'Country music has been an important part of AMA history. The very first year of this show, the award for favorite male country artist went to the great Charlie Pride,' Shaboozey read from the teleprompter first.
Moroney was up next, reading, 'That same year, favorite female artist went to Lynn Anderson, and this award [favorite country duo or group] went to the Carter family, who basically invented country music.'
It was that last line that seemingly caught the 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' singer by surprise, as he appeared to give her a side eye before pausing to process what she said and letting out a laugh before proceeding to present the nominees in the category.
The Carter Family, considered 'the first family of country music,' according to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, was an American folk music group that produced a number of hits throughout the 1920s, '30s and '40s. Some of the songs included 'Wildwood Flower,' 'Wabash Cannonball,' 'Keep on the Sunny Side' and 'Can the Circle Be Unbroken.'
The 2025 American Music Awards, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, were held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Monday night. Billie Eilish, SZA, Beyoncé, Eminem, Post Malone, Becky G and Gracie Abrams were among the night's big winners. Check out the red carpet arrivals and the full winners list.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Shaboozey's rep for comment.

‘Mayor of Kingstown' Season 4 Premiere Date and Plot Details Revealed
Mayor of Kingstown is coming back for Season 4 … and sooner than you might think! The drama, which is part of the Taylor Sheridan universe on Paramount+, recently shot on location in Canada, and details about what's ahead for the gritty crime series are starting to come to light. Here's a look at everything we know about Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 so far. When will Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 premiere? Paramount+ has revealed that the series will return for its fourth season on October 26. Who will star in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4? In addition to Jeremy Renner's Kyle McLusky, the main characters who survived the events of the Season 3 finale are: Ian (Hugh Dillon), Kyle (Taylor Handley), Bunny (Tobi Bamtefa), Robert (Hamish Allan-Headley), and Evelyn (Necar Zadegan). Per Deadline, Clayton Cardenas will join the show in Season 4 as Deputy Warden Torres, the 'right-hand man' of the incoming deputy who'll take over leadership at Anchor Bay after Kareem's death. Other additions for Season 4 include Edie Falco, Lennie James, and Laura Benanti. Falco plays Anchor Bay's new prison warden, Nina Hobbs. James plays gangster Frank Moses, who's respected not just in the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan, but also beyond. And Benanti is playing a new correctional officer, Cindy Stephens. What will happen in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4? Creator Hugh Dillon confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the events of the Season 3 finale do mean that the Russian mafia storyline is coming to an end for the series, teasing that their eradication from Kingstown 'leaves a vacuum [that] will be filled.' The logline for the new season tells us, 'Mike's control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians' wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.' How did Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 end? The Season 3 finale ended with a lot of major character losses. First, Kareem (Michael Beach) walked right into an ambush by the Aryans when trying to break up a scuffle in the yard with no backup — a fate he seemed to choose. Then, Evelyn told Mike that she is coming after Ian for using Charlie as a weapon against a whistleblower. She sees him as a sure means of getting to Robert, who she doesn't believe to be fit for the force (and she's right about that). Then, she decided to press charges against Kyle after he shot Robert to stop him from gunning down an innocent man who was hiding during the bridge melee. Despite how close Mike is to her, she doesn't buy into his brand of look-the-other-way-for-our-guys justice. Meanwhile, the bridge conflict saw the Crips ambush and eliminate the remaining Russians, with the help of the police department no less, so now Bunny will have rule of the roost as long as he sticks to Kingstown as his sole territory. But will he? Konstantin and Milo (Aidan Gillen) won't be a factor anymore. Milo forced Iris (Emma Laird) to shoot Konstantin if she wanted a new life, and Mike then took out Milo for his many transgressions, including taunting Mike about his mother's death. Sadly, Iris, too, is dead; although she made it onto the bus, she took too many pain pills and overdosed before arrival. How will so many calamities affect Mike's 'mayor'al status? After all, his brother's in jail for attempted murder, his best friend's under suspicion of murder, his romantic partner is the one prosecuting them both, his platonic girlfriend who he's fought so hard to protect is now dead, the warden is gone, the Aryans are still on a revenge tour, and Bunny's in charge of everything. Season 4 is going to be wild. Are there photos of Mayor Kingstown Season 4? Yes! A batch of 10 first-look photos were revealed in August, and you can check them all out right here. Next Movie in James Gunn's ‘Superman Saga' Gets Exciting Release Date Update
James Gunn recently spoke about the future of his 'Superman Saga' and hinted at progress on its next project. In a new interview at the Peacemaker Season 2 premiere, he teased work already underway. He also noted its connection to upcoming DCU plans. James Gunn's next Superman saga movie to begin filming soon In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, James Gunn confirmed that he has completed a 'very, very worked out treatment' for the next story. He referred to it as the 'Superman Saga.' He stated, 'I'm working on that and hopefully going into production on that not too far away from today.' The filmmaker, who wrote and directed Superman, withheld the project's title and plot details. Gunn said Superman 'leads directly into Peacemaker' and added, 'It should be noted that this is for adults, not for children, but Superman leads into this show, and then we have the setting up of all of the rest of the DCU in this season of Peacemaker; it's incredibly important.' He also noted, 'Lots of guest stars coming up, lots of characters that are going to show up that we've already met in Superman.' Gunn is said to be developing a Superman sequel, which was reportedly described as part of the 'Superman Family.' While unconfirmed, speculation suggests the story may involve David Corenswet's Superman teaming up with Milly Alcock's Supergirl and Krypto. They could face Brainiac and/or The Authority. The next chapter may be a Superman and Supergirl sequel, possibly teaming them up. If production begins soon, it could be released in June–July 2027. Meanwhile, Peacemaker Season 2, starring John Cena and others, premieres August 21 on HBO Max. Cena said, 'Instead of standalone properties, all of the DCU is now connected, as you saw Peacemaker show up in Superman… it also has a lot to do with the DCU going forward.' Angelina Jolie preparing to put luxe Hollywood estate on the market as upcoming milestone frees her from LA
