CELTIC have made a perfect start to their title defence by claiming a second win of the season.
Benjamin Nygren's first goal for the club and a spectacular effort from Reo Hatate saw Brendan Rodgers' side ease to a 2-0 win away to Aberdeen.

The win follows a harder-fought 1-0 win over St Mirren on the opening day – and leaves the Hoops at the top of the table as the only team, so far, with maximum points from two matches.
In contrast, Rangers have struggled in their opening two domestic matches.
They followed up a 1-1 draw away to Motherwell with the same result at home to Dundee yesterday.
That means they trail their big rivals by FOUR points already – and with a massive Old Firm derby looming at the end of the month.
That's enough of a gap for one bookmaker to pay out on all bets on Celtic to win the Premiership title this season.
Irish-based Paddy Power have made a bit of a habit of writing off Rangers' championship chances after just a few matches.
And they've decided they've seen enough after just two games to declare Celtic as champions elect.
They announced on X: 'EARLY PAYOUT! Right, we've seen enough.
'We're paying out on Celtic to win the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership!
'Applies to all singles and multis, online and retail.'
I'm a Celtic-daft bride – I called off the big day but I still celebrated in my wedding dress at Parkhead
It's become an annual PR gimmick from the bookie – but fans were still lapping it up.
One commented: 'Wee bit later than expected but congrats on the pay out troops.'
Another said: 'Took a week longer than expected.'
And a third added: 'Paddy Power know the script.'
While a fourth laughed: 'Easiest bet you will do every year. Money back before the kids go back to school.'

Some footy fans also saw it as another slap in the face for Russell Martin as he continues his rebuilding at Ibrox.
One said: 'This is so embarrassing for Rangers.'
A second added: 'Rangers are terrible, they won't even get 2nd. Hibs or Hearts to finish behind Celtic.'
And another noted: 'Scottish football, just an absolute waste of everyone's time and money.'
While another joked: 'Harsh on Hibs. Thought they could still give us a game.'

Celtic trolled by Scottish Premiership rivals ahead of Parkhead visit as club aim cheeky dig at stadium

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CELTIC have the biggest stadium in Scottish football with an attendance of over 60,000. But that hasn't stopped Premiership rivals Livingston from aiming a cheeky dig at the Hoops on social media - over the stadium's away section. Sign up for the Celtic newsletter Sign up 1 View of Celtic Park Credit: Kenny Ramsay Celtic host Falkirk tomorrow in the Premier Sports Cup and then face David Martindale's Livi side at the same venue the following Saturday - after the Scottish Champions' first leg against Kairat Almaty. It's not often that Celtic have THREE home games in a row, with the cup and European schedule allowing that to be the case over the coming 10 days. But while that might be a positive for Celtic fans, the same can't be said for away supporters, according to Livingston's latest social media post. The Lions appeared to aim a cheeky and subtle dig at the Scottish champions with a post on X ahead of Saturday's big showdown in the East End of Glasgow. Like most football clubs, the Almondvale side stuck out a post tonight ahead of the game with ticket information for fans who plan on attending. But it wasn't just any old post as they also took a swipe at the Hoops' infamous away end in the graphic they uploaded. The club used an image from behind the steel pillar at Celtic Park which countless away fans have been left furious by in recent years - after having a restricted view of the pitch. It's a sight away supporters - who have visited the stadium previously - are well aware of and it's fair to say the post has gone down well with fans of other Scottish clubs. Celtic fans, though, haven't taken the tongue-in-cheek post as well as others. It has went down a storm on social media with well over 200,000 users viewing it already. Livingston boss David Martindale opens his heart on life before, during and after prison.. and the managers he admires most And reacting to the post, one fan wrote: "Absolutely top trolling of Celtic. This is the exact view many away fans get when visiting Celtic." Another said: "It's funny cos it's true. The most restricted views in world football." A third commented: "Amazing. Truly the worst stadium for restricted views in Scotland if not the UK." In a statement on Livingston's website, they revealed fans who wish to be seated with a "non-restricted view" of the game will be charged £36, while those seated behind the pillar will need to pay £33. Tarbolton double act hailed for work in finding next Scots stars

