Perak PMR 2025: 183, Including Two PwDs, Secure Employment
LUMUT, June 15 (Bernama) -- Two persons with disabilities (PwDs) were among 183 applicants who successfully secured jobs after passing interview sessions held during the MYFutureJobs Career Carnival at the Perak MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 at Lumut Waterfront, here.
Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) Teluk Intan branch manager S. Mageswari said that the PMR 2025 programme offered approximately 1,793 job opportunities across various fields and employment sectors nationwide.
'Over the past two days, and including today, the third day, the response has been very encouraging, with many job seekers attending the interview sessions. For Perak PMR 2025, we have engaged 14 employers who are offering job placements,' she said.
'As of Friday and Saturday, a total of 318 candidates attended interview sessions, with 183 successfully securing jobs. Another 43 candidates are awaiting second interviews, which will be conducted at the respective employers' premises,' she said when met here today.
She added that among the top five employers offering the highest number of vacancies are Malayan Flour Mills Sdn Bhd, Malakoff Corporation Berhad, YTY Industry Sdn Bhd, Lagenda Properties Berhad, and KPJ Seri Manjung Specialist Hospital.
'On the third day today, we are offering various job categories, including positions in the operations sector, manufacturing industry, professional roles, and service fields, particularly in delivery,' she said.
Mageswari added that the categories of job applicants have also been expanded beyond just graduates and career switchers, to include PwDs and individuals aged 50 and above.
'In fact, through MYFutureJobs, we have implemented initiatives nationwide. Many have participated, and we've brought programmes into rural and remote areas.
'Therefore, we encourage the public to come forward and seize this opportunity. Now, it is up to them to secure the jobs being offered,' he said.

Perak PMR 2025 Draws Over 200,000 Visitors
GENERAL LUMUT, June 15 (Bernama) -- The Perak edition of the MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025, held at the Lumut Waterfront, concluded today, drawing over 200,000 visitors throughout the three-day event. Led by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), the programme which carried the 'Pendidikan Tinggi Pemacu Negara MADANI' theme, surpassed its initial target of 100,000 visitors. In a statement, MOHE said the Perak PMR 2025 met its primary objective of bringing government initiatives and services closer to the people, in line with efforts to strengthen an inclusive, competitive, and high-impact higher education ecosystem. MOHE stated that the highlights of the programme included 230 public touchpoint services, the MADANI sales involving eight entrepreneurs, a career carnival featuring 12 employers, 75 on-stage engagement sessions, 16 satellite programmes and mobile services provided by eight agencies. It said MOHE also offered free basic motorcycle servicing, mangrove seedling planting, free health screenings, as well as initiatives such as a beach clean-up activity involving international students. A variety of interactive and engaging activities were also conducted to enliven the event, including an exhibition by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), which offered visitors the chance to cruise the waters of Lumut aboard the agency's Sealegs amphibious boat. This edition of PMR was also enlivened by the 'Battle Taranum Live' event, which involved students from the Darul Quran under the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). Visitors also took the opportunity to check the accuracy of their Al-Fatihah recitation at JAKIM's booth. Ramping up the excitement was the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), which performed a silent drill. The RMN band also captivated visitors with their performance at Dataran Lumut Waterfront on Saturday and Sunday. LUMUT, June 15 (Bernama) -- From its usual quiet charm, Lumut Waterfront turned vibrant as visitors flocked to the three-day Perak MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025, which kicked off on Friday. Trader Mohd Faizal Che Tan, 50, said the Perak PMR 2025, which concluded today, had given a welcome boost to local tourism, drawing visitors to the coastal town famed for its 'ikan bilis mata biru' (blue-eyed anchovies). 'It's a good programme, as it has helped revive tourism here. This place is famous for blue-eyed anchovies, so something like this really helps bring people in. 'I just hope that after this, more local and foreign tourists will keep visiting Lumut and bring back the buzz,' he said when met here today. Afif Isyraf Izuwan Shah, 20, who works at a nearby seafood outlet, said many Perak PMR 2025 visitors would drop by to purchase anchovies, salted fish and other local seafood products. 'Alhamdulillah, since the event started, I've had more customers, including people from outside. A lot of them are from ministries and government agencies, and that's really helped boost my sales. 'This programme has also indirectly given us seafood traders a platform to promote local products like fish crackers, fish satay and sambal ikan bilis,' he said. Held at Lumut Waterfront, the Perak PMR 2025 brought together over 200 services from various ministries and government agencies, attracting over 200,000 visitors to 36 booths throughout the three-day event. Perak is the second location to host the large-scale PMR initiative, a result of strategic collaboration between the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) of the Prime Minister's Department, which serves as the main secretariat, and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), as the lead ministry.
