New Delhi [India], June 4: Vivekananda Global University (VGU), a forward-looking multidisciplinary private university in Jaipur, was established by the Act of Rajasthan State Legislature (11/2012) and recognized under section 2f of the UGC Act 1956. Approved by UGC, Bar Council of India, Council of Architecture, and Pharmacy Council of India, VGU is a provisional member of the AIU. The university offers UG, PG, and doctorate programs across diverse fields, including Agriculture, Engineering, Computer Science, Architecture, Design, Basic & Applied Sciences, Management, Law, Humanities, Journalism, Hospitality, Medical Sciences, and Pharmacy. Additionally, VGU offers distance and online programs in disciplines.
The Promoters of VGU are professionals/bureaucrats and have setup more than a dozen institution during the last 40 years, these include Gramotthan Vidhya Peeth Nagaur, Swami Keshwanand Institute of Technology Jaipur, Marudhar Education Society BNR and Vivek Techno Schools at Jaipur, Bikaner & Naguar. VIT Campus Jaipur & finally the VGU Jaipur In all, they have established 12 educational institutions in the state of Rajasthan wherein about 10,000 students are pursuing education and more than the same number have graduated and are well placed. These Institutes have also created 120 + startups, some of which have a turnover of Rs.1 crore and above.
Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, IAS (Retd), former Chairman, RPSC is the Chairperson (Chancellor) of VGU. Dr. K Ram, IPS (Retd.), former Director General of Police, is the Chief Patron of the University and Dr. K R Bagaria, former member RPSC, is the Chief Executive of the University (Vice Chairperson). Dr. Onkar in the Chief Finance Officer. Prof. M.P. Poonia and Prof. Sandeep Snacheti are the Members of the Board of Management of VGU.
With over 10,000 students from 33 states/UTs and 23 countries, VGU is dedicated to quality education, ethics, and innovation. The Ministry of Education, GOI, ranked VGU in the Band of 6-25 in private institutions and No. 1 in Rajasthan in ARIIA. Recognized as the "University of the Year - West" by ASSOCHAM, VGU has secured substantial R & D funding, including Rs 242 Lakh from NITI Aayog and Rs 100 Lakh under the ASPIRE scheme for establishing innovation and business incubation centers. SIDBI has established SWAVLAMBAN Chair at VGU for promoting entrepreneurship. University's B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture Program has been accredited by Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR).
VGU boasts a 90% placement rate with the highest package at 43 lakhs per annum. The university is an active research hub, publishing over 2500 Scopus-indexed papers and securing 232 patents and has more than 15 copyrights. Awarded NAAC A+ Grade, ranked 3rd in India and 646 globally by GU Rankings, ranked in Diamond Band as institution of Prominence by R World Institutional Ranking for the implementation of OBE.
VGU has entered into MoUs with 80 Institutions / organizations for academic, research and consultancy purposes. VGU has been running Army and Air Wing troops under NCC and three units of NSS. Relief for parents as notebooks cost less after raw paper prices fall
Pune: Parents across Pune are breathing easier this school season after a noticeable drop in the prices of notebooks and school stationery. The academic year will begin in 10 days for most govt and private schools and the markets are bustling. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The price reduction is largely due to a steep fall—around 40 to 50%—in the cost of raw paper imported from abroad. This led to a 15 to 20% drop in the prices of notebooks, registers, and other paper-based school materials. Retailers confirmed that notebooks which cost ₹400–₹450 per dozen last year are now available for ₹300. A4-size notebooks, earlier priced at ₹600 per dozen, are now being sold at ₹450–₹480. Drawing books, which were ₹42, are now ₹32 per book. However, prices for felt pens and whiteners remained unchanged. "Prices have come down by at least 10-15%," Rajiv Chandak of Trimurti Traders said. "Medium-quality A4 notebooks that sold for ₹540 are now ₹450. We've revised our cash memos to reflect the new rates." Sachin Gaikwad of ABC Stationers added, "Last year, A4 notebooks were priced between ₹700 and ₹800 depending on the brand. This year, they are available for as low as ₹300. It's a 5–8% dip across various formats." Nikhil Shah of Bombay Book Manufacturing Company said, "Paper rates have stabilised. Last year, during the peak season, prices shot up. This year, the same A4 notebook from a top brand like Classmate, which cost Rs 75, is available for Rs 65." Kothrud resident Suhas Kulkarni said, "We have two school-going children, so every rupee matters. Compared to the last year, our stationery bill is down by nearly 20%. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now It's a big relief. We could buy everything—bags, notebooks, lunch boxes—within our budget." Kondhwa resident Vaishali Kedari said, "Usually, we spend a lot on notebooks and registers. But this year, the prices are really reasonable. We didn't have to cut corners and were able to buy everything our daughter needed without stress." With school reopening just a week away, shopkeepers expect more crowds during this weekend and over the next week. For now, the price correction is happy news.

Gold worth 50cr used in Ram temple: Nripendra Mishra
Ayodhya: A total of 45 kilograms of pure gold has been used in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, according to Nripendra Mishra, the chairman of the Ram Temple Construction Committee. He said the estimated value of the gold, excluding taxes, is around Rs 50 crore. Gold has been used extensively in the doors on the ground floor of the temple and the throne of Lord Ram. He added that gold work is still ongoing in the Sheshavatar Temple. While the main structure of the Ram Temple has been completed, other parts of the temple complex, including the museum, auditorium, and guest house, are still under construction. These are expected to be completed by December 2025. Following the consecration of Ram Darbar, Mishra said arrangements are being made for controlled public access to the sacred space. For now, only a limited number of devotees will be allowed to visit the Ram Darbar, and entry will be regulated through passes, which will be issued free of cost. The consecration ceremony has drawn large crowds to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. In a statement, temple trust general secretary Champat Rai, on Friday advised the temple visitors to exercise patience for visits to the Ram Darbar. A Ram Temple Trust official clarified that the newly consecrated Ram Darbar is not yet open to the general public.
