.' 2026 Audi Q3 Review: Expert Insights, Pricing, and Trims

The redesigned crossover features fresh styling, an updated engine, modernized tech including Audi's Digital Matrix style exterior lighting, and more space. What We Think Audi's entry-level SUV delivers on style and brand identity, but the previous Q3 generation fell short in areas that matter to discerning luxury buyers. Could the updated 2026 Q3 change that? The baby ute's sleek exterior and modern cabin—complete with sharp digital displays and surprising rear-seat space—give it a strong showroom appeal. However, the pre-2026 Q3's driving experience tells a different story. Top-Ranked Competitors: Performance The 2026 Audi Q3 may launch with two versions of an updated 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine. On the lower-trim models, output may come to 201 hp 236 lb-ft of torque, just like the A3 small sedan. Higher-trim 2026 Q3 S-Line models may be more powerful, at least matching the outgoing SUV's 228 hp and 251 lb-ft. Quattro AWD will be standard. We estimate sprints to 60 mph will take roughly 8 seconds with this setup. MPGs and Range Despite the increase in output, fuel economy is expected to improve on last year's 20–22/28–29 mpg city/highway through enhanced engine efficiency. Look for Q3 fuel economy to be on par with the 2025 XC40, which returns 23/30 mpg. Safety Features This year's Q3 will build on a set of driver assists that last year included: Adaptive cruise control Lane keeping Automatic emergency braking Blind-spot monitoring Automatic high beams How Big Is the 2026 Q3? Audi's smallest SUV continues to come with two rows and room for five passengers. Given the changes that came to the related Volkswagen Tiguan for 2025—namely a longer wheelbase and redesigned center console without a gear selector (it moves to the steering column)—space looks on track to improve. Technology Infotainment The lineup's standard 10.3-inch driver display should carry over, but Audi will be moving on from the last model's 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Look for a 12.9-inch replacement interface (like the Tiguan's). Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as several USB ports, will be standard. Available Upgrades The new Audi Q3 features advanced Digital Matrix style lighting—LED headlights and taillights that can change dynamically to avoid blinding oncoming traffic or project one of many available light signatures. Will some of this tech arrive on the U.S.-spec Q3? We'll see. Value The Q3 continues to be the most affordable Audi SUV, itself an enticement for brand intenders. A new model this year sweetens the deal, but refinement issues have held back past versions of the SUV from appealing to a wider audience. The 2026 Audi Q3 is the only SUV model from the brand with a starting price under $50,000 including destination.

2026 Bentley Bentayga Speed First Look: Fewer Cylinders, But WAY More Power(!)
The Bentley Bentayga Speed once reigned as the ultimate blend of performance and plushness in the SUV world, thanks to its mighty W-12 engine. With a thunderous 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, this luxurious beast launched from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, and blitzed through the quarter mile in 11.5 seconds at 120.7 mph in our testing. But with Crewe pulling the plug on the W-12, the mightiest Bentayga's heart lost four cylinders—and with them, a bit of the SUV's bite. 0:00 / 0:00 But the Speed name is back—and it's coming in hot. Enter the 2026 Bentley Bentayga Speed, now packing a revamped 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 that cranks out 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. That's a serious bump—99 more horses and 96 extra lb-ft over the V-8 S, and, you'll note, beyond the old W-12's output—making this the most powerful Bentayga ever to wear the winged badge. Power isn't the only thing getting a boost. Bentley gave the 2026 Bentayga Speed a round of upgrades, including fresh wheel designs and new interior touches. Drift Your Bentayga... ? With its return, the 2026 Bentayga Speed officially takes the crown as the flagship of the Bentayga lineup. Below it, the rest of the Bentayga range soldiers on with the 542-hp, 568-lb-ft twin-turbo V-8, or the 3.0-liter V-6 plug-in hybrid, which delivers a respectable 456 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Bentley claims the 2026 Bentayga Speed will hit 60 mph in 3.4 seconds—but we're calling that conservative. After all, they quoted 3.9 seconds for the old W-12, and we clocked it at 3.1 seconds. Based on the numbers, we expect the new Speed to rip from 0 to 60 in the 2.8 to 3.0-second range—a bonkers stat for a luxury SUV tipping the scales at over 5,000 pounds. To help rein in all that fury, the Speed can be equipped with massive carbon-ceramic brakes tucked behind newly designed—and a first for Bentley—23-inch wheels. The Bentayga Speed doesn't just move like a rocket—it sounds the part, too. A standard sport exhaust system gives the V-8 a richer, more aggressive growl, piped through a set of dual tailpipes flanking the rear diffuser. For those craving an even deeper, more visceral soundtrack, Bentley offers an optional titanium Akrapovic exhaust, complete with distinctive quad tailpipes. To make the most of that snarling exhaust, the new Sport mode cranks things up a notch—stiffening the suspension by 15 percent compared to Comfort and Bentley modes. Bentley says it also sharpens steering response and deepens the driver's connection, making the big SUV feel more dialed-in and dynamic than ever. Drifting probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a Bentayga—but the Speed might change that. According to Bentley, toggle the ESC to Dynamic and engage Sport mode, and the big brute will let loose with 'exhilarating drift angles' and power-on oversteer. Torque vectoring sharpens turn-in and puts down more grunt on corner exits, dialing up the agility. We'll have to see this in action—for science, of course—when we get behind the wheel soon. Rounding out the mechanical upgrades, the Bentayga Speed now features four-wheel steering—a welcome addition that tightens up low-speed maneuvering and shrinks the turning circle, making this big SUV feel far nimbler in tight spaces. Spot the Differences Cosmetically, the 2026 Bentayga Speed keeps things subtle but classy. Sharp-eyed fans will notice the dark tint inside the headlights and smoked gray taillights, while the Speed chrome badges along the sides proudly announce you're in the lineup's top dog. What stands out is the contrasting pinstripes wrapping the lower body, which can be matched to the color of the carbon-ceramic brakes for a touch of extra flair. Inside, the updates are subtle. Speed emblems grace the backrests, and you can customize the interior trim to match the exterior pinstripes for a splash of coordinated style. Quilted leather wraps the cabin in luxury, with generous coverage on the seats and door panels. We'll have a chance to test the new 2026 Bentley Bentayga soon. Stay tuned for our review.
