Shinde has shown 'real Shiv Sena', says Amit Shah; Raut rubbishes claim

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has shown the "real Shiv Sena" to everybody, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said, drawing a sharp reaction from the Shiv Sena (UBT).
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday claimed Shah's remark had rubbed salt into the wounds of Marathi people.
Shah made the remark on Friday while acknowledging the presence of Shinde at an event organised by the lobby grouping Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture (MACCIA) here.
The Bal Thackeray-founded party split in June 2022 after Shinde rebelled and brought down the Maha Vikas Aghadi government under Uddhav Thackeray. Since then, the two factions have been engaged in an acrimonious battle to lay claim to the founder's legacy and be called the "real Shiv Sena".
"Shinde has shown which is the real Shiv Sena to everybody," Shah said.
The remarks come a day after both the Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray factions, now called Shiv Sena and Shiv Sena (UBT), respectively, celebrated the undivided party's foundation day.
Meanwhile, taking a dig at Shah, Raut said calling Shinde's party the "real Shiv Sena" is akin to saying the Republican Party in the US belongs to Ramdas Athawale.
"Everyone knows Amit Shah owns Shinde's party. He says Shinde's outfit is the real Shiv Sena. It is like saying the Republican Party in the US belongs to Ramdas Athawale. US President Donald Trump belongs to the Republican Party, and Athawale, who is a minister in the Modi government, heads the Republican Party of India (A)," the Sena (UBT) MP told reporters.
He claimed that despite all efforts, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is standing tall, and this is frustrating the ruling alliance.
In polls held in November last year for the 288-member Maharashtra assembly, the Shinde-led Shiv Sena won in 57 constituencies, while the Sena (UBT) could clinch only 20 seats. In 36 seats, the Shiv Sena candidate defeated Sena (UBT) contestants.
The battle of the Senas is bound to get more fierce in the upcoming local body polls across the state, especially in Mumbai, the country's richest civic body, which was a bastion of the undivided Shiv Sena for many decades.

Uddhav should think if his surname is Thackeray or Gandhi, says Shiv Sena's Shaina NC

On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the Yoga Sangam theme, which aims to unite people from diverse backgrounds. She also appreciated the Ministry of Ayush for introducing Yoga Samavesh, an initiative that brings together different groups. Shaina alleged that Sena UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray was allegedly aligning with Rahul Gandhi's ideology.(ANI) "I'd like to applaud Prime Minister Modi for launching the theme of Yoga Sangam, which unites people from all backgrounds. The Ministry of Ayush has also introduced the Yoga Samavesh this year, which brings different groups together. International Yoga Day marks a global celebration worldwide with a theme of Yoga for One Earth and One Health...", Shaina NC told ANI on Saturday. The 11th International Day of Yoga saw widespread participation across states. The theme for this year is "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," which echoes India's vision of global wellness and reflects the integrated vision of well-being. It emphasises the interconnectedness of human and planetary health, drawing from the Indian ethos of "Sarve Santu Niramaya" (May all be free from disease). Shaina attacked Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, stating that while Eknath Shinde's faction of Shiv Sena practices what they preach, Shiv Sena (UBT) follows the Congress party. She alleged that Uddhav Thackeray left the foundational ideology of the party, which was given by Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray. Shaina took a jibe at Uddhav Thackeray, stating that he should think whether his surname is Gandhi, for allegedly aligning with Rahul Gandhi's ideology. "Shiv Sena (UBT) continues to comment over Eknath Shinde - but they don't realise what Eknath Shinde says, he does. On the other hand, it's Shiv Sena (UBT), and what they say is the thought of Congress. They left their foundational ideology, which Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray gave... Uddhav Thackeray should think that his name is Uddhav Thackeray or Uddhav Gandhi, as he is pushing the ideology of Rahul Gandhi...", Shaina NC told ANI Earlier, marking International Yoga Day with a political twist, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde took a veiled jab at his rivals, referring to his 2022 rebellion as the "bada Yoga" (big yoga) that changed the course of Maharashtra's politics. Highlighting the day his faction split from the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, Shinde quipped that June 21 marked the beginning of a "marathon yoga" session that, in his words, brought political stability and development to the state." '21 taarikh ko hi humne bada Yoga kiya tha,'" Shinde quipped, referring to the dramatic split in Shiv Sena that toppled Uddhav Thackeray's government. Speaking to ANI, Eknath Shinde said, "'21 taarikh ko hi humne bada Yoga kiya tha (splitting of Shiv Sena into two factions), wo marathon Yoga tha". That Yoga began in Mumbai, and because of that, on June 21, Maharashtra has changed a lot; we are seeing development here. Our government has been working for the people. Devendra Fadnavis and I are working in this direction under the guidance of PM Modi and also Union Home Minister Amit Shah." The party founded by Bal Thackeray, known as Shiv Sena (UBT), split in June 2022 when Eknath Shinde rebelled, leading to the fall of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government headed by Uddhav Thackeray. Since then, the two factions have been locked in a bitter battle.

