pension schemes
run by the directorate of ESOMSA. Providing
social security pensions
to the needy was one of the top priorities of the state govt, said Sukhu.
The CM highlighted that eight pension schemes were currently operational in the state to benefit the vulnerable sections of society.
He said Rs 1,410 crore was spent on these schemes during the last financial year, benefiting over 8.24 lakh individuals.
Sukhu further said an additional 37,000 beneficiaries would be included under the social security pension schemes during the current financial year, on which an additional expenditure of Rs 67 crore would be incurred.
The e-Kalyan portal is integrated with databases such as Him Bhoomi, Him Parivar, Aadhaar, and PDS ration card.
Applicants can apply directly or through Lokmitra Kendras by visiting https://himparivar.hp.gov.in/ekalyan.
The initiative will discourage applicants from visiting govt offices for certification or submission of applications. Updates regarding application errors, verification, and approvals will be sent digitally, allowing applicants to track their applications from home, said the CM.

Tamil Nadu Governor Doing "Cheap Politics" Than Opposition, Says MK Stalin

Dharmapuri: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday mounted a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, accusing him of doing "cheap politics" than the opposition and charged him with spreading canards against the ruling DMK and the party-led government. Listing out the various pro-people welfare initiatives of his government, he said Tamil Nadu has become a pioneer for the country in such schemes. The Dravidian model government is the one which shows direction to the country. "Some mischief mongers are unable to stand this and are making baseless allegations," he said. In his address at a government event here to mark the launch of social welfare initiatives, the CM said he was not concerned about what the opposition parties say, since "that is their politics." "There is someone doing cheaper politics than them, you know who it is. It is Governor R N Ravi, appointed by the Union BJP government. You know what he does from the Raj Bhavan--spread canards against the DMK government, against DMK. He will insult Dravidam, won't approve legislations (bills), will disrespect Tamil Thaai Vazhthu (Tamil anthem) and maligns TN students," the CM said. He charged Ravi with making unfounded allegations about TN education, law and order and women's safety, and "creating panic". "Tamil Nadu is the top Indian state. We are not saying this, Union BJP government's statistics stand as testament to this. Tamil Nadu is ahead of BJP-ruled states (in social indices). Unable to stand this, he (Ravi) is venting out his frustration in public fora," Stalin charged. The CM's sharp retort comes days after Ravi expressed concern over women's safety, drug abuse among youth in the state, among other issues, in his Independence Day address. Stalin claimed Tamil Nadu stood second in school education. Also, it was because law and order was maintained well in the state that it has attracted Rs 10 lakh crore worth investments in the last four years, he said. As regards women's safety, citing National Crime Records Bureau statistics of 2022, he claimed BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh tops in crimes against women. Therefore, the governor should target BJP-ruled states, Stalin said. "The Union BJP government is carrying out its cheap politics through the Governor who is constantly functioning against Tamil, Tamil Nadu, its people and feelings," he charged. Stalin said Ravi should continue in Tamil Nadu "as it is good for us". "He is effectively ensuring that our fire for the language, race and ideology burns bright. Let him talk, I am not bothered." "I am only bothered about you, want to be truthful to you who have voted for us," he said. Pointing out the recently rolled out public outreach initiatives--"Ungaludan Stalin, Nalan Kakkum Stalin, Thayumanavar Scheme," he said there was no need for him to monitor these "since you, the beneficiaries, have become its ambassadors." Earlier, the CM inaugurated Rs 367.77 crore worth completed projects in the district, and laid the foundation stone for others to be taken up at an estimated Rs 512 crore. Outlining his party's commitment for the development of the district, he recalled the various initiatives launched by the DMK-led government in the past that includes the Hogenakkal integrated drinking water scheme that also benefits the neighbouring Krishnagiri. The SIPCOT Industrial Park was also inaugurated today and land allocation has been done to seven firms, Stalin said. Referring to his government's free bus travel scheme for women-- 'Vidiyal Payanam', he said the expenditure involved in it was being viewed as savings by women over the four years. Seeing its success, the initiative has been implemented in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh by the respective governments, Stalin said. Meanwhile, the CM launched a Cooperative department initiative to provide interest-free crop loans to farmers applying online. An official release said the government had earlier announced that the pilot scheme will be launched in Dharmapuri before expanding it across the state. The effort involves disbursing the loan the same day it is applied online.

