Raja Muda of Perlis urges digital literacy via NADI hubs
PADANG BESAR: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, encouraged residents to maximise the benefits of National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) for personal and community growth. The initiative symbolises successful collaboration to ensure widespread digital benefits, he said. 'This integrated effort should be continued and expanded to ensure a continuous impact on the people,' he stressed. The programme includes public engagement sessions, cybersecurity awareness, and e-learning opportunities. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin highlighted that digital transformation goes beyond infrastructure, requiring trust and ethical practices. 'I envision a younger generation that is tech-savvy, confident senior citizens and youth with leadership spirit and responsibility,' he said. Perlis Connect, a joint effort by MCMC and Bernama, educates the public on safe internet usage and roaming awareness. It also promotes NADI facilities and supports local entrepreneurs in marketing their products. PETALING JAYA: According to a statement on the Selangor Royal Facebook page, SIS stands for Sultan Idris Shah, the ninth Sultan of Selangor. 'In conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of Sultan Sharafuddin in December 2025 and the Silver Jubilee marking the 25th year of His Majesty's reign in 2026, NPI with the index mark 'SIS' will be offered to the public. 'The Transport Ministry, through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), will offer the 'SIS' NPI via online bidding through the JPJeBid system. 'The bidding process is subject to the existing terms and conditions set through the JPJeBid system,' the statement said, adding that bidding will open today and close at 10pm on Aug 19, with results to be announced on Aug 20. It added that the bidding price will follow the minimum price set by JPJ, which will be the sole entity managing the sale of the NPI, with no third-party involvement. 'Part of the proceeds will go to a foundation under the Sultan's patronage to fund charitable activities, scholarships and emergency relief for victims of natural disasters. 'The foundation will be chaired by Selangor Royal Council member and former Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim and will be managed with transparent governance procedures,' it said.
