Police probe missing Briton case in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: The disappearance of a British man last week in Malaysia's capital is being investigated from "all angles", police said Tuesday (Jun 3).
A missing person's report was filed, identifying the man as 25-year-old Jordan Johnson-Doyle, Kuala Lumpur police said.
Johnson-Doyle was last seen on May 27 in the bustling Bangsar district, known for its nightlife, trendy bars and cafes, according to local media reports.
"A detailed investigation, from all angles, is underway," Brickfields district police chief Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood told AFP.
"Those with any information are urged to contact their nearest police station," Ku Mashariman added in a statement.
Johnson-Doyle's mother, Leanne Burnett, 44, told the Free Malaysia Today news website that her husband had travelled to Kuala Lumpur, adding "we are distraught and pray that he's well somewhere".
She said his family was "seeking the help of anyone who saw him at his last-known location to come forward and inform the police".
Burnett said she was travelling to Malaysia with another son to help with the search.
Police have asked for the public "not to speculate" about Johnson-Doyle's disappearance.
The British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur confirmed Tuesday that it would assist Johnson-Doyle's family without naming them.
"We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Malaysia," it said in a statement.

SHAH ALAM: A three-year-old boy is among three fatalities after a boat capsized in the waters off Port Klang in Malaysia. The boy's parents remain missing following the incident at about 4.30pm on Friday (Jun 6) involving six locals aged between three and 50, with only one confirmed survivor so far. Selangor Maritime Director Abdul Muhaimin Muhammad Salleh was quoted as saying by local media that the boat is believed to have lost control before capsizing about 0.3 nautical miles west of Tanjung Harapan. Search and rescue operations were suspended at 8pm on Friday and resumed at 7am on Saturday with the involvement of various government agencies, including the Marine Police Force and the Fire and Rescue Department. "Investigations revealed that the child was found in the front section of the boat alongside an adult male, Cheu Son Hin, 50. SINGAPORE: An argument between a stepfather and his stepson escalated into a physical altercation at a rental flat in Yishun on Saturday morning, resulting in both men being arrested. The incident occurred around 10am at Block 510A Yishun Street 51. Eyewitnesses told Shin Min Daily News that police officers were seen arriving at the scene shortly after the commotion broke out. Residents familiar with the family said arguments were not uncommon in the unit, which is reportedly shared by a couple and a man in his 30s, believed to be the woman's son.
