Award-winning Orange Is The New Black star looks unrecognisable in new show 12 years on from Netflix debut
Julie Lake starred in the hit series as Angie Rice who worked in the prison laundry room.
For her talented portrayal in Orange Is The New Black, alongside her co-stars she was awarded an Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series by the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2015 and 2017.
Now, Julie has ditched the prison overalls and ventured into the world of theatre.
The actress has secured a role in Forget-Me-Not alongside songwriter Annie Macleod who created the musical with her.
The musical, set to be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in August delves into a true story about motherhood and lost romances.
It sees two estrange childhood best friends as they meet again later in life, now as mothers seeking 'more creative freedom, adventure, sexual liberation and a deeper sense of self,' according to the synopsis.
Julie announced her new venture on Instagram and posted a photo of the promotional poster.
She captioned the upload with: 'Wildflowers present FORGET-ME-NOT at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Aug 1-9th 11:30AM, Fern Theater @ Greenside.
'Be there or be square. Link to tickets in bio.'
The star looked worlds away from her Orange Is The New Black days in the post and wore a mustard yellow top and styled her hair in tousled waves with blonde highlights.
One fan commented: 'Gorgeous poster! Go go go!! xoxo.'
It comes after fans of the Netflix hit shared their shock at realising that none other than Sabrina Carpenter, 25, appeared in the show.
Sabrina appeared in the ninth episode of the first series called 'F***sgiving' as youngster Jessica Wedge.
One TikTok user shared the scene on her account with the caption: 'Doing my annual Orange Is The New Black ewwatch when I come across young Sabrina Carpenter bullying Alex Vause.
Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) has a flash back of a moment from when she was younger after Tiffany Doggett (Taryn Manning) calls her a rich b***h.
But she was actually far from it in the flashback scene.
Sabrina's alter-ego Jessica laughs at Alex's trainers, telling her: 'Real Adidas have three stripes. Not four.
'Your shoes are bobos.'
Alex asks: 'So?'
Jessica replies: 'So your mum shops at Payless and works at Friendly's.'
'My mum has like four jobs,' Alex says back.
And Jessica tells her: 'That's not something to brag about. You dress like a bum!'
One of her friends chimes in: 'She smells like one too!'
Alex's mum then arrives to pick her up and Jessica asks: 'Do you guys live in that janky car too?' Bye bye pigsty!'
Many rushed to the comments section to share their shock.
One asked: 'THAT WAS SABRINA??'
'That's Sabrina?? no way!!!!'
'Oh wow, I never realized that was Sabrina!! crazy!!'

Scottish pupil named ‘Girl of the Year' for solar-powered blanket design
A Scottish schoolgirl has been named a 'Girl of the Year' by Time magazine after she invented a solar-powered thermal blanket to help rough sleepers keep warm. Rebecca Young, 13, came up with her design after seeing homeless people struggling in subzero temperatures on the streets of her home city, Glasgow, in winter. She said her message to young people was: 'If you see a problem you think you can fix, you can do something about it.' She joins nine other young women from across the world on the magazine's first list to spotlight girls' achievements. It builds on Time's existing 'Women of the Year' list with the express intention of recognising young female role models globally. Young's design – a solar-powered backpack with an electric blanket inside – won an engineering award in a UK-wide competition that received 70,000 entrants and Young has since developed it as a prototype. The engineering firm Thales, which sponsored the competition, subsequently manufactured 30 of the blankets and distributed them to six homeless charities in Glasgow earlier this year, with plans to make 120 more. Young, a student at Kelvinside academy, said: 'The idea came from seeing how hard it is for people living on the streets of Glasgow, especially during winter, and wanting to create something that could make a real difference. At first, it was just a drawing – I never imagined it would actually be made.' 'Knowing that something I came up with is helping others makes me feel really proud. By seeing themselves as builders, girls can challenge norms, pursue any passion and shape the world. It's easy to fall into thinking that building just means construction. It's so much more than that.' The list is launched in partnership with Lego Group, as an extension of their She Built That campaign, which challenges stereotypes and encourages girls to see themselves as builders. Other entrants on the list include Rutendo Shadaya, a 17-year-old Zimbabwean-New Zealander fantasy novelist, the Olympic skateboarder Coco Yoshizawa, 15, from Japan and an organ donation advocate, Naomi S DeBerry, 12, from the US. All 10 girls are re-imagined as Lego figures on the cover of the new edition. Launching the list, Time's senior editor, Dayana Sarkisova, said: 'These girls are part of a generation that's reshaping what leadership looks like today. Their generation understands that change doesn't require waiting for adulthood – it starts with seeing problems and refusing to accept them as permanent.' Young said: 'I think there's a really important message for any young person to look at what you're interested in and follow your dreams If you see a problem you think you can fix or contribute to, you can do something about it. And whatever you do, you should always follow your own path to what you want to achieve.'

Sturgeon says she could foster a child if her life ‘calms down sufficiently'
Former Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon has indicated she could foster a child if her life 'ever calms down sufficiently'. She said that in her time in charge at Holyrood work with youngsters in care had 'got under my skin and into my heart in a way few other things have done'. However, speaking at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, she conceded: 'I don't know if my life will ever be calm enough to be the right environment for a vulnerable child.' She said that as a result of her previous involvement with children in the care system she was of the view that 'you should never foster a child to fill some gap in yourself or in your own life, it should all be about the child'. The former first minister suffered a miscarriage in 2010, but made clear that she would not want to foster 'because of my loss of a child and me not having children'. She went on to state that 'if my life ever calms down sufficiently yes, it is something I would like to consider doing, but I would only do it if I absolutely thought I could give a child the right environment'. Her comments came as she told the audience at the event she was enjoying a 'delayed adolescence'. Having separated from her husband, former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell, earlier this year, she said she is 'enjoying single life'. She also got her first tattoo, and 'might get another one', with the former first minster stating: 'Because I got involved in politics so young, I was so focused, so single-minded, a lot of the stuff people tend to do when they are younger, I passed by. 'I am living a delayed adolescence.'

Speaking to Grazia UK she said: 'When I came out of the show, I got kind of got thrown in the deep end. 'Some of the girls already had an idea of what they wanted to do. When I came out of the show, the first thing I did was ring my manager at Barclays' so the option of returning to work was there. 'I've not done content creating before, so I didn't know if it was for me. But now, seeing what other Islanders are doing I'm like "oh, I actually quite like this". 'I don't want to do what every other islander is doing. I would love to go down the modelling route and work with high end brands.' Alima previously spoke about her journey on Love Island AfterSun telling host Maya Jama there was another boy that had caught her eye whilst in the villa. Love Island star Montana Brown slammed for promoting 'dangerous' trend by horrified fans Maya asked her: "Is there anybody that you regret not getting to know better?" "Erm I think probably Harrison, there was something there, I don't know if that got shown," she replied. "Then obviously I went for him in the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge. "And then we had a conversation but I said listen, you are in a pickle when it comes to Toni and Helena, so I'm going to remove myself from the situation." 5 5 5
