Delhi Police Suspends Eight Personnel Over Negligence in Janmashtami Security Arrangements
Delhi Police suspended eight officers for negligence in Janmashtami security at ISKCON Temple. Earlier, 7 officers were suspended for missing a dummy bomb at Red Fort.
Delhi Police on Saturday suspended eight policemen on charges of negligence in the security arrangements for the Janmashtami festival in the Outer North district, one of Delhi's eleven administrative districts, officials said.
According to officials, Delhi's new Police Commissioner, SBK Singh, was on a visit to inspect the security arrangements near the Outer North district's ISKCON Temple, where he found some policemen absent from their duties and chaos in the security.
'Police Commissioner S. B. K. Singh had gone to inspect the ISKCON Temple located in the Outer North district. On the spot, he found chaos in the security, and some policemen were missing from duty, after which eight policemen, including Shahbad Dairy police station inspector, have been suspended," said officials.
More details are awaited.
Earlier, on August 5, seven Delhi Police personnel, including constables and head constables, were suspended as a dummy bomb went undetected in the Red Fort during a security drill, Delhi police said.
According to Delhi Police, 'seven police personnel, including constables and head constables, deployed for the security of the Red Fort, have been suspended 'due to negligence' in security."
'A team of the Special Cell conducted a drill on Saturday (August 2) in which they entered the Red Fort premises in civil dress with a dummy bomb. At that time, the policemen deployed for the security of the Red Fort could not trace the bomb, due to which they were suspended," the police added.

Teen found dead, cops suspect murder over affair
Indore: A 17-year-old class 11 student was found dead in bushes at Hubli village in Chandravatiganj area of Indore on Sunday morning, with several injury marks on his body, giving rise to suspicion of murder over love affair. Police sent the body of the teenager, Vishal, to Sanwer hospital for a postmortem examination and began an investigation based on suspicion of a love affair or illicit relationship. Additional SP (rural) Rupesh Dwivedi told TOI, "It's a case of murder. The victim had many wounds that appeared to be from a sharp-edged weapon. His mobile phone is also missing from the scene. The police are investigating the case based on initial inputs." Vishal had gone to a Janmashtami event with his friends on Saturday night. He told his family that he would sleep at cowshed after returning home. However, when his father went to wake him up in the morning, he was not there. His parents then began searching for him and found his body in the bushes a short distance from the cowshed, police said. JMC-G seizes meat worth 6 lakh at Jaipur airport
1 2 Jaipur: On Janmashtami, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater's (JMC-G) animal management branch carried out a major operation at Jaipur airport and seized 749kg of illegal goat meat that was being sent to Bengaluru Saturday. The seized meat, packed in 19 cartons, is estimated to be worth around Rs 6 lakh. Rakesh Kaloria, in-charge officer of the animal management branch of JMC-G, said he received a tip-off that around 5.30pm a large consignment of banned goat meat would be transported from the airport. Acting swiftly, his team reached the spot and found several cartons of meat. By the time they arrived, some boxes already passed through scanning, but after discussions with the airport authorities, those boxes were also retrieved, he said. During the operation, private security guards at the airport allegedly misbehaved with the municipal team, leading to a heated argument between Kaloria and one of the guards. Despite the disturbance, the team took the seized meat to the dumping yard where it was destroyed using chemical methods. Kaloria said, "To transport any kind of meat, paperwork is required, including fitness checks and details of the source. These people had no such documents, yet the meat entered the airport premises.
