Peaky Blinders auction of original costumes raises £19k for cancer charity
The 48-year-old Irish actor wore the period-style grey three-piece suit in the final episode of the sixth series.
The suit, which came with a handwritten note on a piece of script found in a pocket which says: 'takes off ring', sold for £1,650.
The highest price of £3,000 was fetched by a three-piece woollen suit, also worn by Murphy as Tommy Shelby, which comes with a label reading 'Tommy suit C'.
A hat worn by Sam Claflin, who played fascist MP Oswald Mosley during series five and six, sold for £180, and a coat worn by the late Helen McCrory as Shelby family matriarch Polly Gray in episode four of series three sold for £650.
Other auctioned costumes and accessories included Tommy Shelby's wedding suit in episode one of the third season, which sold for £1,600, an embroidered jacket worn by Aimee Ffion Edwards as Esme Shelby in season six, sold for £240, as well as hats, dresses, ties, and shoes from the hit show.
The Omega Auctions sale ran for four weeks from April 22.
It concluded on May 20 with a themed event held at the Peaky Blinders bar on Peter Street in Manchester, featuring costume displays and live bidding.
All proceeds from the auction have gone to The Christie Charity, which supports cancer patients and research at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester.
Oscar-winner Murphy is set to reprise his role as Birmingham gangster Shelby in a film set after the final season of the show, which ran from 2013 to 2022.
Across six series, Peaky Blinders tackled the rise of fascism, Irish republican politics, and communist activities through the period following the First World War, along with Shelby's political ambitions.
The sequel movie written by the show's creator and screenwriter Steven Knight is due for release this autumn.

Wrexham smashes its transfer record by signing Broadhead in a deal worth up to $13.5M
Wrexham's spending moved into a new stratosphere Thursday when the team owned by Hollywood celebrities signed winger Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich in a club-record deal that could reportedly reach 10 million pounds ($13.50 million). It took the Welsh club's outlay in the transfer market to more than 20 million pounds ($27 million) in this window as Wrexham reshapes its squad for life in the second-tier Championship following an unprecedented three straight promotions. The 27-year-old Wales international is a former Wrexham academy player and a versatile forward who was a fringe player at Ipswich in the Premier League last season. 'He's a local boy who had a real desire to come and play for his hometown club," Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said in the team's announcement. King Charles to mark 80th anniversary of VJ Day with address
King Charles will mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on Friday with a message paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of military personnel in the second world war who fought and died in the Pacific and far east, saying they will never be forgotten. In an address, Charles will reflect on the horrors experienced by prisoners of war and civilians of occupied lands in the region 'whose suffering reminds us that war's true cost extends beyond battlefields, touching every aspect of life'. VJ Day on 15 August marks the anniversary of Japan's surrender to the allies after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, which in effect ended the second world war. The message will be released at 7.30am on Friday, before the king and queen attend a service of remembrance with veterans and the prime minister, Keir Starmer, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. On Friday evening, hundreds of buildings across the country will be lit up to mark VJ 80 as part of commemoration events planned throughout the UK. In his six-minute speech, echoing the historic broadcast by his grandfather, George VI, Charles will describe how the heroes of VJ Day 'gave us more than freedom; they left us the example of how it can and must be protected', with victory made possible by close collaboration between nations 'across vast distances, faiths and cultural divides'. He will say this demonstrated how 'in times of war and in times of peace, the greatest weapons of all are not the arms you bear but the arms you link', and will add the service and sacrifice of veterans and those who lost their lives fighting in the conflict 'shall never be forgotten'. Friday's televised service, broadcast live by the BBC, will pay tribute to all those who served in the Asia-Pacific theatre, including Burma Star recipients, British Indian army veterans, former prisoners of war, and those who fought in pivotal battles including Kohima and Imphal in India. Charles, Queen Camilla and other senior figures will leave floral tributes during the service, which will be hosted by the Royal British Legion in partnership with the government. A national two-minute silence will conclude with an aerial display by the Red Arrows and the service will draw to a close with a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, before the king and queen attend a reception with second world war veterans.
