Luxury Retail Still Prevails on Mount Street

LONDON — In Mayfair, retail is bucking the luxury slowdown. Grosvenor, which owns prime retail property across London, is strategizing to keep the momentum going this summer with the Mount Street Neighbourhood Summer Festival as it celebrates the neighborhood's fashion, food and art offerings. More from WWD Franz Kraler to Open Luxury Ski-slope Chalet in Cortina d'Ampezzo Five Modes Boutiques Reopen Under New Italian Company Jewelry Brand Vickisarge Gets the Val Garland Makeover The crown jewels of the Mount Street Neighbourhood include diamond jeweler Jessica McCormack, the luxury hotel The Connaught, fashion designer Huishan Zhang, the Prada-owned patisserie Marchesi and the restaurant Hideaway. There's also openings taking place this summer from chocolatier Barnaby, perfume brand Fueguia 1833 and celebrity facialist and aesthetician Melanie Grant. 'After COVID-19, Mount Street came out of the block so strongly mainly because we'd cemented it as a neighborhood and we've made the strategic decision to really widen that tenant mix that's less dominated by fashion,' said Joanna Lea, Mayfair retail portfolio director at Grosvenor. Grosvenor has brought a set of consultants onboard to better understand the neighborhood's clientele, which makes up 5 to 10 percent of the world's global wealth. The Mount Street Neighborhood has been rebranding itself image-wise and on social media since October, around the same time that Frieze London kicked off. The neighborhood is being treated like a set of sails that reacts to the winds, in this case the cultural events taking place in and out of the city, from BST Hyde Park, Royal Ascot, the RCA Summer Exhibition to the Wimbledon Championships. The English pub the Audley Public House will be hosting 'A Week of Wimbledon' in July, serving up strawberries and cream with Pimm's and Wimbledon Martinis, but the beer on tap will stay put. 'When we think about programming Mount Street, we don't operate like a normal shopping neighborhood and think about Mother's Day or Easter, but instead it's about thinking about an international high-net-worth calendar,' said Lea, adding that they also take national holidays such as Saudi National Day and Fourth of July. American and Middle Eastern customers are the top spenders on Mount Street and it's a clientele that Grosvenor caters to carefully by vetting any newcomers into the neighborhood. 'No brand will come to the estate without us having met them. Ultimately, it's a people business and we want to do deals with great people because experience tells us that pays us dividends over the long term,' said Lea. Even though the luxury slowdown hasn't hit the Mount Street Neighborhood directly, luxury brands that are signing up for spaces in the neighborhood are taking a cautious approach by bidding on smaller units to test the waters before upgrading to larger spaces in the long run. WWE Money in the Bank 2025 Predictions for Both Ladder Matches

WWE Money in the Bank 2025 Predictions for Both Ladder Matches originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Every year, wrestling purists say it's time to get rid of the Money in the Bank ladder matches. They say that cashing in the briefcase to defeat a tired or injured opponent is a cheap way to win a World championship. Advertisement Indeed, that has happened many times over the years, starting with Edge beating John Cena for the WWE title in 2006. But these purists don't realize that it's very difficult to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. First, you have to win a Triple Threat qualifying match. Then, you have to survive an insane ladder match against five opponents. So these purists need to realize that the Money in the Bank ladder match is like a World championship match. The winner just needs the pick the right moment to collect the gold. So, who are the big favorites and dark horses for this Saturday's ladder matches? Rhea Ripley (Getty) Rhea Ripley is the obvious favorite on the women's side. She is a three-time champion, and she possesses the power and aggression to prevail in a ladder match. Nobody would be surprised to see Ripley become 'Mami in the Bank.' Advertisement Remember, the women's briefcase holder has a perfect 8-for-8 record at becoming World champion. So, is there anyone else who could grab the briefcase and sneak their way to a title victory? My money is on Roxanne Perez. She is already sneaking her way into The Judgment Day by offering chicken nuggets and apples to its members. Finn Balor is supporting her membership in the group. Perez could win the briefcase and use The Judgment Day's help to become champion. Recently, Perez told USA Today that she is starting to feel comfortable in the locker room with the superstars that she grew up watching on TV. Stephanie Vaquer is another contender to win the briefcase. The rest of the field includes Naomi, Giulia, and Alexa Bliss. Seth Rollins and friends attack Jey Uso (Getty) Seth Rollins is the favorite to win the men's briefcase. Paul Heyman has already announced his plan to have Rollins win it and cash in on Jey Uso for the World title. Rollins and his henchmen, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, have already attacked Uso, previewing the blueprint for a successful cash-in. Advertisement Of course, this scheme could easily fall apart. Sami Zayn and CM Punk have come to Uso's aid and could thwart the efforts of Rollins' men. Looking at the rest of the field, LA Knight stands out as the best of the rest. He rode a huge wave of crowd support to win the US title from Logan Paul at SummerSlam. He could capture the briefcase and blow the roof off the arena by cashing in at the perfect time. The rest of the field includes Andrade, Penta, Solo Sikoa, and El Grande Americano. Penta would be a fun choice as a surprise. Sikoa doesn't seem like he's ready for a World title, despite having Bloodline 3.0 behind him. The fact that so many different possibilities exist is a great argument for the Money in the Bank concept to last for many years to come. Don't forget, both World champions will be wrestling in the main event, as John Cena & Logan Paul face Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso. Sometimes, the Money in the Bank winner grabs the World title on the same night. Advertisement Related: Is WWE Still Being Run by the Spirit of Vince McMahon? Who Will Win the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments?

Who Will Win the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments? originally appeared on Athlon Sports. King of the Ring used to have its own pay-per-view, starting with Bret Hart's win in 1993. These days, the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments take place on Raw and Smackdown, with the final matches scheduled for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28. Advertisement The winners get World championship matches at SummerSlam, which is a far more valuable prize than the right to walk around with a crown on your head. Gunther and Nia Jax won the tournaments last year, and they both won their championship matches at SummerSlam in Cleveland. Nia Jax (Getty) Sami Zayn and Roxanne Perez won their four-way matches on Raw to advance to the tournament semifinals. Next week's Raw will feature Sheamus vs. Bronson Reed vs. Rusev vs. a mystery opponent; and Stephanie Vaquer vs. Ivy Nile vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka. On Smackdown, these are the first-round matchups: · Charlotte Flair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Candice LeRae Advertisement · Nia Jax vs. Piper Niven vs. Michin vs. Jade Cargill · Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Aleister Black · Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Andrade vs. Damien Priest In an interesting twist, the semifinal matchups will be Raw vs. Smackdown. So, who's going to win? Charlotte Flair is the favorite on the women's side. She has racked up more than a dozen World titles, just like her dad. And she calls herself the Queen! On the men's side, I'm going to go way off book and predict that the mystery opponent is going to win the entire thing. Who might that be? Ron Killings (Getty) Ron Killings is the hottest wrestler in WWE, surviving unemployment and coming back with a new name and attitude. In the same way that Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso rode a massive wave of fan support to a World championship, the former R-Truth could go all the way to SummerSlam and win the WWE title in a rematch with John Cena. Advertisement The fans chant, 'We want Truth!' Let's see if they can handle the Truth. Related: Who Will Face Gunther for the WWE World Title at SummerSlam?
