CM seeks 800 more e-buses for City
New Delhi / Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has requested Union Minister of Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy to allocate 800 more electric buses to Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister met with the Union Minister in Delhi on Saturday and discussed the Central assistance in providing EV buses to the Telangana State. The CM said that 2,000 EV buses have already been allocated to Hyderabad recently and requested 800 additional EV buses under the PM-E Drive scheme to meet the growing needs of the city.

Gupta has strengthened democratic practices by ensuring equal opportunity for the opposition and maintaining the dignity of the House,' he said. He further described the Assembly building as a 'living heritage' that must be preserved for future generations. Speaker Vijender Gupta emphasized the Assembly's commitment to transparency, sustainable growth, and cultural preservation, stating that the report card goes beyond legislative statistics to showcase a progressive and citizen-focused legislative culture. Among the key accomplishments of the past 100 days was the successful implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), which enabled the Assembly to transition to a completely paperless format—an important step toward digital governance. In support of environmental sustainability, the Assembly also laid the foundation for a 500-kilowatt solar power plant, reinforcing its move toward green energy practices. Additionally, the traditional Assembly library was transformed into a Digital Knowledge Center, providing better access to legislative resources. A comprehensive plan has also been initiated for the conservation of the Assembly's architectural and historical heritage, ensuring that its legacy is preserved for future generations. The report card also outlined several initiatives designed to promote engagement and excellence within and beyond the legislative environment. Tribals up in arms against establishment of Tiger Zone
Asifabad: The tribals here are strongly opposing the government's declaration of Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district as a Tiger Zone in the name of Conservation of Forest. 113 blocks and 339 villages under the Asifabad, Sirpur Kagaznagar forest divisions of the district are coming under the Tiger Zone. The government issued GO 49 on the 30th of this month in the name of conservation forest, bringing about 16,000 hectares of land into this. Thus, the government's intention seems to be to protect tigers and wildlife, as well as to preserve the endangered forest wealth. The Tadoba and Tippeshwar sanctuaries in Maharashtra, which are neighboring the forest area of the district, are adjacent. From there, big tigers come and go to the district every season. They are trying to establish a habitat here. But due to various reasons, the tigers are returning. The tigers that have established a habitat are dying due to poachers. Keeping all this in mind, the Forest officials themselves say that the government has brought the forest area of the district along with the non-forest land under the tiger zone. But the people of the district are angry about this government decision. In particular, the tribals who rely on the forests are expressing the opinion that the establishment of the tiger zone has put their survival in question. He lashed out at the Central and state governments that the love for tigers does not belong to the tribals. In this context, the Tiger Zone movement is likely to take a serious turn. Meanwhile, PCCF Suvarna, who visited the district two days ago, assured that the people will not face any problems due to the establishment of the Tiger Zone. Union power ministry to act on Haryana's solar house proposal
Union power minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday lauded Haryana's proposal to build solar houses in villages and assured that the power ministry will move forward with the idea, a government spokesperson said. The suggestion was put forth by Haryana energy minister Anil Vij during the regional power ministers' conference (Northern Region), attended by representatives from eight states and UTs. Vij said the state is committed to promoting solar energy and aims to make Haryana self-reliant in electricity. A pilot project to set up solar houses is already underway, and if successful, it will be expanded across rural areas to ensure uninterrupted daytime power for farmers. Vij said the state government is making continuous efforts to promote solar energy so that Haryana becomes self-sufficient in electricity. He said department of new and renewable energy will construct solar houses in villages to ensure daytime electricity supply to farmers, enabling them to irrigate their fields and meet their power needs without depending on other sources. He also proposed a policy to regulate infrastructure such as poles and transmission lines over agricultural fields and residential areas. Vij recommended underground cabling in congested zones and called for a technical feasibility study to establish safety standards. Stressing the threat of cyber-attacks, Vij urged the Centre to frame a national cyber security policy for the power sector. Additional chief secretary of Haryana's energy department, AK Singh said that during the May 2025 conflict with Pakistan, web portals of UHBVN and DHBVN companies were targeted by hackers.
