Strong third quarter lifts Stillman Valley past Winnebago for regional championship

STILLMAN VALLEY, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — A very young Winnebago team played right with Stillman Valley Thursday night at the 2A Stillman Valley regional…for two quarters. Then the third quarter came, and the Cardinals blitzed the Indians outscoring them 18-4. Stillman went on to post a 60-44 win. Senior guard Taylor Davidson scored 22 points for Stillman Valley. Lillian Green and Dailene Wade each scored 14 points.Stillman Valley improves to 30-1 on the season. The Cardinals advance to the 2A Rock Falls Sectional next week.Winnebago finishes with a 19-14 mark. This young squad that starts three freshmen and two sophomores will no doubt be heard from in upcoming seasons.For highlights of this game, watch the media player above.
