Midge Ure cancels tour dates due to urgent health battle as he aplogises to fans
Midge Ure has cancelled a string of shows as he reveals he has been battling a health issue. The Scots musician released a statement as he announced the gigs will be rescheduled to a later date and said the move came with 'great sadness and difficulty'.
The Ultravox icon, 71, said he 'requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery".
The rescheduled performances include dates in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Europe.
The star, real name James, said: 'It is with great sadness and difficulty that I have to reschedule all shows planned from September onwards. During a recent routine check-up, doctors discovered a health issue that requires urgent treatment and a period of recovery.
'I know many of you travel great distances, often across borders to attend the shows, and I never take that support for granted. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes to your plans.
'I remain fully committed to performing all shows currently scheduled for this month and I'm looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I'm able.'
He added that his recently announced 2026 tour - A Man of Two Worlds - will still go ahead in May and June. He added: 'I'm aiming to be back on the road again as soon as possible and looking forward to getting back out there and sharing this music with you all.
'My team and I are working closely with promoters to reschedule the affected dates, and we'll share updates on my Facebook page as soon as we have them. I kindly ask that you respect the privacy of myself and my family during this difficult time.
'Thank you, as always, for your understanding, patience, and unwavering support. It truly means a great deal. With thanks and love, Midge.'

House of The Vivienne launches in Colwyn Bay in memory of star
House of The Vivienne, described as a 'safe, inclusive space' offering free, confidential advice, guidance, and compassion, launched at Ty Enfys (Rainbow House) on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay on Tuesday, August 12. The group is led by Chanel Williams, sister of the late James Lee Williams - better known to millions as The Vivienne - and her family. The group is led by Chanel Williams, sister of the late James Lee Williams - better known to as The Vivienne (Image: Submitted) The space has been created to honour James's life and their courage in speaking about their own struggles, and their unwavering belief in helping others. The first-ever winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, James died in January this year at the age of 32, following a cardiac arrest caused by the effects of taking ketamine. It was a devastating loss for family, friends, and the LGBTQ+ community, and one that Chanel is determined will help spark awareness and change. The Vivienne and Chanel (Image: Submitted) 'Ketamine is an extremely dangerous drug that is becoming more and more prevalent in the UK,' said Chanel. 'There's still a stigma around ketamine use, and that's costing lives. We want to break that stigma and create a place where people feel safe to say: I need help.' Chanel and her family, working in partnership with The Sanctuary Trust, Adferiad, and local substance abuse charities, are beginning this campaign in their hometown of Colwyn Bay, with plans to expand nationwide. James and Chanel (Image: Submitted) The Vivienne, who grew up in the seaside resort and attended Rydal Penrhos before moving to Liverpool, became a household name after winning the first series of Drag Race UK in 2019. They later made history as the only UK queen to compete on Drag Race All Stars in the US. Throughout their career, James never shied away from discussing their past ketamine addiction, using their platform to highlight its dangers and the hope of recovery. 'James brought sparkle and joy wherever they went,' said Chanel. Ty Enfys (Image: Submitted) 'But they also knew the darkness of addiction. That's why House of The Vivienne isn't just about telling people to stop - it's about meeting them where they are, without judgement, and showing them there's a way forward. 'Whether you're using, in recovery, or worried about someone you love, you are welcome here.' Ketamine, a powerful anaesthetic with legitimate medical uses, has increasingly been misused as a recreational drug, particularly among younger people. Its dangers are often underestimated, but long-term use can lead to severe bladder damage, memory problems, and in some cases, death. House of The Vivienne offers a warm, understanding space for anyone affected by addiction - whether to ketamine, alcohol, or other substances. The doors to the safe space will open every Tuesday and a listening and understanding ear will be provided. Sessions will run from 5pm–7pm. 'This is for anyone who feels alone,' Chanel added. 'James would want you to know you matter, your life matters, and there is help. "There is always hope.' For more information, email hello@ or follow the campaign on Instagram.

Camrose Vintage Working Day promises something for everyone
Running from 10am to 6pm the show will be set across three fields and the committee is promising a packed programme aimed at all the family. Chairman Andrew James said the Gentle Giants and Friends Horses would be demonstrating and giving rides at the show for the first time. And Towy Valley Axe Racing Team would also be demonstrating how to carve wood with axes. Other attractions include a falconry display, steam engines and tractor and trailer rides. There will be vintage vehicles on show, sheep shearing demonstrations and a farrier will be showing how to change shoes on horses. The show will also host a novelty dog show. Mr James said: "There really is something for everyone, of all ages – we'll have the bespoke tent 'Educating Pembrokeshire children' (food story) to learn where their food comes from, where parents can sit with their children in a safe zone. There will also be a bouncy castle for children, too. "Across the field, there will be lots of interesting and different stalls, as well as a bespoke craft tent. "Throughout the day, the main show ring will have lots of activities – including the popular vintage parade of all the vehicles and the parade of the winners of the dog show. "This year we plan to have two children's tug-o-war contests – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. This is always a focal part of the day watching the fun that children have pulling against either a steam engine or an old tractor." If that wasn't enough there will be silage/grass demonstrations, an auto-jumble stalls, ploughing, land dressing preparations and seeding demonstrations predominantly using vintage tractors and machinery but there will also be Shire Horses to do some ploughing too. Mr James said: "It's incredible to think this show was started by a small group of people wanting to raise money for charities and, at the same time, wanting to demonstrate how the farming community had to make crops for the winter months to feed all the animals. "All of the money, made on the day, gets shared out to local charities and, to date, the committee has raised and donated more than £265,000." This year the main show sponsored is Prichard Holdings Ltd.
