Hawks' Eli Ndiaye suffers shoulder injury with Spanish national team
Atlanta Hawks rookie Eli Ndiaye has left the Spanish national team after suffering an injury, the Spanish Basketball Federation announced on Wednesday.
Ndiaye has withdrawn from training camp in Madrid ahead of the 2025 EuroBasket Championship because of discomfort in his left shoulder. He is expected to undergo further medical testing to determine the severity of the injury.
The 21-year-old was among several notable players who earned a place on the 15-man roster for the 42nd edition of the European tournament, joining Santi Aldama, Juancho Hernangómez, Willy Hernangómez and Joel Parra, among others.
Ndiaye signed a two-way contract with the Hawks on July 3 after joining the Real Madrid Academy in 2017. He made his first team debut in September 2021 and has won eight titles across several levels: European Cup (1), Copa del Rey (1), Spanish Super Cup (3) and ACB (3).
The 6-foot-8 Senagalese-Spanish forward averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds on 40.5% shooting from the field in 65 games across all league competitions last season. He started and saw 12 minutes on June 25, helping Real Madrid to its second consecutive Liga ACB championship.
Ndiaye debuted with the Hawks in the NBA Summer League on July 11, recording 12 points and six rebounds. He was limited to one appearance due to a left wrist injury.

Advertisement Son had suitors from around the globe after he decided to leave Tottenham, and he said the decision to join LAFC initially wasn't obvious. He did not set a date for his LAFC debut, but it could be this month. Advertisement 'I just felt like I need a new chapter, I need a new challenge, and I choose LAFC,' Son said. 'I think we can say I'm old, but I still have a good physicality, good legs, and still have a good quality. I'm here to perform, but also I want to give some advice to the young players for improvement. That's why we are here.'

Real Madrid could accept Rodrygo swap for Premier League star
Real Madrid could accept Rodrygo swap for Premier League star originally appeared on The Sporting News As the La Liga transfer window enters its final weeks the main exit story at Real Madrid has taken an unexpected turn at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. The club have already brought in Franco Mastantuono, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alvaro Carreras and Dean Huijsen this summer, but there is still room for more activity, if the right opportunity comes along. One possible move could involve Rodrygo Goes leaving the Spanish capital, which could open the path for the arrival of a top central defender before the market closes. Earlier in the window Defensa Central [via Football365] said Arsenal made an 'offer' to Los Blancos to swap Rodrygo for William Saliba in a bold transfer change. The 24-year-old French defender is out of contract with the Gunners in 2027 and has become one of the most in demand centre backs in Europe. Arsenal's initial approach this summer has been to strengthen their front line and that could now force a sale. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Real Madrid could swap Rodrygo for Saliba In their latest update the Spanish outlet claim Real Madrid could accept a swap if the circumstances are right. The club have shifted focus back to Saliba with Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate the other option. Getty Images Although the swap deal is not officially on the table, reports suggest Real Madrid could still consider it, if Mikel Arteta is in favour. Rodrygo is increasingly viewed as expendable in Xabi Alonso's plans, and strengthening the central defensive positions remains a top priority for the club, which sees the final weeks of the window as crucial.
