'Distinctive' designer perfume that 'lasts over 24 hours' 50% less in Boots deal
This beloved Givenchy fragrance has remained a staple for many perfume buffs since it debuted in 1991.
Purchasing a new perfume is something that can be both exciting and expensive. It can be even pricier if that said bottle is one that has earned a famed reputation over the years.
Fortunately, Boots has come to rescue our bank balance by offering up to half-price on major brands such as Calvin Klein, Armani, BOSS, Ghost, Davidoff and much, much more.
One that has earned an almost perfect rating is the Givenchy Amarige Eau de Toilette, with reviews calling it a "timeless" and "distinctive" scent that has been a staple for many since the early 90s.
Even better, a large 100ml is now just £54.50, although it would usually cost £109, meaning shoppers are saving a full 50 percent off the RRP. Priced at £74.99 at The Perfume Shop, Boots is offering the better deal for customers.
Making its debut in 1991, Givenchy's Amarige, which is an anagram of the word mariage, has been described as a "veritable hymn to love" and was initially created as a fragrance for summer, so perfect for this time of year.

Product Description
Its scent makes up a "beautiful bouquet of white flowers", with top notes of tangerine, violet and rosewood being mixed with heart notes of gardenia, mimosa, red fruits and ylang-ylang.
The scent then finishes on "vibrant yet muted" base notes of ambergris, precious woods, musks and vanilla. The bottle, which was designed by perfume legend Pierre Dinand, takes inspiration from the ruffles sleeves of a Bettina Blouse designed by Givenchy.
Looking for something a touch more modern, but with the same floral scent? Then Gucci's Flora Gorgeous Gardenia also boasts a floral-powered scent, with a 30ml now costing £41.49 after being reduced from £70.
A bolder floral fragrance that other shoppers might want to consider is the Jimmy Choo Blossom Eau de Parfum, currently a number one bestseller on Amazon where a 40ml has been reduced from £36 to £18.95.
As for the Givenchy fragrance, it has currently earned itself a 4.8 rating based on multiple reviews from Boots shoppers who have praised it as "so classy" and "the best perfume of all times."

One five-star review read: "I bought this on offer at Boots, it was around £30 cheaper than anywhere else! It has an amazing timeless distinctive scent must be tried!"
A second loyal fan said: "The best perfume of all times! So classy! I'm glad it is back for it has been my signature perfume for more than a decade. Intense. Long lasting. Amazing. Complements galore!"
While a third fan remarked: "I have been using this perfume for almost 20 years - even now I am still complimented on the scent. I don't know how to describe it really, but it's different to a lot of the overpowering floral scents that are popular at the moment, it's classy and I love it. My daughter loves it too!"
Beauty deal of the week
Beauty fans looking to get a golden glow will know the benefit of tanning drops.
One bottle that has "blown away" shoppers is the Garnier Ambre Solaire Natural Bronzer Self Tan Face Drops - and they cost under £11 a bottle.
Ideal for those who don't want to go through the hassle of using a tanning mitt to prevent patchiness or orange-tones, these "lightweight" drops can be easily mixed into your favourite moisturiser for a flawless glow.
Since the drops offer a "buildable" bronzed look, many reviews have suggested that one of the positives is the ability to "control" the depth of their tan, unlike other products that deliver just one specific shade.
Enriched with skin-loving ingredients hyaluronic acid and coconut water, these Garnier drops also work to keep your skin "intensely moisturised" day by day.
Of course, with the reputation Garnier's Natural Bronzer Face Drops have earned, it's no surprise they have 4.2 rating based on over 2,000 reviews on Amazon alone, as shoppers call them a "little bottle of magic" for a "natural sun-kissed glow."
One purchaser said: "Blown away! I'm not a phaffer. I generally don't bother with things like tan and bronzer. But this little bottle of magic changed all that! I love it! I pop it on with my moisturiser and a couple of hours later I am actually glowing!
"I've been asked repeatedly if I've been on holiday, lost weight, got a new person, had a facelift or found a genie in a bottle. I'm so scared of running out I've stocked up!!"
