Who Will Win the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments? originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
King of the Ring used to have its own pay-per-view, starting with Bret Hart's win in 1993. These days, the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments take place on Raw and Smackdown, with the final matches scheduled for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on June 28.

The winners get World championship matches at SummerSlam, which is a far more valuable prize than the right to walk around with a crown on your head. Gunther and Nia Jax won the tournaments last year, and they both won their championship matches at SummerSlam in Cleveland.

Sami Zayn and Roxanne Perez won their four-way matches on Raw to advance to the tournament semifinals. Next week's Raw will feature Sheamus vs. Bronson Reed vs. Rusev vs. a mystery opponent; and Stephanie Vaquer vs. Ivy Nile vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka.
On Smackdown, these are the first-round matchups:
· Charlotte Flair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Candice LeRae

· Nia Jax vs. Piper Niven vs. Michin vs. Jade Cargill
· Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Aleister Black
· Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Andrade vs. Damien Priest
In an interesting twist, the semifinal matchups will be Raw vs. Smackdown. So, who's going to win? Charlotte Flair is the favorite on the women's side. She has racked up more than a dozen World titles, just like her dad. And she calls herself the Queen!
On the men's side, I'm going to go way off book and predict that the mystery opponent is going to win the entire thing. Who might that be?

Ron Killings is the hottest wrestler in WWE, surviving unemployment and coming back with a new name and attitude. In the same way that Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso rode a massive wave of fan support to a World championship, the former R-Truth could go all the way to SummerSlam and win the WWE title in a rematch with John Cena.

The fans chant, 'We want Truth!' Let's see if they can handle the Truth.

Paige Bueckers Reaches Impressive Career Milestone in Return From Injury

Paige Bueckers Reaches Impressive Career Milestone in Return From Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When the Dallas Wings secured the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft Lottery, it was clear they had their sights set on one player — former UConn star and national champion Paige Bueckers. Advertisement Bueckers has impressed early in her rookie campaign, showcasing the skills that made her one of the most highly anticipated prospects in years. However, her strong start was briefly interrupted after she entered concussion protocol, forcing her to miss the Wings' last four games. On Wednesday night, Bueckers made her much-anticipated return as the 1–9 Wings faced the Phoenix Mercury — and she didn't miss a beat. She came out firing, knocking down her first six shots from the field and finishing the first half with 22 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Her first-half performance wasn't just impactful — it was historic. According to "Polymarket Hoops," Bueckers became the fourth-fastest rookie in WNBA history to record at least 100 points, 25 rebounds, and 25 assists. The only players to achieve the milestone faster were Caitlin Clark, Candace Parker, and Cynthia Cooper. Entering Wednesday night, through six regular season games, Bueckers was averaging an impressive 14.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game. She's also been efficient, shooting 43.7% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range, and 80.8% from the free-throw line. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers is seen during the first half against the Chicago Sky at the Wintrust Gorski-Imagn Images Despite her strong individual performance, the Wings have struggled collectively. Their 1–9 record is currently the worst in the league. However, there's room for optimism — three of their next four opponents after Wednesday's matchup against the Mercury have sub-.500 records, giving Dallas a real opportunity to start turning things around. Paige Bueckers Makes Unexpected Food Admission: 'It's Just Gross to Me'

Paige Bueckers Makes Unexpected Food Admission: 'It's Just Gross to Me' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Dallas Wings star Paige Bueckers is off to a historic start to her rookie season in the WNBA. While her team has struggled to win games, the former UConn Huskies star has been showing everyone why she's the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft. Advertisement Through her first eight games of the season, Bueckers averaged 17.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 46.8% from the field. In a recent game against the Phoenix Mercury, the 23-year-old even made history. Not only did Bueckers become the fourth-fastest rookie ever to record at least 100 points, 25 rebounds and 25 assists, but she also joined Caitlin Clark as the only rookies ever to have a 35-point game with five made 3-pointers. Now that Bueckers is establishing herself as a star in the league, the WNBA is seizing the chance to introduce her more deeply to fans. In a video posted Friday before Dallas' game against the Las Vegas Aces, the Wings guard answered career and personal questions. Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers (5) reacts against the Phoenix J. Rebilas-Imagn Images Interestingly, when Bueckers was asked to share something that people don't know about her, she shared the fact that she doesn't like seafood. She proceeded to explain the reason why, noting that it's partly because of the 2004 animated film "Shark Tale." Advertisement "I think Shark Tales," Bueckers answered when asked if there's a "traumatizing" reason for her dislike of seafood. "Like the little shrimps, it was just so sad." However, Bueckers did admit that she generally doesn't like food that "tastes too fishy." "It's just gross to me," she added about seafood. Aside from her food admission, Paige Bueckers also discussed what she has learned from her WNBA career so far, sharing that learning terminology in the pros, adjusting to a new system and the physicality in the league have been quite the experience for her. She also revealed that she has taken a "huge social media break," so she hasn't seen as many of the TikTok edits that she was asked about. Brock Lesnar's daughter wins NCAA Division I women's shot put championship

The Lesnar genes are reigning supreme. Mya Lesnar, the daughter of WWE legend and former UFC champion Brock Lesnar, earned the NCAA Division I women's shot put crown on Friday. The Colorado State senior added to her already-impressive resume with her first outdoor track and field title - she won the indoor title in the 2023-24 season. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON Lesnar was unable to defend that championship earlier this year, despite winning the Mountain West championship. (She finished fourth at nationals.) But she came to the outdoor season with a vengeance. Her very first throw went 19.01 meters (62 feet, 4.5 inches), and no one else came particularly close for the rest of the meet. In fact, no else reached the 62-feet mark. "It was pretty cool. Obviously, throws like that don't happen often. To do it on my first one is pretty cool," Lesnar said after the meet. "It meant more to me to do it on the first one and start the competition strong." WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPION TIFFANY STRATTON GOES VIRAL AFTER FIRST PITCH AT METS GAME GOES HORRIBLY WRONG Earlier this season, Lesnar threw a career-best 19.60 meters, or 64'3.75". That is currently the seventh-longest throw by a woman this year. Lesnar has been named to both the indoor and outdoor All-Mountain West teams in each of the last three years. She also earned the conference's weight throw title during the 2023-24 indoor season. But it had been "a while" since she was "number one again." "A lot of emotions. A lot of hard work. A lot of dedication. And then just executing, not overthinking," she said. Lesnar's father won a national championship while wrestling at the University of Minnesota in 2000 in the 285-pound category. After that, he became an instant hit in the WWE, becoming the youngest person to be the company's main title belt at the age of 25 just two years later.
