Wearing Jalur Gemilang Badge Effective In Enhancing Spirit Of Love For Country
Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said this would be a solid foundation in educating loyal, caring, and proud citizens towards a national identity.
"I feel very proud to see these children wearing the Jalur Gemilang badge with enthusiasm and confidence, We want to raise a generation that always loves, cares, and wants to fight for the country.
"This country belongs to all of us The spirit of togetherness is what needs to be continuously nurtured for a brighter future for Negeri Sembilan and Malaysia," he told reporters at the Aidilfitri Celebrations, organised by the Seremban City Council (MBS) today.
Aminuddin said that by emphasising the symbol or badge of the Jalur Gemilang, the spirit of camaraderie among students can be strengthened, carrying through to their adulthood.
Meanwhile, in Kelantan, schools that are not under the purview of the Ministry of Education (MOE), including those under the Kelantan Islamic Foundation (YIK), are encouraged to implement the wearing of the Jalur Gemilang badge among their students.
State Education Department (JPN) deputy director (School Management Sector) Mat Lazim Mohammad said the department is open to the participation of YIK schools or any other educational institutions interested in implementing this initiative.
"However, its implementation must adhere to the standards or guidelines set in the MOE Circular Letter," he told reporters at the Symbolic Ceremony of the Jalur Gemilang Badge Wearing for Educational Institutions under the MOE at the Kelantan level in Kota Bharu today.
Commenting further, Mat Lazim said that among the procedures for wearing the badge that must be followed are wearing it on the right side of the uniform; aligned with the name tag; wearing it in a neat, clean, and undamaged condition; and it should not be used on inappropriate clothing or arbitrarily.

Perak MB: Malaysians' duty to respect Jalur Gemilang
IPOH: Every Malaysian who understands the meaning of a sovereign and independent country has a duty to respect the Jalur Gemilang flag, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said. Respecting the Jalur Gemilang flag is not a question of race, skin colour, religion or party affiliation, he added. "When we fly the Jalur Gemilang, let's do it properly and with respect, not upside down, don't let it get worn or torn. "If it's put up wrongly, let's correct it together, if there are those who don't understand, let's explain. This is how we show we understand and care," he said during his speech at the Perak-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Flag 2025 campaign here yesterday. He said respecting the Jalur Gemilang flag showed respect for the country as the flag represented the country and stood for its dignity, history and the future of all Malaysians. "Every time it (the Jalur Gemilang flag) flies high, let us cheer with our spirit, and remind ourselves that we are united under one flag, we fight under one banner, and we bear this flag as we continue to blaze ahead to build our future," he added. Saarani reminded the public that all Malaysians need to commemorate the National Day celebrations as a way to live their lives in peace, unity and to build a country with all their strength and capabilities. "Don't let our independence be just a date on the calendar, let it live in our every heartbeat. As we enjoy the gifts of peace, let us be truly grateful and thankful," he added. There were various activities held during the launch since the afternoon, including exhibitions, a Rahmah Sale, a children's costume contest as well as booths offering services from various agencies, along with performances by local artistes, including Zamani Siam. – BERNAMA

PM warns those who create disharmony
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasised that firm action will be taken against any party that raises issues affecting national harmony. He said there were various negative issues recently involving sovereignty, religion, culture, health, bullying and student deaths. He added that there must be a united stance among the authorities and the public to acknowledge that such matters could damage the country. 'This cannot be resolved merely through policy announcements or enforcement. There must be public awareness that a country with a vibrant economy cannot survive if its foundation of values and culture is crumbling. 'That's why in a Madani nation, apart from emphasising vibrant and dynamic growth, the cornerstone must be values. 'Are we to take pride only in the amount of investments and economic momentum, in a thriving stock exchange, but ignore societal culture, morals and values?' He was speaking at the 20th Premier Civil Service Address, with the theme 'Madani Public Service: Pillar of Excellence', held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre yesterday. Present were Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar as well Cuepacs president Datuk Adnan Mat. 'Extreme behaviour, arrogance, rudeness, the act of belittling others, whether based on race, ethnicity, skin colour or any such attitudes, must be stopped.' Referring to recent incidents such as the death of religious school student Zara Qairina Mahathir and the controversy over the Jalur Gemilang, Anwar said these have all been politicised as a tool for condemnation and criticism. He said many people are quick to judge recent incidents without verifying the facts first. 'Enough is enough. The time for warnings is over. People are tired of me giving the same warnings. 'Therefore, today, it's no longer a warning, I am stressing that firm action must be taken.' Anwar further reminded that Malaysia is known for its peace and strong inter-ethnic relations, and the country has even managed to mediate in recent regional conflicts such as the one between Thailand and Cambodia. He added that anyone in authority who fails to uphold his responsibilities in safeguarding the nation's peace should be replaced with individuals who are principled and courageous enough to act. 'This is not about gaining popularity or appealing to the public. This is about saving the nation.' Without directly referring to the bloody May 13 racial riots, Anwar reminded the public that Malaysia had gone through dark periods of internal strife. 'And this time it might start small, with issues like the flag and the spread of fake news.' Anwar also urged the public not to make wild speculations about Zara Qairina's death. 'Let the authorities conduct the investigation. It's barely begun and already fingers are being pointed, linking it to VVIPs. 'We might as well close down all police stations if people can jump to conclusions without an investigation.'