Actress Angelina Jolie is said to be getting ready to part ways with the historic Los Angeles estate that she has called home for the last eight years, as she prepares for a move away from the U.S. According to multiple reports, the Oscar-winning starlet is planning to 'put the house up for sale' in the coming months with a view to relocating abroad when her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July next year. Jolie, 50, has previously revealed her desire to live outside of the U.S., telling The Hollywood Reporter that she was only residing in California because it was one of the conditions of her divorce settlement from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. Speaking to the outlet about the terms of the agreement with Pitt, 61, in the 2024 interview, Jolie revealed that she was bound to remain in L.A. until all of their children reach the age of 18, admitting at the time that she hoped to spend 'a lot of time in Cambodia' when she leaves. Now, as that date approaches, sources claim that Jolie is beginning to make preparations for her exit from U.S. soil, with an insider telling People: '[Angelina] plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She's eyeing several locations abroad. She'll be very happy when she's able to leave Los Angeles.' '[She] never wanted to live in L.A. full time. She didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad.' 5 Actress Angelina Jolie is said to be getting ready to part ways with the historic LA estate that she has called home for the last eight years. Anadolu via Getty Images Part of those preparations, the insider said, will be making some minor improvements to her historic home, which is known as the Cecil B. DeMille estate in honor of the famed director, who lived there for 40 years until his death in 1959. Jolie took on that slice of Hollywood history in 2017, when she purchased the property for $24.5 million—later explaining that she had chosen the home because of its proximity to her former spouse, from whom she split in 2016. 'I wanted it to be close to their dad, who is only five minutes away,' she told British Vogue in 2021. After her separation from Pitt, with whom she shares six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, Knox, and Vivienne, the pair became embroiled in a bitter divorce battle that saw them sparring over custody arrangements, shared properties, and even involved allegations of abuse. 5 According to multiple reports, Jolie is planning to 'put the house up for sale' in the coming months. nobyline@backgrid / BACKGRID That legal battle raged on for eight years before finally being settled in December 2024. And while both parties have only shared a few scant details about their split, Jolie did hint at some of the legal details agreed upon by herself and Pitt when she spoke out about the nature of their custody agreement and the restraints that it has put on her life. I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they're 18, I'll be able to leave,' she told The Hollywood Reporter about her reasons for remaining in Los Angeles. 'When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here. [After Los Angeles,] I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I'll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.' 5 The property features six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and an array of amenities. nobyline@backgrid / BACKGRID For much of the time since her split from Pitt, Jolie has resided primarily in the historic 11,000-square-foot abode in Los Feliz, which was built back in 1913, and boasts six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. In addition to its many bedrooms and bathrooms, the Beaux Arts-style mansion, which was built in 1913, also offers an array of living spaces, including a 'beautiful pool house' and a 'studio house' that has its own entrance. And while the home maintains its historic appearance, it underwent an extensive six-year renovation before Jolie purchased it—with the picture-perfect grounds and the swimming pool also given a meticulous overhaul. 5 Jolie, 50, has previously revealed her desire to live outside of the U.S. WireImage 'A newer classic old Hollywood style pool with arched fountains, surrounded by rolling lawns, specimen trees, rose gardens, and dramatic views from the Observatory to Ocean sunsets,' the original listing description said. Should Jolie follow through with her plans to move abroad, she will join a long line of celebrities who have quit the U.S. in recent months—with many pointing to President Donald Trump's reelection as the reason for their relocation. Among those who have fled further afield are actress Rosie O'Donnell, who revealed in January that she had moved to Ireland along with her youngest child, Dakota 'Clay' O'Donnell, 12, who is nonbinary. 5 Jolie revealed that she was bound to remain in L.A. until all of their children reach the age of 18. AFP via Getty Images At the time, O'Donnell said that she no longer felt 'safe' living in the U.S. under Trump's presidency—a declaration that saw him threatening to revoke her citizenship for good. Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres recently confirmed for the first time that her decision to move to the U.K. with her wife, Portia de Rossi, was prompted by Trump's victory in the 2024 election, telling British broadcaster Richard Bacon that they had originally only intended to reside in the country for a few months out of the year. 'We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in,'' she explained during a July 20 appearance at the Everyman theater in Cheltenham, England. 'And we're like, 'We're staying here.''
