Changes are underway for the paid parking structure in Dubai, with a new fees structure to be implemented from next month. The revised parking rates will come into affect starting Friday, April 4. All this comes as part of the new Variable Tarriff Parking Policy, initially set to be implemented by March, 2025.
Under this new system, parking fees will be set at Dhs6 per hour for premium parking spaces and Dhs4 per hour for other public paid parking spaces during morning peak hours (8am to 10am) and evening peak hours (4pm to 8pm).
The fees will remain unchanged during off-peak hours, from 10am to 4pm, and from 8pm to 10pm. Parking will be free at night, from 10pm to 8am, and all day on Sundays.
Premium parking spaces are those classified as located near metro stations, business hubs, and shopping districts. These are high volume areas that see more traffic as compared to other areas. The three factors that constitute a premium parking space include proximity to metro stations (within 500 meters), high occupancy during peak hours and dense commercial surroundings. Zone A
Standard on-street parking: remains unchanged during off-peak and peak hours. Dhs4 for one hour, Dhs8 for two hours, Dhs12 for three hours, Dhs16 for four hours.
Premium off-street parking: Dhs6 at peak times and Dhs4 for off-peak times for one hour. Cost doubles for two hours for both respectively. Dhs18 for peak and Dhs12 for off-peak times after three hours. Dhs24 for peak and Dhs16 for off-peak times after four hours. Zone B
Standard on-street parking: Dhs4 at peak times and Dhs3 at off-peak times for one hour. Dhs8 at peak times and Dhs6 at off-peak times for two hours. Dhs12 at peak times and Dhs9 at off-peak times for three hours. Dhs16 at peak times and Dhs12 at off-peak times for four hours. A flat day-rate of Dhs30.

You can now pay for parking using your Salik account
Salik is offering ticketless parking to residents of Deira Enrichment Project… In the latest from a slew of road network and parking updates in the city, Salik has now introduced ticketless parking for residents and visitors of the Deira Enrichment Project. A new ticketless system implemented through Salik's partner firm Parkonic will allow some residents to enter and exit parking zones using their vehicle licence plates as digital tickets. No need for physical tickets or payment apps. Residents can have a yearly membership through Parkonic's app, costing Dhs5,000. Surprisingly, visitors can also have an annual membership, albeit a little pricier, for Dhs7,500, both of these prices excluding a five per cent value-added tax. Including VAT, an hourly parking costs Dh5 and Dh25 for overnight, including VAT across eleven districts. Parkonic, like Parkin, is one of the largest private parking operators in the UAE. Salik has collaborated with them to enhance parking and payment systems across the UAE by eliminating the need for apps and tickets and using Salik's e-wallet system. According to a report by Khaleej Times, the partnership is based on a five-year contract, during which the collaboration will result in the integration of Salik's e-Wallet into 107-plus locations under it's operation and any future locations it may operate in the UAE. Earlier this year, Salik introduced variable toll pricing. The new dynamic pricing applies for all days of the year, except Ramadan, which will have separate rates, and was implemented starting January 31, allowing motorists to travel toll free in certain passages of time in the day. Adjustments have been made according to peak and non-peak weekdays, the toll sits at Dhs6 during morning peak hours (6am to 10am) and evening peak hours (4pm to 8pm). During off-peak hours, between 10am and 4pm, and from 8pm to 1am, the toll is Dhs4. The driverless car race is coming back to Abu Dhabi with a huge cash prize
Start your engines – well, your algorithms – because the world's most advanced driverless car showdown is hitting Yas Marina Circuit once again this November. The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) is returning on Friday November 15 and it's not just about the glory. This year's prize pool clocks in at a jaw-dropping US$2.25 million (that's over Dhs8 million). If you missed last year's debut, let us catch you up: over 10,000 fans packed the stands while more than a million viewers tuned in from around the globe to watch AI-driven race cars hit top speeds without a human in sight. A2RL is where high-octane motorsport meets cutting-edge robotics and artificial intelligence – and it's only getting bigger. Now entering its second season, A2RL is welcoming top research teams from ten countries, with France and Japan joining the line-up alongside returning powerhouses from the USA, Germany, China, Singapore, Italy and the UAE. Fun while it lasted, Cafu… Fuel delivery service Cafu has been blessing us with free delivery on their petrol service since the height of the nation-wide lockdown in 2020, but that is now coming to an end because they're bringing back delivery fees starting today. The free delivery launched the service into insane popularity at the peak of the pandemic with the residents of UAE, given the convenience and affordable pricing. No matter where you where, when you were, Cafu would reach you, and that too free of charge. Now, they are making 'a small change' and bringing back the fees in a bid to keep up the exceptional quality of their service, as explained in a message sent to customers on the mobile app. The message said that 'keeping a service like this running city-wide, 24/7, with the level of care and quality you expect, takes a lot behind the scenes.' So far, the company has been the one to absorb the cost incurred, adding that 'it's not a decision we made lightly and it's not one we are hiding behind. It's a step we believe is fair to keep the service strong, the experience smooth and your time protected.' What are the new fees? Customers will now pay Dhs20 for priority delivery fee for a waiting period within 20 minutes, Dhs16, a standard delivery fee for a waiting period from 30 minutes to one hour, and Dhs12 for an overnight order placed from 12 midnight to 6am. The company has also confirmed that the charges will apply on top of the standard cost of the fuel, which is charged as per the blanket fuel prices across all petrol stations in the country. Just a simple addition. Cafu was founded in 2018 by tech entrepreneur Rashid Al Ghurair, and started with a simple fuel service that has now grown into a one-stop-shop for all your car care needs, delivered to your doorstep. The company has added mobile car wash, oil change, battery and tyre services to their roster of services and in 2022, it also introduced an emergency fuel service.
