The body was found on Friday near Ban Tha Yai pier in Phang Nga's Mueang district.
Police Lieutenant Pheerawit Chaichanyut of Khok Kloi Police Station said officers rushed to the scene with Kusoltham Foundation rescue workers after receiving an emergency call.
The victim – whose identity, address, and nationality are still unknown – was wearing grey shorts and a brown round-neck T-shirt.
Police believe she had been dead for around two days before being found in the murky waters.
A heavy chain had been wrapped tightly around her neck and secured to two concrete dumbbells in what investigators believe was a calculated attempt to keep the body hidden on the seabed.
But despite the grim effort, currents carried her to the surface and she drifted close to land.
"This is a serious case, and we are treating it as a possible murder," Pol. Lt. Pheerawit said.
"The way the body was weighted down points towards an attempt to conceal it."
The body has been sent for a full autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether the woman was alive before entering the water.
Local leaders and neighbouring districts have been told to check missing persons reports for anyone matching her description.
Cops will meanwhile scour CCTV from the pier and surrounding waterways for suspicious movements in the days before the grim find.
Anyone with information – particularly those who may have noticed unusual activity near Ban Tha Yai pier – is urged to contact police immediately.
The case echoes a similar discovery in February when a fisherman in Rayong found a woman's decomposed body inside a locked suitcase weighted with two 10kg dumbbells.
Her identity also remains unknown.

Brazen thief who stuffed £650 of Jellycats down TROUSERS avoids jail… after moaning about online abuse from viral clip

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A BRAZEN thief who was filmed stuffing a £650 Jellycat haul down her trousers has avoided jail after moaning about online abuse because the clip went viral. Samantha Lawrence stuffed a "significant amount" of the trendy plushies from St Peter's Garden Centre, Worcester, into her trousers and bags. As she snatched the toys - worth £655 - she put them in shopping bags and crammed them down her trousers. The next day she struck The Valley shopping centre in Evesham, where she pinched Jellycats worth £121. She later returned to the same shopping centre where she stole a further £170 worth of the toys. The court heard that the footage of Lawrence's Jellycat-snatching went viral online which caused her "mental health to suffer". Chris Aggri, defending, said she was on a cocktail of medication for her anxiety. He added: "She has been targeted on social media and her mental health has suffered as a result. "She has learned her lesson and is deeply remorseful." Lawrence was recognised by the CCTV and police swooped on her home in Norton, Evesham, where officers found hundreds of stolen Jellycats. She admitted three counts of theft when she appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Friday. 'B----, I'LL KILL YOU' Chilling rise of Jellycat gangs - how toys sparked crimewave where KIDS are used as cover & scammers terrorise families Prosecutor Lauren Millichip told the court Lawrence had stolen Jellycats worth a total of £948.28. She said: "Officers attended her address and found a quantity of Jellycats, some of these she said she had bought. "She told officers she had gone into the stores with the intention of stealing the Jellycats." Lawrence was ordered to pay compensation to the shops she stole from and fined £120 with a £48 victim surcharge. Chair of the bench, Caroline Taylor, said: "We've listened to what's been said. "The matters are serious, you have deliberately targeted the stores, one on two separate occasions. "They are not insignificant amounts of money. "You will pay compensation of £657.79 to St Peter's and £292.49 to The Valley. "We've taken into account your guilty plea, so a fine of £180 has been reduced to £120 due to that guilty plea. "You will also pay a £48 victim surcharge." The court heard Lawrence was already working with the probation service and magistrates said they expected this to continue. Speaking at the time of the thefts, William Blake, managing director of St Peter's Garden Centre, said: "We were deeply disappointed by the incident, where a significant amount of stock was stolen from our store. "As an independent, family-run business, every loss impacts not just our shelves but the hard-working team behind the scenes. "Our staff work tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors, and it's disheartening when that is taken advantage of." Jellycats are uniquely shaped soft toys that are hugely popular right now, thanks to their quirky designs and super-soft material. Over the past year, the brand has experienced significant growth in popularity. As a result, there has been a major toy-snatching crime wave sweeping the UK - and fakes cropping up left right and centre. In April, The Gorge Bear Company in Cheddar, Somerset, was brutally ram-raided by at least two thieves. They stole £20,000 worth of Jellycat soft toys in a bizarre night-time raid. This comes amid fears that organised groups of shoplifters are targeting Jellycat soft toys in order to resell them online for as much as £2,400. And when Labubu toys also went viral, criminals began to target them too. Toy owners have reported their keyrings being taken from their bags as they walk, and even their car windows being smashed in so thieves can get access to the plushies. 6 Shops have been targeted by thieves wanting to steal the fluffy stock Credit: Jam Press/Gorge Bear Company 6 Over the past year, the brand has experienced significant growth in popularity Credit: Getty