Shop the Garnier Ambre Solaire Natural Bronzer Self Tan Face Drops for £10.67 on Amazon here.
As perfume preferences can differ, one shopper did find the scent a little "mature" for a younger audience. They said: "I purchased this perfume based solely on the reviews that I read here. I decided to give it a try.
"Not the type of fragrance that I was looking for. I am 29, I believe that a more mature in age woman would appreciate this fragrance. Not what I was expecting."
Nevertheless, another positive review read: "It smells really good and the perfume lasted for more than 24 hours."

Peregrine Falcon chick living on iconic Glasgow building dies after 'bird flu' scare
Jack, named after lovable Still Game character Jack Jarvis, was one of two chicks born in April on the gothic spire of the Gilbert Scott Building at the University of Glasgow. A peregrine falcon chick which lived on the roof of a Scots university has sadly been put to sleep after suspected 'bird flu'. Jack, named after lovable Still Game character Jack Jarvis, was one of two chicks born in April on the gothic spire of the Gilbert Scott Building at the University of Glasgow. Jack hatched alongside brother Victor in the spring at the nest of proud parents Bonnie and Clyde. The stunning raptors were being closely monitored by a the Glasgow Peregrine Project. The duo inspired by the Craiglang favourites captured the attention of birdwatchers and the public with regular updates being shared on social media - with a series of cameras around the University campus capturing the action. This week Jack and Victor were all set to spread their wings with a series of attempts to spread their wings. But whilst Victor attempted his first fledgling concerns began to grow over Jack. The project shared a series of worrying updates earlier in the week. On Wednesday morning they shared that Jack was "seriously unwell". A rescue mission was launched that day which involved a member wincing themselves to a lower ledge on the tower. Jack was taken into the care of the Scottish SPCA but after assessing him he was deemed likely to have contracted bird flu. Vets were forced to put him down to "ease his suffering". In a statement. Glasgow Peregrine Project said: "It is with sadness that we must report that after pulling out all the stops and effecting a rescue, Jack has passed away. "The UoG and all the Project team have monitored him through the night and worked throughout the day to put the rescue plan in place. Work that would ordinarily be done in a month was done in a day to expedite Jack's care. "The SSPCA assessed Jack and deemed that he had likely contracted Bird Flu and sadly, had to put him down to ease his suffering. A video was posted showing the daring rescue with a member of the project hanging over the hedge of the tower and being carefully lowered down. He was spotted wearing full protective gear and a mask. The project say the rest of the birds will be "closely monitored". They added: "Given this circumstance, we will continue round the clock monitoring of the entire family. Your sightings and any significant observations would be greatly appreciated." Tributes poured in for Jack with well-wishers taking to the Facebook post to express their condolences. Poor Jack, I was so hoping he would be okay. But wonderful what you have managed to do, so quickly and effectively." Elaine Elizabeth said: "Oh that is so so sad. Thank you for caring & making sure he didn't suffer any more. RIP Jack." Yung Locarno said he could hear mum Bonnie giving out "distress cries" after Jack was taken away. He posted: "Very sad news about Jack. Saw him this morning on the ledge and he was clearly struggling, and suffering. "Was in the West quad for an hour or so this evening (after Jack was taken away) and Mum, Dad and Victor were all high up on the spire. Parents were trying to encourage Victor to fly, which he did eventually - a small circle round, high above the quad then back to the spire. "They all seem fine as far as I could tell, Mum was giving out a lot of distress cries after Jack was taken away - which is normal I would expect. Here's hoping they are all well and remain so." The Scottish SPCA said; "The Scottish SPCA was contacted by the project team with concerns about the falcon's health. Following a thorough assessment and consultation with our experts at the National Wildlife Rescue Centre, it was determined that, to prevent further suffering, the only humane option was to carry out euthanasia. "This decision was not taken lightly and was made in the best interest of the bird's welfare."

