Snoop Dogg unveils Swansea kit in playful dig at Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds

Swansea reacted to their Welsh rivals by turning to another famous face for their kit unveiling ahead of the 2025-26 season, posting on X: 'Dogg included @SnoopDogg.
'Nuthin' But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We're the Pride of Wales.'
In a video posted later, Snoop said: 'Hail to Wales and to Swansea City. It's your boy big Snoop Dogg.

West Coast rapper and record producer Snoop Dogg is a keen sports fan and worked as a correspondent for NBC at the Paris Olympics last year.
Snoop also carried the Olympic torch in the closing stages of the relay.
The 53-year-old has previously spoken of investing in Celtic – similar to the involvement of Reynolds and his fellow actor Rob McElhenney at Wrexham – and been pictured in the kits of various English clubs in recent years.
Swansea and Wrexham will be rivals in the Championship this season following the Red Dragons' three successive promotions under their Hollywood owners.

It is the first time Wrexham have been in the second tier of English football since 1982.
While Reynolds and McElhenney have entertained some of the biggest names in Hollywood at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground in recent years, Swansea have their own touch of glamour in South Wales.
Croatia midfielder Luka Modric, who has just left Real Madrid after 13 seasons with the Spanish giants, invested in Swansea three months ago to become a minority owner at the club.

Wrexham face Sydney FC in second friendly Down Under
Wrexham's first game in Australia ended in a 3-0 victory over Melbourne Victory on Friday with Tom O'Connor, Ryan Hardie and George Evans getting the goals at Marvel Stadium. Sydney, like New Zealand side Wellington Phoenix who the Reds face at Sky Stadium on Saturday in the final match of the trip, play in the A-League and Parkinson says his side are braced for another good work-out. He told the official club website: 'I think that all the teams are very athletic. We saw that on Friday night against Melbourne Victory. 'There are players who are making that transition into the European leagues and it's great that it's flourishing. 'I know that their season's quite a way off, but they've got the cup competition coming up and they've been back more or less the same time as us, having had a few weeks in pre-season. 'There's a lot of very technical players, but I think the good thing about the Australian teams, particularly is the athleticism of players. 'It was a standout for us against Melbourne Victory, as they have the pace and running power in the team. It was good for us to come up against that.' Parkinson, who named a different team for each half against Melbourne, has completed two new signings so far this summer with striker Hardie and goalkeeper Danny Ward both lining up in the second period. Hardie converted Ryan Barnett's low cross before being taken off as a precaution late in the game after taking a bang to the head while Ward had a relatively quiet evening, and the Reds boss says the duo have fitted in well since arriving at The Racecourse. "Ryan has trained really well since he has been here and settled in well," he added. "The goal is typical of goals he can score. "Movement in the opposition penalty box, timing of his run and like all good goalscorers, getting those tap-ins in and around the six-yard box. "Danny was cool and calm which you'd expect from a goalkeeper of his experience."

Evans happy to be up and running in Wrexham pre-season
The midfielder sustained ankle ligament damage on his first League One start of the season when Wrexham lost 1-0 at Stevenage on October 1 and required surgery. After a spell on the sidelines, Evans returned to the fold but only made two substitute appearances in the league after the turn of the year along with three starts in the EFL Trophy. With only one start and six run-outs off the bench all campaign in the third tier, Evans only played a bit-part as Wrexham finished runners-up behind Birmingham City to secure an historic third successive promotion. But Evans hopes to put that behind him and he scored the final goal as the Reds beat Melbourne Victory 3-0 at Marvel Stadium in the opening game of the pre-season tour Down Under on Friday. The 30-year-old, who was a regular in League Two in 2023-24 after joining from Millwall, told the club's YouTube channel: "Last year was obviously frustrating for me. "I picked the ankle injury up and (took a) a bit of time coming back into it. "But I have come back ready in pre-season and hopefully fighting for a chance, and getting a goal was a nice little bonus." Tom O'Connor gave Wrexham the lead at the break against Melbourne and after Parkinson named a difference side for the second half, summer signing Ryan Hardie and Evans scored to seal a comfortable win. "It was a really good work-out for us," said Evans. "They are the most successful team in Australia so we had tough opposition to go up to and we showed some good quality. "It was a really good run-out for us and obviously delighted to get the 3-0 win as well. "We showed things that got us promoted last year. "The work ethic and the togetherness, for the full 90 minutes we worked on getting the ball back as quickly as possible and I think we have shown a really good team performance." The second game of the tour takes place this morning with Wrexham staying in Australia to face Sydney FC - another A-League side - at The Allianz Stadium (10:30am kick-off). "We are excited to go," said Evans, who has also played in the Championship for Reading and Derby County as well as Millwall. "We had a great time in Melbourne and we are ready to kick-on in Sydney. "We have got another tough opposition there which will be a good work-out for us and I am really excited to get going." Wrexham head to New Zealand for the final friendly against Wellington Phoenix at Sky Stadium on Saturday morning and Evans is enjoying the trip. "It has been amazing," he said. "The place has been great and we have had some amazing experiences over here."

Flag football to make primetime Olympic debut at LA28
LOS ANGELES, July 14 (Reuters) - Flag football will take center stage during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, after organizers confirmed the sport's medal matches will be held in primetime slots in its first-ever Olympic appearance. The International Federation of American Football (IFAF), in partnership with the National Football League (NFL), announced on Monday that the men's and women's medal games are scheduled for Friday evening, July 21, and Saturday afternoon, July 22, at BMO Stadium near downtown Los Angeles. The announcement comes as senior IFAF and NFL delegations visit Los Angeles for the first official meetings with Games organizers, marking exactly three years to the day before the LA28 Opening Ceremony. "Flag football will definitely be a hot ticket at the Games," IFAF President Pierre Trochet told Reuters on Monday. "We're going to be at a great stadium right in the heart of the city and we're going to have fantastic players on the field with NFL players available." Flag football is a non-contact variation of American football in which players wear flags attached to their waists. Instead of tackling, defensive players must remove a flag from the ball carrier to end a play. The sport is played on a smaller field with fewer players per side. The inclusion of flag football in LA28 follows a vote by NFL owners allowing NFL players to participate in the Olympic competition. Trochet said the primetime scheduling was a clear statement of a shared ambition to ensure flag football contributes a "defining element" of LA28's success. Organizers hope to capture the excitement of "Friday Night Lights," a cherished American tradition, and generate iconic moments for the sport's Olympic launch. "We could not dream of a better setup to start our debut in the Olympic movement and Olympic journey," he said.