Athena Georgopoulos, 39, was killed alongside her 50-year-old partner Andrew Gunn as cops found chilling graffiti scrawled outside their property. 8 Athena Georgopoulos, who was five months pregnant, and Andrew Gunn, pictured Credit: Supplied 8 A homeless man was arrested and charged with two counts of murder Credit: 9News 8 Neighbours told of the horror of finding Athena's corpse and her decapitated husband Credit: Facebook The neighbour who made the harrowing discovery, Ben Scott-Sandvik, told the Herald Sun: "I mean, no one should have to come across what I saw down there." He added: "And nobody needs to live knowing that this sort of thing has happened to their families.' Ross Judd, a 34-year-old homeless man, was arrested at Westall train station in Melbourne, Australia and charged with two counts of murder. Cops dramatically swarmed the property the couple were in on Monday night after a neighbour heard screams and alerted police. Several homes were still cordoned off on Adrienne Crescent in Mount Waverley on Wednesday as neighbours described their 'shock' at what had happened. One neighbour called Dimmi who knew Athena's mum well but didn't know the victim was living just a few doors down said she was devastated by the tragic news. She said: 'I didn't even know she lives there. I'm Greek too, so I was so close to her mother, but didn't see her for about 10 months. 'I've been here for 25 years, I walk along this street all the time but never saw her. She added: 'I'm going to ring her mum, I'm in shock now. I don't know much about the girl who passed away, but I knew her when she was young. They used to come to my house all the time. 'She was a lovely girl. A very nice girl. I'm so, so sad.' Doctor is 'beaten to death with frying pan & set on fire in $2.6m mansion after discovering husband's disturbing secret' Another neighbour named Mary said she had also never seen Athena - despite living several doors up the road. She revealed: 'Everybody is shocked here. It's amazing that it's just happened so close. "I've spoken to others in the street and they said they didn't hear anything.' Neighbours also received letters from local cops informing them of the harrowing ordeal. Suspected killer Judd appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Grim footage of his arrest reportedly showed the suspect dressed in a blood-stained white T-shirt while being gripped by an officer. The man appears on his knees before he is pulled to his feet on the station platform as another officer points at the ground. Police allege the accused murderer was known to the couple, and that one of the victims lived in the unit. He was heard in court reportedly saying: "I beg your pardon, yeah I'm all good." An alleged motive for remains unclear - but it has been speculated the case may be drug-related. 8 Chilling graffiti was found outside the property Credit: 7news 8 Neighbours said they were devastated Athena's death Credit: Facebook 8 The homeless man was arrested at Westall train station in Melbourne, Australia Credit: 9News Chilling graffiti sprayed across the couple's home read: 'Karma is not a menu.' Vegan slogans like 'meat is murder' were also plastered across the property wall, alongside haunting words like 'betrayal", "unpredictable" and "inevitable'. The messy graffiti, which was sprayed in luminous yellow, green and black paint also included derogatory and aggressive phrases like "U R Gay" and "Enough is Enough". A police spokesperson said: 'Police are aware of graffiti on the property in Mount Waverley where the bodies of two people were located last night. 'Homicide Squad detectives will work to determine if the graffiti is relevant to the murder investigation.' Local inspector Dean Thomas said the arrested man was known to the pair. He said on Tuesday morning: "We believe that there is a link between our suspect and the address." The officer added: "Police were called at about 9.20pm in relation to a welfare check at the address based on some yelling that was heard from the property. 'A second call was then made that suggested it was perhaps more urgent than what the first call was and police arrived minutes later, and obviously they found the male and female inside the premises deceased. 'We believe he [the suspect] may be of no fixed place of abode. 'It appears to be targeted and our suspect is known to the address.' Athena was five months pregnant when she died and was in a relationship with Andrew before they were allegedly murdered. Athena's aunt Patty Dilveridis told the Herald Sun her niece never thought she would be a mum. 'She was so looking forward to having a baby, because she was 39 [and] she never thought she could have one,' she said. Meanwhile, her mum Petty, who was being looked after by Athena, was left "devastated". 8 Cops swarmed the property on Monday night after neighbours reported hearing loud screams Credit: Facebook

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched six engines and one height appliance. Fortunately, no one has been hurt by the blaze. But the SFRS has warned residents about the dangers of smoke inhilation. Locals have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed. The hotel on Queensferry Road has been abandoned for more than 20 years. The dilapidated building has previously been a target of anti-social behaviour. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: 'We were alerted at 3.07am on Wednesday, 13 August, to reports of a building on fire at Queensferry Road, Dunfermline. 'Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances, one height vehicle and specialist resources to the scene where firefighters are working to extinguish a fire affecting a derelict building. 'There are no reported casualties at this time and crews remain at the scene.' Moment Scots park goes up in flames as cops hunt for four suspects Last month, Lib Dems councillor for Dunfermline South, James Calder, voiced concerns over the hotel site. Today, he said: 'A fire at the former King Malcolm Hotel is the last thing the local community here in Pitcorthie needs, but sadly I am not surprised. "Over the past few years I have been inundated with calls about antisocial behaviour at the site, and it is not acceptable that local residents have to deal with this type of atrocious behaviour. "I have been in regular contact with Police Scotland about these issues and while they have been engaging with the site owners, it remains a challenge. "I would like to thank the emergency services for their prompt action today and will wait to see what they say about the cause of this latest incident."
