A Promising Update On ‘Mindhunter' Season 3 On Netflix, Of All Things
Mindhunter
Six years on, I did not imagine I would be talking about the potential return of Mindhunter on Netflix, an idea that fans have long given up hope on. But here we are, and Mindhunter star Holt McCallany just gave an interview where he talks about how the show might return and the status of director David Fincher's involvement.
The interview is with CBR promoting McCallany's other new show, The Waterfront, and he addressed the season 3 issue:
"So look, you know, I had a meeting with David Fincher in his office a few months ago, and he said to me that there is a chance that it may come back as three two-hour movies, but I think it's just a chance. I know there are writers that are working, but you know, David has to be happy with scripts."
"And I felt very fortunate and privileged to have gotten to do that show at all. I would love it if it were to return. I think, like I said, you know, he gave me a little bit of hope when I had that meeting with him, but the sun, the moon, and the stars would all have to align. The good news is that we're at Netflix with The Waterfront, and those movies would also be for Netflix. So I think that in terms of dates and logistics, it could all be worked out, but it has to do, you know, with David really having the time and the inclination and being happy, you know, with the material. And, you know, that's a big question mark."
Mindhunter
It has been beyond frustrating that Mindhunter, arguably one of the best shows Netflix has ever made, disappeared after its second season, which in no way needed to be its end. There have been many glimpses as to what happened over the years, combining reports that Fincher wasn't interested with reports he would have done it, but Netflix said it cost too much. Given that the streamer now spends billions on content a year, that no longer seems like a valid excuse.
The idea that this would be three, two-hour movies instead of a show is well, I mean, that's pretty much a TV show now, just six hour-long episodes paired together. Yes, back when Mindhunter aired in 2019, it was 10 and 9 episodes, respectively, but that's not the norm for crime series these days, and I think fans would be willing to make the compromise so long as the show came back in some capacity.
The main key here is Fincher (co-star Jonathan Groff is busy, but it could be possible to wrangle him). Fincher has been busy non-stop since Mindhunter six years ago, and has worked on other projects for Netflix like his movies Mank and The Killer. Now, he's doing an extremely high-profile Once Upon a Time in America sequel, taking over for director Quentin Tarantino.
This still seems like something of a moonshot, but it's more information than we've had previously. Hopefully, we learn more soon.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Planning to Watch This Classic Rom-Com Together Soon
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have kept their extremely high-profile relationship more quiet as of late—which means they could be taking part in more movie nights than normal. One movie atop the couple's to-watch list? The classic romantic comedy Pretty Woman, released in 1990 and starring Julia Roberts (as if we had to tell you). Kelce mentioned that was on their watch list in the June 18 episode of his podcast, 'New Heights,' which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce head out for dinner for date nights—and sometimes they stay in and watch movies. Interestingly, thanks to Kelce and his 'New Heights' podcast, we now know exactly what film the couple of two years will likely be watching on their next night in. Speaking with his brother Jason Kelce on the June 18 episode of the show, Kelce said that, when it comes to their next movie night together, 'We mentioned Pretty Woman,' referencing the iconic 1990 Julia Roberts film. 'That's been on me and Tay's movie list for a while,' he added. 'I'd be down to watch that.' One of the most high-profile couples in the world has been pretty low-key for most of 2025, following Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl loss in February. Save for a few dinner dates here and there—and a recent outing to watch home hockey on June 12—Swift and Kelce have mostly been laying low and out of the public eye, the perfect time for the aforementioned movie night. As Kelce gears up for the upcoming Chiefs season by training in Boca Raton, Florida, he will no doubt have Swift's support for what might end up being Kelce's last season in the National Football League. 'Having that confidence and comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium—that's the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft,' Kelce said on a January 15 appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show. 'Focus on being the best version of you.' In 2023, Swift told TIME of her relationship that 'When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don't care. The opposite of that is that you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone. And we're just proud of each other.' While Swift and Kelce haven't been as front-facing as they have been in past, well, eras (sorry—had to), that doesn't mean anything is amiss, a source told Us Weekly. 'They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention,' the insider said. 'There isn't trouble in paradise.' As for movie nights, the couple might also add the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 to the list—Kelce has a cameo in the sequel to Adam Sandler's original 1996 Happy Gilmore, which is out on Netflix on July 25. That's a full month away—plenty of time to watch Pretty Woman before that. Read the original article on InStyle
