Chiefs news: New midfielder confirmed, left-back decision pending
The latter released the 26-year-old after securing League Two promotion, allowing AmaKhosi to sign the dynamic midfielder on a 2-year deal for free.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs are clinging on to the hope that they will secure the services of 19-year-old Neo Rapoo. The highly-rated SuperSport United defender also has Orlando Pirates knocking at the door.
Rapoo is expected to decide in the coming weeks.
'Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are both keen to sign SuperSport United left-back Neo Rapoo ahead of the new season,' an inside source revealed.
'His performances as he led South Africa U20 to the Africa Cup of Nations title earned him interest in Scandinavia and the Gulf but sources as Matsatsansa have confirmed Chiefs and Pirates are both seriously after the player who is seen as future senior national team left-back.'
'With Orlando Pirates having released Paseka Mako and the retirement of Innocent Maela, their interest on the promising full-back comes as no surprise, while Kaizer Chiefs are looking to remedy a position that has plagued them in the last couple of seasons.'

What Kaizer Chiefs want to win this season
Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has opened up about the club's goals for the 2025/26 season, making it clear that Amakhosi are not settling for anything less than silverware. The Glamour Boys have had a perfect start to the Betway Premiership, winning three of the opening matches: 2-0 at Stellenbosch FC, 1-0 against Polokwane City FC and 1-0 over Richards Bay. With nine points on the board, Kaizer Chiefs are sitting first on the league table and eager to improve on last season's ninth-place finish. Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Three signings Ben Youssef, who has been leading the team alongside second assistant Cedric Kaze while head coach Nasreddine Nabi is away on family leave, emphasised that Kaizer Chiefs are focused on competing for every trophy. 'To be honest with you, we don't have any pressure; we take it game by game, but we are a big team, and every competition we play in, we must win that competition,' Ben Youssef said. Our targets are clear, we are Kaizer Chiefs, we are not here to be in the middle of the table or just to enjoy. 'So we are here to win all the titles, but we as a club don't want to be under pressure. We won our first two games, and there are still 28 games left, and we must win every competition we play in,' the Tunisian mentor concluded. Sirino's strike gives Chiefs third win on the trot ahead of showdown against Sundowns
Gaston Sirino's goal gave Kaizer Chiefs third Betway Premiership victory in a row as they beat Richards Bay 1-0 at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday. This is the first time since 2010 that Chiefs have achieved this feat. When they did the same in 2014-2015 season, Chiefs went all the way to win the title, which is the last time they did so. With this win, Chiefs remain on top of the Premiership standings and joint on nine points with Sekhukhune United who won 3-0 against Orbit College on Tuesday. Chiefs win boast their hopes of doing well this season, but more importantly it comes ahead of their blockbuster fixture against champions Mamelodi Sundowns here next Wednesday. Though Chiefs dominated the ball with close to 70% of possession they wasted a lot of chances to score more goals. The only time Chiefs scored more than one goal this season was in their first match when they beat Stellenbosch FC 2-0 in Cape Town. For Bay, this defeat extends their terrible start to the season as the KwaZulu-Natal outfit have now lost all their first three matches ahead of welcoming Chippa United on Tuesday.
