Ranking the four teams in the Athens Regional
1. Georgia Bulldogs
Record: 42-15, 18-12 in SEC
Home record: 29-4
RPI: No. 2
Georgia baseball has significant NCAA Tournament experience and leads the nation in home runs with 133. The Bulldogs will be tough to beat at home. Georgia has not lost a home series all season and played in the most difficult conference in the nation. The SEC had 13 teams make the NCAA Tournament.
Record: 37-19, 17-13 in ACC
Away record: 7-9 (1-1 neutral)
RPI: No. 31
Duke baseball has made the NCAA Tournament three straight seasons. The Blue Devils won the 2024 ACC Championship. Duke put together an impressive record in one of the country's toughest baseball conferences. Duke won a three-game regular season series at No. 11 national seed Clemson, which shows that they can beat anybody in the country.
Record: 28-23, 15-12 in Big 12
Away record: 5-12 (5-5 neutral)
RPI: No. 44
Oklahoma State was one of the better teams in the Big 12 this spring. The Cowboys won the Big 12 Tournament in 2024 and hosted a regional last year, so Oklahoma State has a lot of NCAA Tournament experience on its roster.
Oklahoma State left-handed pitcher Harrison Bodendorf was named first-team All-Big and was named as the conference's co-newcomer of the year.
4. Binghamton Bearcats
Record: 29-24, 13-11 in American East
Away record: 11-17 (5-1 neutral)
RPI: No. 163
Binghamton baseball won the American East over the Bryant Bulldogs in extra innings. Binghamton is 8-3 over their last 11 games and enters the Athens Regional with some serious momentum.
"All year long I wasn't sure how good this team was, but I knew we had tremendous spirit and fight," said Binghamton manager Tim Sinicki. "Yes we are talented, but we always found ways to win ball games and never gave up. I'm so proud of the kids. It's been a long week in beautiful Maine, but we're happy to be coming home with a championship."
Notably, Binghamton split (2-2) a series at Missouri earlier this year, so they do have experience against SEC foes. However, Missouri (16-39, 3-27 in SEC) had an awful season and was by far the worst team in the SEC. Georgia swept Missouri (3-0) in early May.

Georgia Newly Linked to Promising Quarterback in Latest College Football News
Georgia Newly Linked to Promising Quarterback in Latest College Football News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Georgia Bulldogs have questions behind center for the 2025 season. But they continue to impress at the position on the recruiting trail. Advertisement On3's Rusty Mansell reported Tuesday the Bulldogs hosted 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn at their summer camps this week. The signal-caller, who is already a Georgia target, looked impressive. "I'm told that 2028 quarterback Brady Quinn had a good showing," Mansell wrote. "The 2018 signal caller from South Florida is not the son of the former Notre Dame QB, before you ask. "He has early offers and was at Tennessee on Sunday and UGA on Monday." According to 247 Sports, Quinn has received offers from a dozen schools, including three SEC programs -- the Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels. Georgia Bulldogs football head coach Kirby Smart© Joshua L. Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images It's too early for recruiting websites to already have star rankings for 2028 prospects. Quinn only just finished his freshman year of high school. Advertisement But he's one of the early names to watch behind center for the Bulldogs in 2028. In the 2026 class, Georgia landed a verbal commitment from five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. The No. 1 overall signal-caller based on the 247 Sports composite rankings, Curtis committed to the Bulldogs, re-opened his recruitment and then verbally committed to Georgia again. For 2027, the Bulldogs are pushing for some of the class' top quarterbacks such as five-star prospect Elijah Haven and four-star Peter Bourque. This upcoming season, Georgia is expected to start Gunner Stockton behind center. Ryan Puglisi will also compete for playing time during the team's fall camp. Mets prospect Jett Williams leaves game after being hit in helmet by pitch
There was a scary moment involving Mets prospect Jett Williams in Friday night's game with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. In the first inning of the Binghamton-Somerset game, Patriots right-hander Carlos Lagrange threw a 1-2 fastball up and in to Williams. However, the pitch, which SNY prospects writer Joe DeMayo clocked at 98 mph, ran in and hit Williams near the ear flap of his batting helmet. Williams collapsed to the ground before he sat up as the trainer checked him out. After a minute or two, Williams got back up and walked off under his own power and was taken out of the game. Advertisement There was no immediate update on Williams' condition and his status moving forward is undetermined. Williams, DeMayo's No. 2 Mets prospect, was having a solid first full season in Double-A. In 47 games, Williams is slashing .277/.381/.446 with four home runs, 12 doubles, 17 stolen bases and an OPS of .827. Entering Friday's game, Williams had a two-game hitting streak going and reached base at least once in the last 10 games.
