Taiz (Saba) – Today, the local authority in Taiz Governorate and the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit launched the distribution of 155 heads of cows and concentrated feed to beneficiaries from productive families in the first phase of the project in Maqbanah District, at a cost of 80 million riyals.
The distribution was part of the Economic Empowerment of Cows Project through White Loans, in cooperation with the Bunyan Development Foundation, the governorate's agriculture sector, the local authority in the district, and the Agricultural Cooperative Union.

Workshop on Agricultural Expansion Program in Marib

Marib - Saba: A workshop on the Agricultural Expansion Program was held in Marib province, organized on Thursday by the agriculture sector in the province. The workshop aimed to provide agricultural sector officials in the directorates, members of the Executive Unit for Financing Agricultural Projects , Initiatives, and supporters of the program in the province with skills and expertise to implement the project to expand the cultivation of staple crops. Mohammed Thiab, Director of the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit in the province, pointed out the need to benefit from the outcomes of the workshop and apply them on the ground to achieve the desired goals. The workshop witnessed interaction from the participants, and included technical explanations by the Ministry's agricultural expansion project engineer, Engineer Mohammed Fatih, about the mechanisms for entering data through the electronic application and building a comprehensive database for the province in the agricultural field. Workshops to develop contract farming implementation mechanism in number of provinces

Provinces - Saba : The Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ministry and the Agricultural Cooperative Union launched four workshops to develop the mechanism of implementing contract farming for the agricultural season 1446 AH, for 30 agricultural cooperative societies in Hajjah, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Hodeida and Raymah provinces. The workshops, implemented by specialists from the Agricultural Cooperative Union cadres, aimed to provide 160 trainees from the administrative bodies of the associations with the knowledge and basics of contract farming to develop and improve them so that cooperative associations are equipped to implement this type of farming, in addition to providing members of cooperative associations, agricultural authorities and local authorities in the districts with a guide to contract farming. The importance of the contract farming workshops lies in enhancing efforts to activate the role of cooperative societies in marketing products and overcoming the challenges faced by the societies in this aspect, with the aim of reducing the import bill and achieving sustainable development. The agricultural crops that will be covered by the contract farming program are "sesame, maize, dates, tomatoes, peas, legumes of all kinds, lentils, fenugreek, peanuts, black beans, ginger, turmeric, coriander, cumin, and lemon." The importance of the workshops related to contract farming lies in enhancing the efforts to activate the role of cooperative societies in marketing products and overcoming the challenges of the associations in this aspect in order to reduce the import bill and achieve sustainable development.
