Safari wukuf to assist 80 ill Malaysian pilgrims to perform wukuf
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said that eight special buses, with seats converted into beds, will be used to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims throughout the journey to Arafah.
'A total of 195 welfare and medical workers have been mobilised since midnight last night, to comfort and assist the pilgrims once they arrive at Arafah,' he told media personnel after witnessing the departure of the haj pilgrims to Arafah, here, today.
At the same time, Mohd Na'im said that 385 Sahabat Maktab, who are volunteers among the pilgrims from 11 maktabs, have also been mobilised to support and ensure the smooth execution of this year's Masya'ir operations.
'I would like to extend my deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to all Lembaga Tabung Haji staff and Sahabat Maktab volunteers, for their unwavering commitment in safeguarding the welfare and safety of our pilgrims,' he said.
He also urged all Malaysians to pray for the smooth execution of the entire Masya'ir operation, and for the continued protection and success of all Malaysian pilgrims in performing their haj pilgrimage.
The Saudi Arabian government has announced that the Wukuf Day falls on Thursday, the 9th day of Zulhijjah (June 5), followed by the celebration of Aidiladha on Friday, June 6.

For Azizulhasni, stepping into the shoes of a rapper for the music video was, to say the least, a bold step out of his comfort zone. 'Honestly, it was awkward at first,' he said of the video shoot. 'I've never danced or performed like that it's not my thing. But I embraced the challenge. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried my best to be as close as possible to a rapper. Alhamdulillah, the feedback was amazing and very positive," he added. Despite the nerves, Azizulhasni said the journey has been worth it. 'From the first moment with Aman RA, we just clicked. The chemistry was there on set and on stage. Even though we filmed for two full days, and then performed live, it never felt long, it was fun.' Would he do it again? His answer was quick: 'I never say no to new challenges. Just give me time to practice!' KLIA achieves global departure efficiency with airspace enhancements
KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur International Airport has achieved global standards in departure efficiency through significant airspace enhancements. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia confirmed this major milestone in Malaysia's air traffic management capabilities. CAAM successfully conducted Simultaneous Independent Parallel Departure Operations on KLIA's triple runway system. This achievement marks a new benchmark in operational excellence for the aviation authority. The operation allows aircraft to depart simultaneously and independently from all three parallel runways. This enables three take-offs at the same time without any sequencing delays. The procedure incorporates strict separation standards and advanced air traffic management systems. It ensures the highest levels of safety while significantly reducing delays. The system also optimises traffic flow and dramatically increases departure capacity. This initiative builds upon the earlier Simultaneous Independent Parallel Approach Operations Based on Flight Direction. That enhancement was introduced in October 2024 and revolutionized arrival procedures. Both enhancements streamline aircraft arrival and departure routes within the Kuala Lumpur Terminal Manoeuvring Area. This area serves as a critical hub for Malaysian and regional airspace operations. Performance data from May 2025 shows KLIA recorded an 86.54 per cent departure route efficiency. This slightly exceeds the global benchmark of 86.34 per cent for major international airports. Despite a 15 per cent increase in air traffic volume since October 2024, the airport achieved additional improvements. Arrival route efficiency saw a 1.34 per cent enhancement during the same period. CAAM chief executive officer Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud emphasized the significance of these advancements. These developments demonstrate CAAM's commitment to innovation, safety, and efficiency in Malaysian airspace management. By adopting international best practices and advanced procedures, Malaysia positions itself as a regional leader. Malaysia is establishing itself as a frontrunner in regional air traffic management excellence. CAAM will continue close collaboration with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and airline partners. This ensures that improvements in airspace operations translate to ground efficiency gains. The authority will maintain close monitoring of the initiative's performance and implementation. Medical insurance made fairer: Standard premiums for M40 under MHIT
KUALA LUMPUR: Premiums for the basic medical and health insurance/takaful product (MHIT) are set to be standardised, with a focus on affordability for the M40 income group. This is in line with government efforts to broaden access to private hospital care, according to Bank Negara Malaysia. The product, being developed jointly by Bank Negara and the Health Ministry, is expected to be launched in the second half of 2026. It will be offered as a standard plan providing essential coverage at a sustainable cost. The information was shared during the RESET media strategy workshop organised by Bank Negara and the ministry at Sasana Kijang here today. Bank Negara said the initiative is expected to act as a catalyst for restructuring the private health insurance market, while reducing public reliance on government hospitals, which are currently facing congestion and long waiting times. Currently, only around 22 per cent of Malaysians have health insurance, leaving the majority exposed to the risk of high medical expenses. Through the basic product, more individuals will be able to access minimum financial protection at an affordable rate. The MHIT basic plan aims to protect individuals from high healthcare costs while minimising out-of-pocket expenses. It also seeks to simplify the insurance and takaful market by offering a clearer, more straightforward coverage package. Premium pricing and benefit coverage will be determined based on verified treatment cost data. This includes the most common procedures and hospital cost comparisons, to ensure long-term sustainability. To maintain affordability, the MHIT basic plan's network will focus on mid-tier hospitals. Treatments at premium hospitals will be available through optional top-up plans open to competition among insurance and takaful providers. The MHIT basic plan will change the claims process by shifting payments from a fee-for-service system to a diagnosis-related group (DRG) system, which is payment based on diagnosis. The rollout will be conducted in phases to avoid disruption in the market. The DRG approach is expected to help control treatment cost inflation, as private hospitals will be incentivised to operate more efficiently to manage claim volumes by disease category. The new mechanism also supports the 'value-based healthcare' agenda, which is the direction of the national healthcare system. Emphasis is also placed on the role of general practitioners (GPs) as the primary entry point for treatment before patients are referred to private hospitals. This is to strengthen primary care and reduce the tendency of patients to directly seek specialist treatment. Authorities are also considering including coverage for preventive treatments that have been proven to reduce the risk of serious illness. They are also considering allowing coverage for pre-existing conditions under certain conditions such as waiting periods and symptom control. There is also a need to educate the public that the benefits of the basic product must be balanced with their ability to pay premiums. Hence, focus group sessions will be conducted to identify the most relevant coverage priorities. To protect policyholders' interests, insurance and takaful companies will be required to provide a Product Disclosure Sheet (PDS) outlining key benefits, projected long-term premium increases, and alternative options for consumers. In addition, a dedicated complaints mechanism will be established to resolve disputes between private hospitals and insurance operators. Policyholders who struggle with premium increases can seek advice and assistance through the Credit Counselling and Management Agency.
