'Sturdy' sit-stand desk that 'makes such a difference' for home working now £50 off
Since Covid hit over five years ago, working from home has been a staple part of many of our lifestyles. But as more and more of us work from laptops in our studies or living rooms, it's becoming increasingly important to invest in good-quality equipment to prevent muscle strains or sore backs.
One revolutionary investment for home workers who find it difficult to sit down for eight hours a day is an adjustable desk that allows users to both sit down or stand up while working.
And those in the market for one are in luck, as the top-rated ErGear Electric Standing Desk is currently £50 off on Amazon for Prime members only. Usually costing £189.99, the desk is currently available on a 26 per cent discount for Prime members, slashing its price to £139.98.
The adjustable desk features a smooth electric lifting system allowing home workers to change position throughout the day and avoid any discomfort from staying in the same position for too long. The LED control panel also allows workers to change position at the touch of a button, without disrupting their busy working day.
Measuring 160cm by 80cm, the spacious desktop offers ample room for any home worker's computer and essentials. Thoughtfully designed with two cable grommets and two hooks, it keeps the workspace organised and clutter-free.

Its product description describes the adjustable desk as 'the perfect companion for enhancing home, office, or any workspace', and claims it can be easily built by one person. As well as being spacious, the desk is designed to hold up to 80KG, and is guaranteed to last years.
And while operating with electricity, the desk promises to work smoothly, efficiently and almost silently, with an 'ultra-quiet noise level' of less than 55db.
Those browsing other standing desks may opt for the ProperAV Two-Tier Stand-Up Desk Workstation, which is designed to sit on top of a normal desk to allow stand-up working. It's available on Argos for £130. Or, the Koble Gino Height Adjustable Office Desk is also available on Argos for £269.
But the discounted ErGear Electric Standing Desk on Amazon has raked in some glowing reviews, scoring an overall rating of 4.6 stars out of five from almost 1,000 reviews.
One happy shopper said: "This is one of the best office purchases I've made. Really great value for money in a good choice of colours and dimensions.
"The electronic pre-set function allows up to 4 height settings and you can also adjust with the up and down arrows for any height in between. I've got my laptop, keyboard, mouse, extra large monitor, stationery and files and it is sturdy. Does not wobble at all.
"Feels like really good quality materials. Was easy to assemble as well with two of us. Has made such a difference to my comfort levels working from home up to 9 hours a day."
Yet a less pleased home worker said: "Very flimsy and not good quality at all. Screws don't work properly and not steady after building. Swaying lots."
But another satisfied customer shared: "Easy to construct and looks good. Size is perfect for the space and it seems to be reasonably sturdy. Smooth operation and can put the height to suit me perfectly."
And someone else agreed, adding: "Only had it for a few hours but already extremely impressed. Feels very sturdy, looks good, functions well and the instructions were very clear. The adjustable height setting works great."
The discounted adjustable sit/stand desk is available on Amazon.

The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 has just fallen to £1,399 on Amazon – its lowest price since launch, according to price-tracking site CamelCamelCamel – and, as far as we can see, cheaper than anywhere else right now. Discounts this deep on Samsung's flagship 2-in-1 are rare, and with stock moving quickly, there's no guarantee it'll stay at this level for long. That 18% saving on the £1,699 RRP gets you one of the most capable Windows 11 laptops in Samsung's line-up. At its core is Intel's latest Core Ultra 7 processor, complete with built-in AI acceleration, paired with 16GB of memory and a fast 512GB SSD. It's a configuration built for serious productivity, creative workloads, smooth multitasking and AI-driven applications. Integrated Intel Arc graphics deliver a noticeable bump in visual performance compared to older integrated chipsets, making it a solid choice for design, light video work and casual creative tasks without draining the battery. The display is a real highlight: a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with a sharp 3K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling and animation, and reduced glare thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass DX. As a Pro 360 model, the hinge allows the screen to fold completely back into tablet mode, and Samsung includes the S Pen in the box – ready for handwriting, sketching, annotating or editing straight away. Connectivity is right up to date with Wi-Fi 7 for faster and more stable wireless speeds, alongside a well-chosen range of physical ports to keep adapters to a minimum. The adaptive palm rejection touchpad has been singled out in reviews as one of the best in its class, offering accurate, frustration-free navigation. Battery life is where this machine really stands out. Samsung claims up to 25 hours of video playback from its 76Wh battery, and independent testing has shown it's capable of lasting a full working day and more in real-world use. Fast charging takes it to around a third capacity in just 30 minutes, which is ideal if you need to top up between meetings or while travelling. Buy the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 for £1,399 at Amazon Reviewers have been consistently positive, with PCWorld describing it as a 'great machine for productivity and day-to-day desktop use' thanks to its balance of performance, build quality, display and exceptional stamina. While Intel's Lunar Lake chips can't match AMD's fastest processors for raw multithreaded power, they're far more efficient, keeping the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 cool, quiet and comfortable to use anywhere. It's not often a laptop of this calibre, with this display, battery life and versatility, sees such a substantial price drop – and once this deal ends, it may be a long time before we see it again. Oura smart rings have grown in popularity over recent years, with Hollywood stars like Gwyneth Paltrow being enthusiasts. The actress-turned-wellness guru often appears on Oura's Instagram page, demonstrating how she pairs her ring with daily attire. Currently, potential buyers can snag a deal on the Oura Gen3 Horizon Smart Ring at Amazon. Typically priced at £349, it is now on offer for £244.38, providing shoppers with a saving of £104.62. The health-tracking ring comes with a seven-day battery life and is compatible with both iOS and Android. Beauty box full of 'lovely products' sees shoppers bag £97 moisturiser for £15 Dunelm's plug-in wall lights with near-perfect rating are 'easy to install' The ring enables users to monitor sleep, activity, stress levels, heart rate, and even provides an accurate pulse reading. It can also generate personalised health data and can sync with more than 40 apps, including Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Natural Cycles, Flo, Strava, and others. The Oura Gen3 Horizon Smart Ring is available in gold, with eight different sizes to select from. Other colour options are available, albeit at varying price points, reports the Express. While fitness rings aren't as widely available as watches, there are alternatives on the market, such as Samsung's Galaxy Ring (£399). Samsung's latest AI-infused health ring is designed to be water-resistant for wear throughout the day and boasts a battery life that can last up to an impressive seven days. It comes equipped with three sensors that keep tabs on your health 24/7. For those who prefer the convenience of a watch, Argos offers the Fitbit Sense 2 Smart Watch at £169.99, which not only tracks movement and heart rate but also helps detect stress levels and provides tools to manage them. Turning our attention to the Oura Gen3 Horizon Smart Ring, one satisfied Amazon customer shared: "Really pleased with the product. It does exactly what I need, tracks all my activities. Looks smart." Another shopper highlighted both positives and negatives, pointing out an issue with sizing: "Definitely ensure you get the size first, as I have had to swap fingers due to size issues. I love the quality of the ring and the functional data it provides me so easily. We are going through a house renovation, so it gets battered but seems to be incredibly durable." A third user remarked on the convenience of the device: "A very easy way to keep track of your exercise and sleep patterns. I have sleep apnea, and trying different positions when you go to bed can help reduce breathing interruptions and oxygen levels in your blood at night. Worth every penny." Someone else chimed in: "Gives a lot of health information. I've been learning and understanding how my lifestyle choices affect my body. A good battery needs to be charged just once a week. Goes with every look, from the gym to the party and swimming. I never need to take mine off."