Dwarka Expressway, UER-II: Delhi's 2 Access-Controlled Roads Drive India's Eway Strength To 2,712 Km

Last Updated: With these new stretches, the country's operational expressway network has grown from 2,636 km in July to 2,712 km in August Delhi inaugurated two major access-controlled roads on Sunday — the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) — adding 76 km to the national highway network and bringing India's total operational expressway length to 2,712 km. These two additions are part of a broader push across India to expand access-controlled expressways. With these new stretches, the country's operational expressway network has grown from 2,636 km in July to 2,712 km in August, bringing Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan together to nearly 60% of the total operational length. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved 5,110 km of access controlled national high-speed corridors and expressways across India. With the two new stretches, the operationalised length has risen from 2,636 km in July to 2,712 km in August. Across India, Rajasthan leads with 964 km (35.6%), followed by Haryana with 604 km (22.3%) and Gujarat with 310 km (11.4%). Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh contribute 232 km and 224 km, respectively—about eight per cent each—while Telangana (153 km) and Karnataka (151 km) make up around six percent each. Delhi, with the addition of the new roads, now has 65 km (2.4%) of expressways. Jammu and Kashmir contributes seven km (0.3%), and Uttarakhand has the smallest share with 3 km (0.1%). Dwarka Expressway, UER-II Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the two expressways saying that connectivity across NCR will take a big leap forward with the inauguration of the Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway and UER-II. They cover 76.15 km and were built at a total cost of ₹10,946.55 crore. Now, all four packages of the Dwarka Expressway, with a collective length of 29 km, are operational. About 19 km length falls in Haryana and remaining 10 km in Delhi with a total project cost of Rs 8,611 crore. The Dwarka Expressway offered an alternate route for NH 48 traffic from Delhi towards Haryana and other states apart from offering a direct access to Yashobhumi in Sector 25 of Dwarka. It also provides alternate connectivity to Delhi International Airport through a dedicated four lane airport tunnel. The Dwarka Expressway connects the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, UER-II, DMRC Blue line and Orange line and Dwarka cluster Bus depot. In future, it will connect to the upcoming tunnel to Vasant Kunj on the Nelson Mandela Marg. — CMO Delhi (@CMODelhi) August 17, 2025 While the Dwarka Expressway strengthens Delhi's western corridor, the UER-II, often called the Western Ring Road, complements it by linking northern and northwestern sectors and providing seamless connectivity across multiple highways and urban nodes. The UER-II is developed in five packages with a total length 75.71 km and capital cost of Rs 6,445 crore. Around 54.21 km of UER-II falls in Delhi and 21.50 km in Haryana. About 40 km of this road is the main alignment between Alipur and Dwarka, including the already operational Nangloi-Dwarka link. The UER-II connects three major National Highways touching Delhi – NH-44 (Delhi – Panipat), NH-09 (Delhi – Rohtak) & Dwarka Expressway. The spur to Sonipat Bypass will decongest the existing NH-44 and provide connectivity from Delhi to KMPE and Delhi-Katra Expressway. Apart from completing Dwarka Expressway and UER-II, two spur roads were also opened on Sunday. The spur to Bahadurgarh bypass will decongest the existing NH-09 in Delhi and provide connectivity to Eastern Haryana – Rohtak, and Bahadurgarh – with southwest Delhi. This road link will also bring closer the connectivity of Delhi with KMP Expressway. PM inaugurates Rs 11,000cr road projects linking Delhi and Haryana

1 2 Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated enhanced and faster road connectivity between Haryana and New Delhi, while criticising the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi for indulging in negative politics "aimed at creating divisions between the two neighbouring states". Modi addressed a gathering to dedicate the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) National Highway projects, aimed at enhancing road connectivity between Delhi and Haryana. The projects, worth approximately Rs 11,000 crore, were inaugurated in the presence of Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari, and other senior officials. While praising successive BJP chief ministers and current Haryana CM Saini, Modi took a veiled dig at the previous AAP govt in Delhi and former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. Without naming them directly, he referred to the state of affairs during their tenure, saying, "A few months ago, there was a conspiracy to pit the people of Haryana and Delhi against each other. The opposition accused the people of Haryana of poisoning Delhi's water. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Modi also commended CM Saini's leadership, highlighting improvements in governance under the BJP-led govt in Haryana. "In previous govts in Haryana, getting a job without connections or expenses was impossible. But now, under chief minister Nayab Singh Saini's leadership, jobs are being given to the youth without connections or expenses," he said. Modi added that Saini is carrying forward this tradition with commitment, and that the government's constant endeavour to simplify people's lives is clearly reflected in its policies and decisions. CM Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing the gathering, expressed gratitude to the Centre and PM Modi for the development projects in the state. He noted that the Prime Minister's support has brought six road projects worth Rs 11,000 crore to benefit both Haryana and Delhi. Saini also praised Modi's efforts in driving the overall development of the country. "Under the Urban Extension Road-2 project, two new four-lane connecting roads from Sonipat to Bahadurgarh are included. It is not just Haryana, but infrastructure work is progressing strongly across every part of the country," said Saini. He added that Prime Minister Modi's efforts will prove to be a milestone in building a developed India and a developed Haryana. He also mentioned that a major facility like AIIMS is being provided in Haryana's Rewari, thanks to the Prime Minister's special affection towards the state. Of the total Rs 11,000 crore worth of projects, two major ones will directly benefit Haryana —namely, the construction of two new four-lane connectivity roads to Sonipat and Bahadurgarh under the UER-2 project. Saini emphasised that Haryana, being the industrial and agricultural hub of North India, stands to gain the most from these projects. He said the key infrastructure developments will not only boost exports, imports, and investments by ensuring direct connectivity from Kundli, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, and Manesar to Delhi Airport, but will also provide long-awaited relief from traffic congestion in the region.
