SATS opens new facility capable of handling twice the amount of air cargo daily

Singapore will be able to handle up to twice the amount of air cargo daily, and at greater efficiency. This is as ground handling firm SATS opens a new facility that reduces processing time for ready-to-ship packages by 20 per cent. This first-of-its-kind facility aims to support rising cargo volumes through to the mid-2030s when the new Terminal 5 opens. John Tan, Lead Professional Officer of the Aviation Management degree programme at SIT, tells us more on how this facility will help Singapore's aviation sector and boost Singapore's competitiveness in global trade and logistics.