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley speaks about his grief after father 'died on the spot'
ITV star Richard Madeley recalled the difficult time in his life. Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid were back on screens presenting Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning. The pair were delivering the headlines and news updates to ITV viewers at home. During the morning programme they were also joined by Emmerdale's Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle, where they had a heartfelt conversation. Lisa spoke about her character Mandy's current storylines but also touched on her personal battles with loss, mentioning the passing of both her mother and her former Strictly Come Dancing partner Robin Windsor. The conversation sparked Richard to share his own heartbreaking memory of his dad's sudden death back in 1977. He sadly passed away just days after he married first wife, Lynda Hooley. Richard looked back at that time in his life and said: "I remember when my father died. He died on the spot, had a heart attack when he was 49. Huge shock. I was a breakfast producer then, a radio producer." He then recalled the difficult period following his father's death: "I remember I had a week off to come to terms with it. After the funeral, I went in, and the guy that I worked with didn't say a word. He didn't say, 'how are you, or what happened', he obviously felt it was best not to talk about it." He continued, expressing understanding yet disagreement with his colleague's reaction: "I don't blame him for that. He couldn't have been more wrong. You want people to come up to you and talk to you. You need that trigger to talk." Previously, Richard opened up on the negative impact of smoking on his family, stating on the Dr Hilary Show podcast: "I think what gave my grandfather, uncle and father their heart attacks, and the one that killed my father, as I said they were heavy smokers." He disclosed a shocking detail about his dad: "My dad, at one stage, was on two packs a day and he died at 49." Elsewhere on the programme Richard Arnold joined the panel to offer the latest scoops in showbiz and television. During his segment, Richard paid homage to the legendary musician Brian Wilson following the announcement of his passing on Wednesday, June 11. Brian was a founding member of the iconic Beach Boys. The lead singer and co-founder of the band died at the age of 82, with his cause of death yet to be disclosed. "A real pop pioneer. He co-founded one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, the Beach Boys, rivalling The Beatles," Richard shared with his audience. He also reminisced about his own discovery of the Beach Boys back in the 1970s, admitting he played their records "constantly" and was "very much a Beach Boys fan". TV legend's very different life after ditching fame and launching new career
Dominic Wood was one half of the iconic children's TV duo Dick and Dom, who dominated the CBBC schedule with their unique brand of humour and chaos Nostalgia alert for those who recall the chaotic Saturday mornings shouting "Bogies!" and getting stuck into "creamy muck muck" – Dick and Dom in da Bungalow was a weekend staple for an entire generation. The dynamic duo, Dick and Dom, were kings of children's TV on CBBC with their wacky and often outrageous humour that involved copious amounts of custard, slime, and all things messy. Fast forward nearly 15 years since their heyday on children's television, and Dominic Wood - the titular Dom - is now captivating a legion of grown-up fans with something quite unexpected. Dom has swapped the madcap antics of the bungalow for the world of DIY, amassing thousands of followers with his savvy home improvement tips and transformations. For a period, Dom and his comedic other half, Richard 'Dick' McCourt, were the faces of children's entertainment, their distinctive brand of fun winning over legions of young viewers and even earning them a couple of BAFTAs for the trophy cabinet, reports the Daily Record. However, when their iconic show wrapped up in 2006, many were left wondering what the future held for the beloved pair. Post-bungalow life saw them quickly secure a spot on BBC Radio 1's Sunday morning lineup, but this gig lasted only about a year before a station shake-up saw Nick Grimshaw take over their slot. The pair also enjoyed a spell on Virgin Radio UK's weekend afternoon schedule. Following the triumph of In Da Bungalow, the duo were given the go-ahead to develop several other unique concepts including The Legend of Dick and Dom, Dick and Dom's Funny Business, as well as presenting the Total Wipeout show Splatalot! They have since toured the country with their Live Dick vs Dom. As many of their original fans matured, they evolved alongside them, beginning to tour universities and student unions across the UK, playing everything from the latest chart hits to old-school classics and dance anthems. Away from the limelight and cameras, Dom has been quietly perfecting his interior design and DIY skills, sharing videos on his social media and amassing 270,000 followers on TikTok and over 220,000 on Instagram. The focus is on the 1930s house he and his wife purchased in Surrey. However, just as they moved in, the pandemic hit and with no builders or decorators available to assist, Dom started working on the house himself, redoing the staircase, fitting radiators, grouting a bathroom and revamping the garden.