Stuart Ferguson and Billy Alexander have been honoured for their work with the Scottish Schools' FA. They're the double act tasked with talent spotting the next big thing in women's football. ‌ But to the Ant and Dec of the Ayr United Football Academy, it's all for the love of the game. ‌ Stuart Ferguson and Billy Alexander are practically inseperable as they travel the country in search of new stars. ‌ The duo's work on behalf of the Scottish Schools FA is far reaching, and has now been been formally recognised by grateful Hampden bosses. The pair have both received Volunteer of the Year awards for their coaching exploits. Ferguson and Alexander admit their bond - the pair have been pals since they could walk the streets of Tarbolton together - makes their role an enjoyable one. Alexander has been part of the overall AUFA furniture for more than a decade and famously quotes Ben Doak among his alumni. "Don't get him started on that one!" raps Ferguson, who joined the Academy in later years and now plays a pivotal role in United's women's setup. Outside of Somerset Park, the pair have been working together since 2018 on behalf of the Scottish Schools' FA to find and develop the best young women's players. ‌ Billy, 40, said: "There's a total of six squads around the country, for which we take charge of the south-west. "That involves holding trials, selecting a squad and then going to a tournament stage. From there an overall Scottish squad is selected. "The likes of Erin Cuthbert have come through the system and it's really effective in finding talent." ‌ Billy and Stuart are infamously known to be found in far flung locations watching trial games in a bid to unearth the next hidden gem. And the pair have hailed their childhood friendship as the key to making their partnership work, which has now led to them bagging their awards. ‌ Billy said: "We've known each other since nursery. Tarbolton is like Coronation Street - everybody knows everybody. "It's one of those where we've been around each other since we could walk, pretty much. "We even carried the Commonwealth baton through the village back in 2014. Plus Stuart is my taxi, so I always need to get on with him!" ‌ Stuart, 39, who heads the United Women's Under 18s side, added: "I think it helps that we get on so well in and out of football. "When it comes to making decisions on players and selecting squads, it's important to have that level of trust and understanding. "There are definitely times we disagree on things and there's no doubt our job has become harder in that respect because the professionalism of the women's game is going through the roof. ‌ "Trials can be a hard process - you're taking more than 100 girls and getting them down to a squad of 16 or 18. It's not an easy process." Billy agreed: "The standard is improving all the time, which is great. ‌ "And yeah, there's times when we don't necessarily agree but that's where compromise comes in and it helps with our background away from football. "At the end of the day, we don't do these things for awards so it's nice to be recognised." Jim Bettley, President of the Scottish Schools' FA, said: "These guys give up their own time to come and help people play at the highest level they can. "Nothing has been too much trouble for them - they've excelled themselves in everything they do and are selfless. They are an example to everyone else. "Their friendship comes across in what they do. You can see how they interact and they take that attitude on to the pitch with them. Fun is always at the heart of it."

Rangers see transfer bid for target rejected as club insiders left 'baffled' at Ibrox offer knockback

The Light Blues and West Ham had lodged offers for the highly-rated 20-year-old Rangers have reportedly had a bid rejected for Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles. ‌ And it's the decision is said to have BAFFLED insiders at the cash-strapped Championship club. ‌ Russell Martin has already swooped on the Owls by landing flying machine Djeidi Gassama earlier this summer. ‌ Gassama has been an instant hit at Ibrox, netting four goals in the Champions League to move Gers within touching distance of the playoffs. Keeper Jack Butland has also been instrumental in helping Gers negotiate tough ties against Panathinakos and Viktoria Plzen. But according to the Telegraph, the Light Blues are in the market for another shotstopper. It's claimed that Hillsborough chiefs have knocked back £1million-plus bids from both Rangers and West Ham for highly-rated Charles. Financially-stricken Wednesday are struggling for cash and wages for players and staff have been late four months out of five. Controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri is under pressure to sell the club but has thrown out multiple offers for 20-year-old Charles. ‌ It remains to be seen whether Rangers or the Hammers will return to the negotiating table with an improved bid. Northern Ireland international Charles has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom at Hillsborough and is under contract for another two years.
