Video shows Bihar Ayurvedic practitioner performing C-section without safety protocols, sparks outrage: ‘Absolutely shocking'

A shocking video of an Ayurvedic practitioner allegedly performing a caesarean section under unhygienic and unsafe conditions is raising eyebrows on social media. According to the viral post, the incident occurred in Bihar's Siwan and the 'doctor' in question has been identified as Kanchan Kumari.
The clip, shot by Kumari's relative, shows the procedure being conducted in what appears to be a makeshift operating room, lacking even the most basic safety measures. The video further highlights Kumari performing the surgery without wearing a surgical mask, gloves, or cap.
Sharing the video, an X handle 'THE SKIN DOCTOR' condemned the incident. 'A 'gynaecologist' who can't even spell the word correctly is performing a C-section in what looks like a storage room, with zero infection control,' the caption read.
'Her family member is casually filming a reel while the surgery is underway. She is not wearing a mask and surgical cap. The room is crowded with people in regular clothes, including the patient's relatives, who are standing around and watching the procedure like it's a live show, without scrubs, masks, or gloves. Probably no anaesthetist either,' the post said.
Revealing the identity of the practitioner, the post wrote, 'She is Kanchan Kumari from Siwan, an Ayurvedic practitioner. Given how frequently the govt changes healthcare policies, I'm not sure whether she's qualified or trained to perform this procedure, but judging by her methods, she is certainly liable for criminal negligence.'
Along with the video, the handle also attached a screenshot of Kumari's Instagram handle and bio which read, 'gynecologist and obstetrics.' In the viral video, a man can be heard saying in Hindi, 'She is my aunt Kanchan Kumari and is performing a C-section. The mothers necessarily give birth to boys when she performs the procedure.'
There is no evidence of sterilised equipment, while the patient's relatives stood around the operating table in casual clothes, some even filming the procedure. Indianexpress.com couldn't verify the credibility of the video.

Although the post triggered a massive outrage. Slamming the incident, a user wrote, 'Why is she still practising ? she must be in jail for harming patients and the unborn child.' Another user commented, 'Absolutely shocking!! The unhygienic atmosphere, the inefficiency, and that evil laughter.'

Here's Why You Must Add Mustard Seeds While Cooking Cruciferous Vegetables

Cruciferous vegetables are well-known for their cancer-fighting properties. These foods are generally low in calories and rich in fibre, folate and vitamins C, E and K. Additionally, cruciferous vegetables are a good source of beneficial plant compounds that contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. When consumed regularly, cruciferous vegetables are linked with lower rates of many chronic diseases, including cancer and heart disease. Some common cruciferous vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, bok choy, Brussels sprouts and others. Cruciferous vegetables typically possess anti-inflammatory properties. However, you can boost these properties by adding one simple ingredient during their preparation. Keep reading to know how. In an Instagram video, Dr. Saurabh Sethi, a gastroenterologist trained at AIIMS, Harvard, and Stanford Universities shared some food combinations that can do wonders to your health. He revealed that adding adding mustard seeds while preparing cruciferous vegetables can maximise their anti-inflammatory properties. "If you add mustard seeds while cooking cruciferous veggies like cabbage and cauliflower, the enzymes boost sulforaphane which is a natural anti-inflammatory compound," he said in the video. Mustard seeds are also highly anti-inflammatory. They are also rich in several essential vitamins and minerals such as copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc, manganese, vitamin C, vitamin B6, folic acid and selenium. In the video, Dr. Sethi shared a few more power food combinations including: Black pepper and curcumin: The piperine in pepper boosts curcumin absorption by 2000%. Lemon and green tea: The vitamin C in lemon helps absorb more antioxidants from green tea. Blueberries and walnuts: The polyphenols (blueberries) and Omega-3 (walnuts) team up to protect your brain. Cocoa and coffee: The caffeine and theobromine boost mood, focus and clarity. Chia seeds, basil seeds and yogurt: The fibre and antioxidants can skyrocket your gut health. Try these healthful combinations and boost your health effortlessly Disclaimer: This content including advice provides generic information only. This one yoga pose outperforms 100 sit-ups, lowers cortisol levels and improves cognitive function

At first glance, yoga may not seem like a place to seek out hardcore core workouts. But those who've held navasana — better known as boat pose — know otherwise. This seemingly simple posture demands intense muscular engagement, balance, and focus, making it an excellent choice for those looking to build abdominal strength. Abdominal strength is essential for safely practicing several other yoga postures. Renowned yoga teacher Sharath Jois once remarked that holding boat pose for 25 breaths, broken into five-breath sets with brief rests, can match the intensity and effect of doing 100 traditional sit-ups. Beyond a sculpted midsection, navasana can stimulate abdominal organs, support digestion, lower cortisol levels, and improve brain function. But how exactly does this single pose impact both body and mind? asked an expert. Dr Lakshay Bhaktiani (PT), head physiotherapy at PSRI Hospital, tells 'Navasana is considered more effective than typical ab exercises like sit-ups or crunches because it targets the core muscles in a more integrated and functional way. Unlike crunches, which isolate certain abdominal muscles, Navasana engages the entire core, including the deep stabilising muscles (like the transverse abdominis), hip flexors, spine extensors, and pelvic floor. It also encourages better postural alignment and requires maintaining a neutral spine, reducing strain on the neck and lower back. Because of the static hold also builds endurance and body awareness, rather than just repetitive movement.' When you hold Navasana while focusing on slow, controlled breathing, it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes a state of relaxation. Dr Bhaktiani states, 'Engaging the core mindfully while breathing deeply can lower cortisol levels (the body's stress hormone), bringing a sense of calm and reducing overall stress.' This combination of muscular activation and breath control supports the mind-body connection, which is a key part of yoga's therapeutic benefit. Over time, it helps in developing emotional resilience and reducing the physical symptoms of chronic stress. Dr Bhaktiani informs, 'Practicing Navasana regularly requires focus, balance, and coordination, all of which engage the cerebellum and prefrontal cortex areas of the brain involved in motor control, planning, and emotional regulation. Maintaining balance in the pose helps improve neuromuscular communication, enhancing coordination and body awareness. This mental engagement, combined with breath focus, can sharpen concentration, reduce mental fatigue, and even support emotional stability over time. Thus we can say that Navasana benefits not just the body, but also cognitive and emotional health.'