About 8.5 lakh applications received in Revenue Sadassus and 60% of them resolved: Minister Ponguleti

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Congress government was systematically cleansing the revenue system that was plagued by corruption and mismanagement during the decade-long BRS rule. Speaking at a review meeting with officials on Saturday, the Minister stated that the recently concluded State-wide revenue sessions have ushered in a new era of transparency in land administration. Stating that the outreach was extensive, the Minister revealed that 10,725 revenue sessions were conducted in three phases across 593 mandals, during which a total of 8.58 lakh applications related to land issues were received. In the first phase (April 17 to 30), 72 revenue sessions across 4 mandals were held and 12,000 applications were received. In Phase-2 (from May 5), 414 sessions across 28 mandals were held and 46,000 applications were received. In the last phase (June 3 to 20), 10,239 sessions were held across 561 mandals and 8 lakh applications were received. The highest applications were received in Khammam (67,000) followed by Bhadradri Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Jayashankar Bhupalapalli (48,000) and Nalgonda (42,000). The Minister noted that more than 60% of issues, excluding those involving title complexities, have already been resolved, reflecting the responsive nature of the new system introduced by the government. He said special efforts were made to make the process accessible and transparent. On the eve of each revenue conference, free application forms were distributed to farmers in villages. Special MRO-led teams received applications without collecting any fees and provided receipts on the spot. Out of the total received, 3.27 lakh applications have already been digitised and registered online. The Minister alleged that the revenue system, once destroyed and paralysed by political negligence, was now being rebuilt with the trust of the people. The implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act was launched on April 14 by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

L-G's office undermining democratic governance in J&K: NC Jammu chief

National Conference's (NC) provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta expressed "serious concern" on Saturday (June 21, 2025) over the interference of the Lieutenant Governor's office in the functioning of the democratically elected government in Jammu and Kashmir. He described the situation as "undemocratic, unconstitutional and deeply troubling" for the people of the Union Territory. Interacting with senior party functionaries at the Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Mr. Gupta urged the BJP-led Centre to immediately intervene and ensure that constitutional norms are upheld in letter and spirit. "The Business Rules must be sent back to the elected government without any further delay and the L-G's office should step back from managing the departments falling under the government's domain. The will of the people cannot be held hostage to bureaucratic overreach," he said. "India is a democratic country where governments are elected by people and their mandate must be respected," the NC leader added. "The people of Jammu and Kashmir have chosen their representatives with the hope that, as assured by the prime minister and the (Union) home minister, full statehood would be restored and the democratic machinery would function smoothly. "But, unfortunately, eight months have passed and the Centre has miserably failed to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, and the L-G's office has still not sent back the Business Rules to the elected government," he said. Mr. Gupta said that although the home department, including law and order, remains under the L-G's exclusive control, the rest of the departments are under the government. "Yet, the L-G's office continues to meddle in day-to-day governance, creating a dual power structure that is causing institutional confusion and administrative chaos," he said. Mr. Gupta said if the government, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, does something in the larger public interest, the L-G's office must appreciate that, but "it thinks otherwise". "Such actions are sending a wrong message that the people's mandate is being undermined and disrespected," he said, adding that such overreach is further alienating the public, especially in a region already grappling with administrative chaos. "Jammu and Kashmir is a border state. Instead of enabling the elected government to function freely and deliver governance, the L-G's office is acting otherwise," he said.
