Tastefully Yours – K-drama Episode 10 Recap, Review & Ending Explained
Episode 10 of Tastefully Yours begins with a broadcast introducing the Hansang cook-off between Jungjae and Motto. The judges are announced to be Chairman Han and Mathieu, the editor in chief at Diamant and also the French man who visited Jungjae earlier.
When the theme of the competition is announced to be chicken, Team Jungjae decides to make coq au vin with a Korean spin. However, they don't find the chicken they want in the nearby stores and markets. Beom-woo suspects foul play.
They head out once again, this time agreeing to get frozen chicken if they need to. Yeon-joo is hiding around the corner and sees them rush off.
Elsewhere, Sun-woo hears from his colleague that his mother has restricted chicken distribution around Jungjae. He's in the town himself. When he sees Yeon-joo walking on the road, he approaches her but we don't hear what they talk about.
We then skip to the next morning. Motto opens for business and Young-hye serves her own recipe this time. Jungjae opens as well. Several food influencers arrive at both restaurants. At Jungjae, Chun-seung's father arrives too and approves of his makgeolli.
Young-hye's dish is presented to the judges and Mathieu enjoys it. While the judges and Producer Kim travel to Jungjae, Chairman Han tells Kim that she is expanding her business. She doesn't care about who wins the cook off, she just wants publicity for her new brand. Back at Motto, Young-hye tells Yu-jin she enjoyed cooking her own food and is quitting her job at Motto.
A flashback then shows us the conversation between Yeon-joo and Sun-woo. Sun-woo tells Yeon-joo that Chairman Han always valued her restaurants and business more than her sons.
Another flashback shows Chairman Han ignoring Beom-woo as a child. Instead, his grandmother is the one who feeds the kids.
At present, Yeon-joo goes to Motto and meets Yu-jin, who gives her more insight into Beom-woo's past. He also tells her that Beom-woo changed after working at Jungjae.
The judges arrive at Jungjae and are served the coq au vin. As he did at Motto, Matthieu asks them if they did anything different to the dish.
The results are out. Chairman Han gets a piece of paper that clearly says Jungjae won more votes. Matthieu hears this as well, which is why he's surprised when Chairman Han announces that it was a tie. Matthieu is incensed and walks out.
Chairman Han suggests a rematch between the two restaurants. Beom-woo is furiously arguing against her when Yeon-joo enters the restaurant and boldly accepts the challenge. She tells Chairman Han to forget the other restaurant and just taste her food. If she doesn't like it, Yeon-joo tells her she can wipe out the restaurant. Yeon-joo tells her to come for breakfast the next morning.
Beom-woo then tries to apologise to Yeon-joo but she tells him to wait till all of this is over. He then gets a text from Sun-woo, who calls him out for a drink. Sun-woo asks him why he's going so far to protect a tiny restaurant. Beom-woo says he doesn't want to live like they used to and wonders if Chairman Han is even happy.
In the morning, Yeon-joo finds a sunhat waiting for her on the kitchen counter. Alongside is a note from Beom-woo, with an apology. The cameras are set up once again and Chairman Han arrives. Yeon-joo starts cooking and then orders Chun-seung to make the brothers sit at the same table as Chairman Han.
She then brings the food over, although it's covered. Yeon-joo then shocks everyone by telling Chairman Han that she didn't cook the food to be judged. She admits defeat. She then reveals that she's made a standard home cooked breakfast for all of them.
Beom-woo and Sun-woo convince Chairman Han to try the food. A flashback shows Chairman Han cooking shrimp rice jeon on TV, the same dish that Yeon-joo has just made. At present, Chairman Han can't help but eat the entire dish.
Despite Yeon-joo admitting defeat, Chairman Han ultimately tells Yeon-joo to keep Jungjae. She admits that they would have just opened shop elsewhere anyway. But on the way home, she tells Sun-woo to let her know when he's visiting his grandmother's resting place.
Finally alone, Yeon-joo admits she's letting Beom-woo off the hook since she likes him. Beom-woo hugs her and tells her he loves her. They're about to kiss when they're interrupted by Chun-seung and Myung-sook.
Elsewhere, Young-hye has opened a food truck. Yu-jin, having quit from Hansang, turns up to help her business since he likes her cooking. Sometime later, Myung-sook participates in a collab with Chun-seung's restaurant. She is ecstatic to see the lead actor from her favourite drama turn up at the restaurant.
Sun-woo and Chairman Han do indeed visit his grandmother but along with a camera crew. Even though her tears are only for the sake of Producer Kim's show, Chairman Han does agree to come back. Meanwhile, Beom-woo fixes things with the restaurant owner who set Jungjae on fire. The man gets his restaurant back and Sun-woo promises to support him.
We then see Beom-woo enter Jungjae and find Yeon-joo in the garden, like he did all that time ago. This time, she greets him with a hug and a kiss.
The Episode Review
Episode 10 is a solid finale! The episode uses the cook-off as the climax, having Motto and Jungjae fight against each other. Except Jungjae puts its very existence on the line. While I did miss seeing Yeon-joo for the first part of the finale, it's pretty nice to see Myung-sook hold her own. It really speaks to her development as a cook.
All the visuals of the food are immaculate as usual and both dishes complex enough to feel worthy of a competition like this. Chairman Han's last minute decision also offers a nice twist and feels in line with her development as a villain.
The rest of the episode does feel a tad contrived though. It's hard to believe that one dish was enough for Chairman Han to change her mind. I do appreciate that the final segment shows she didn't suddenly turn a new leaf and that there is some nuance there. The resolution of Yeon-joo and Beom-woo's relationship is pretty sweet, particularly that conversation where she lists all the chances she's given him.
All the same, I wish we had more time focused on them as a couple, maybe talking out the issue, rather than Yeon-joo learning about Beom-woo's life from other people and understanding him. It's well played out but some additional focus on just the two of them could have added more meat to this finale.
Overall though, this is a tightly written episode that wraps up most loose ends, throws in a few good laughs, and completes Beom-woo's redemption arc.

And there were two portraits where she had white stuff on her face, which was likely an exotic facial. Kim did nothing to explain what she was up to as her caption simply read, 'The things we do.' 'His team treated my shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells, and the results were immediate. 'I regained full range of motion, and my shoulder has felt completely normal ever since. 'Encouraged by this success, I recently returned to Dr. Khan to address chronic back pain that I have been suffering with for years. 'The Muse stem cell treatment was a game-changer once again. 'If you're struggling with back pain, I can't recommend this treatment enough - it's transformed my life when I thought my body was breaking down. 'Of course, everyone is different, and I'm just sharing what has worked for me lately. Definitely do your own homework and talk to medical professionals. 'Since Muse stem cells aren't yet accessible in the US, I had to travel to Mexico to be treated by Dr. Khan's team. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity and resources to pursue this healing, and I pray the science continues to evolve so more people can benefit.
