Social media users said the woman's behaviour was disruptive and maligned the reputation of the country. 'In an attempt to look cool, this Indian girl ends up creeping people out in a US metro — the passengers look visibly uncomfortable," a user wrote on X.
'Not everyone is here to inspire. Some just exist to test your belief in humanity," an individual replied. 'I've now realised that stupidity and confidence often go hand in hand," another said.
This video emerged weeks after an Indian woman was caught for allegedly stealing from a Target store. After spending over seven hours at the Illinois store, her suspicious behavior alerted staff, who then contacted authorities.
Police claim she attempted to steal merchandise worth around $1,300 from the retail store. A Target employee accused her of spending hours in the store and attempting to leave with a cart full of unpaid items. Responding to the video, one user wrote, 'Being an immigrant, I can't fathom the audacity of being a guest to this country and breaking its laws."

Punjab farmer who strayed across border gets 1-month jail in Pakistan
Amritpal Singh, a 23-year-old farmer from Punjab's Fazilka district, who had unintentionally crossed the India-Pakistan border in June, has been sentenced to one-month jail by a Pakistan court. In case of non-payment, Amritpal, a resident of Khairkay village in Fazilka's Jalalabad region, will have to undergo an additional 15 days in custody. He is currently incarcerated in a prison near Islamabad. The July 28 order (copy with HT), issued by magistrate Nasar Mehmood Gondal of Section-30 court in Chunian, also includes a fine of ₹50,000 under Sections 4 of the Pakistan Control of Entry Act and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. In case of non-payment, Amritpal, a resident of Khairkay village in Fazilka's Jalalabad region, will have to undergo an additional 15 days in custody. He is currently incarcerated in a prison near Islamabad. Amritpal, the only son of his elderly parents and father to a four-month-old infant, went missing on June 21 while working in his fields near the India-Pakistan border. His father, Jagraj Singh, reported the incident after Amritpal failed to return. Investigations later confirmed, through footprints and other evidence, that he had inadvertently crossed over into Pakistan while tending to his farmland. Initially, Pakistani authorities denied detaining anyone matching his identity. However, after pressure from Indian authorities and family appeals, it was confirmed that Amritpal was in custody. He was later produced before a court in Kasur district and sentenced after admitting guilt. Three flag meetings between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers have since taken place for Amritpal's early release and repatriation. In a formal deportation order, dated July 29, the Pakistani magistrate directed the ministry of interior to make necessary arrangements for Amritpal's deportation after completion of his sentence. The family, distressed but relieved at the clarity on his whereabouts, now waits anxiously for his return. 'We just want our son back home safely,' said his father, expressing hope for an early resolution.

Punjab man, who inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan, sentenced to one-month imprisonment
Amritpal, a resident of Khaire ke Uttar village in the Ferozepur district, went missing along the India-Pakistan border on June 21 after he went to tend his farmland located across the barbed fencing near the border outpost (BOP) Rana under the Border Security Force (BSF) supervision. Jugraj Singh urged the Centre and the Punjab government to take appropriate steps to bring back his son to India. Chandigarh, Aug 2 (PTI) Amritpal Singh, a 23-year-old farmer from Punjab's Ferozepur district, who inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan, has been sentenced to one-month imprisonment by a court in the neighbouring nation, his father Jugraj Singh said on Saturday. He failed to return before the gate was scheduled to close around 5 pm. Amritpal, who is married and has a daughter, owns around 8.5 acres of farmland located beyond the border fencing on the Indian side. The BSF personnel later found human footprints heading towards the Pakistani side, raising the possibility of an unintentional border crossing. On June 27, the Pakistani Rangers confirmed to the BSF authorities that Amritpal was in the custody of local Pakistani police. Amritpal's father Jugraj on Saturday said he came to know that a case was registered against his son in Pakistan, and on July 28, he was sentenced to a one-month imprisonment. He said a Pakistan-based advocate sent him the copy of a court order as per which Amritpal has been charged under the Foreigner Act 1946. A fine of Rs 50,000 has also been imposed on him. In case of default, he will have to undergo additional 15 days of sentence. The court also directed the authorities concerned to make arrangements for his deportation after completion of his sentence. Amritpal spoke to his family in which he said that he was fine and currently lodged in a jail. His father urged the government to take appropriate steps so that his son be deported from Pakistan. Amritpal left on his motorcycle that afternoon but did not return in the evening. The BSF even reopened the frisking gate before dusk in search of him, but he could not be found. During summer months, farmers are allowed to access the land between the barbed-wire fence and the international border under strict BSF monitoring between 8 am and 5 pm. Several farmers from border districts, including Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Amritsar and Tarn Taran, have agricultural land in this area, known as the 'zero line.'
